Would you have sex-missionary with someone if offered money

Snoringfamily · 12/09/2024 23:34

If so, how much would it have to be?

Discussion at work quite a few years ago, inspired by the Demi Moore film. I was younger and had more money than now. If someone asked you to sleep with them for x amount of money-say half a million, would you? Missionary only, over quickly
I was aghast and said no, most said of course they would.

Now, I think I feel differently

Would you?

That was already said earlier with Churchill.

Sorry, I never read all the posts😊

I'd rather not do missionary but otherwise yeah

🤣 yeah doggy style better. I wouldn't have them breathing on me.

Hopefully everyone considering how DREADFUL this would be is also now considering the thousands of women forced into sex work who sadly do not get paid half a million to have sex with strangers. For these women sex with strangers is how they survive, not a joke. This thread doesn’t sit well with me at all.

Chill, it's a hypothetical scenario. Thousands of people are forced into sweatshops and domestic labour, it doesn't mean I can't say I'd hate to be a cleaner no matter how well paid, or that I don't know the first thing about sewing machines.

Newsenmum · 13/09/2024 12:31

I mean it sounds grim. If they’re not attractive it would be horrendous. The smell, the sweat… ugh.

TheBadLuckOfTeelaBrown · 13/09/2024 12:28

I've slept with plenty of men for absolutely nothing and felt nothing either before, during or after so why on earth not.

A prostitute who is genuinely choosing to sell sex is not a victim or some second rate human.

When lots of very wealthy people choose to be prostitutes as a career choice you may have a point. Until then, no. And it'll never happen.

To be fair, lots of very wealthy women ( and men) sleep around for 'transactional' reasons.

Pieceofpurplesky · 13/09/2024 12:24

I once shagged a man for a bath! It was the third date and I was backpacking and staying in a shitty hostel. He was lovely and invited out. I packed clean knickers and a toothbrush as I wanted that bath.

To be fair it was one of the most memorable sexual experiences that still makes me horny thinking about it 30 years on. And then he ran me a bath, let me soak and then joined me.

I've also had sex with a partner of many years that I have regretted.
It would be a yes for me

MsLavender · 13/09/2024 12:23

could ask too if you would kill someone for a certain amount, do we all have a price for that too?

Depends on who I would have to kill and if I would get caught. If it was killing Gisele Pelicots husband, for example, I'd do that for free providing I wouldn't get caught. If I wouldn't get caught there are plenty of people I'd kill for £500k (mostly paedophiles or child killers).

Depends who and how much. If someone was offering me half a million, I would almost certainly do it. I can separate myself from sex if needs be, and half a million would change my life substantially.

Anyone who WOULDN'T have sex for half a million is odd.

I wouldn't. I don't need the money. And I suspect that I'm no more or less odd than you are 😊

If you've ever had a one night stand with someone you weren't especially bothered about, then why not?

Really, it's pocket change to some men.

It's also pocket change to some women...

Me and my friends have had this conversation before and the general consensus was - everyone’s got a price 🤣

Yes, if I was single and attracted to him 😀. Otherwise no.

Old guy on a plane saw this beautiful woman and asked if she would sleep with him for £30, she told him to F off and who do you think i am?
10 minutes later, he approaches again, would you sleep with me for £1m, she says yes of course.
Another few minutes he approaches again - would you sleep with me for £100 - she promptly says who the F do you think I am, what sort of person do you think I am - he replies - well I have established the sort of person you are and am now just negotiating the deal.
(its not about money)

That was already said earlier with Churchill.

It depends on the context doesn't it. If I were being coerced into it, even with the money it would feel like a violation. If it were some handsome James Bond type at my own discretion, then sure.

It all comes down to enthusiastic consent at the end of the day regardless of any money also involved. Money being involved doesn't inherently make consent less important. For example I would give up a kidney to a family member but would be against having a kidney stolen from me on a holiday to Turkey by accident.

The OP has said nothing about coercion. They asked would you take up the offer if you someone offered it to you.

I don’t really understand why people are making up all sorts of imaginary scenarios when it was clear in the op that it was your choice.

So you think one of us on this here Mumsnet might get propositioned with a £500k for one sex session offer? Well if they do I hope they let us know and what their decision was.

It’s quite amusing how some people are taking this so seriously. It isn’t a thread about a woman that has actually been propositioned with half a million quid and asking us what should she do 😁 The chances of anyone of us actually getting such a proposition is zilch, nada, not ever happening.

Really, it's pocket change to some men.

skyfalldown · 13/09/2024 12:13

frankly I'd lose all self respect if i didn't do it 😁

BunnyLake · 13/09/2024 12:12

velvetcoat · 13/09/2024 12:06

Exactly this. The idea is - do it once so you have freedom and choices in life.

Not- do you want this to be your full time job week in, week out 🙄The entire point is, you get a life changing amount of money.

@Fluufer I reckon I'd have done it at 18 too tbh.

Same. And I was very idealistic back then. If a man is stupid enough to pay lots of money for a few minutes of my time, I would be even more stupid not to let him.

Cattery · 13/09/2024 12:07

I always thought I would. Not so much now with the menopausal belly

velvetcoat · 13/09/2024 12:06

BunnyLake · 13/09/2024 11:58

Because this is just the once, not a ‘career’. This is what the thread is about, not would you be an escort as a job.
