Would you have sex-missionary with someone if offered money

If so, how much would it have to be?

Discussion at work quite a few years ago, inspired by the Demi Moore film. I was younger and had more money than now. If someone asked you to sleep with them for x amount of money-say half a million, would you? Missionary only, over quickly
I was aghast and said no, most said of course they would.

Now, I think I feel differently

Would you?

I just think it's interesting. I'm not saying you're wrong. It's just interesting.

I've seen a lot of posts on mumsnet where women say that they couldn't be with a man , if he had been with a prostitute.

As it would show that he a bad character. They describe men who have been with prostitutes as absolutely disgusting.

Yet, then you get a lot of women on this thread saying that they would sell themselves for sex

Abbylikeswine · 13/09/2024 01:28

You said it's a highly paid one off with no weirdness.

How do you know there'd be no weirdness.

What if the man paying you for one off sex is fat, ugly, has bad hygiene and is really nasty.

It's not usually the nice men who pay for it

Because this thread is based on the hypothetical scenario the OP asked about.

One off missionary sex that is over quickly. So on that basis, the no weirdness is implied. I will admit that the missionary part of it is my biggest issue, not the sex itself.

Delonghi88 · 13/09/2024 01:30

Firstly this is the first time I have EVER been here and no I commented on a thread, stop before you start insinuating things. My posts were singular to me. No suggestions no insinuating either nice try tho but I won’t bite

Abbylikeswine · 13/09/2024 01:28

Garlictest · 13/09/2024 01:26

Yeah, but they aren't damaged by a highly paid one-off requiring no weirdness or pain.

In case you're confused, prostitutes have to have a lot of unpleasant, unchosen sex with unpleasant people they did not choose. Women and men who, like my younger self, have freely-chosen sex with whom they want, as often as they want, are not remotely harmed by it (unless something goes wrong).

Eeuww, @Abbylikeswine. The film industry's pretty disgusting, isn't it? (I hope it's a bit better these days.)

ThatSongStuckInYourHead · 13/09/2024 01:26

Delonghi88 · 13/09/2024 01:16

Nope that’s not a thing I’d say at all

Hmm, what was your previous username? Why the name change to hand around a thread talking to women about sex?

Garlictest · 13/09/2024 01:26

Abbylikeswine · 13/09/2024 01:14

If you do research into it, a lot of studies show that women who do prostitution, do end up becoming psychologically damaged

Interesting story about indecent proposal.

I read demi moores book. She said that she had a weird director on indecent proposal.

She said that she was filming the sex scene and the director would be shouting at her "yes I got a boner when you did that! "

Poppins21 · 13/09/2024 01:25

Indecent Proposal was not about sex it was about the power he had to destroy the young couples relationship with his money.

Delonghi88 · 13/09/2024 01:25

As a father of 3 at 35 and been single for 7 years I’d say yes to improving my children’s and my life

FoxtrotOscarKindaDay · 13/09/2024 01:24

Just once, for a life changing amount, like lotto winning amount £10 million. No touching, no kissing, in the dark. Yes.

The likelihood is about the same as winning the lottery.

PyongyangKipperbang · 13/09/2024 01:22

I think that many of us have had sex that left us feeling used and unhappy with men that were supposed (and claimed) to love us. So the idea of doing exactly that with someone who made no such claims but we were left with a life changing amount of money isnt a huge issue.

Its not a massive leap in terms of self worth or "losing soul". I lost far more of my soul when my ex husband raped me than I ever would in a transactional "yes you can shag me as soon as £XXX hits my bank account". The sex would be done and I would get something out of it.

Again, perhaps age and experience makes a difference to views on this.

WinnyMoms · 13/09/2024 01:21

Back in the 90s I would probably have actually paid to have sex with Robert Redford.

DimplesToadfoot · 13/09/2024 01:18

10 years ago I'd probably say yes, but now after being single for so long and most definitely out of practice, the thought of getting cramps rules me out, so no lol

EmmaGrundyForPM · 13/09/2024 01:17

My instinctive reaction is no, not for any amount of money. But thinking of it the other way round, I'd be fine with DH doing it for £500k. He wouldn't though.

PyongyangKipperbang · 13/09/2024 01:16

I am not getting into this. You are sadly uneducated on the subject.

Older men paying younger women for sex is a tale as old as time. The sugar baby/Sugar Daddy thing is very very different. I will leave you to find this out for yourself.

It's you who's wrong actually.

Go and read up on what a sugar baby is

Delonghi88 · 13/09/2024 01:16

Nope that’s not a thing I’d say at all

PyongyangKipperbang · 13/09/2024 01:16

Abbylikeswine · 13/09/2024 01:10

What did you think sugar babies was.

It's always been sex for money.

I remember reading an article years ago about American women who do it.

They described how they have to meet their sugar daddy three times a week for sex, then the sugar daddies give them money.

It is prostitution. Its just called sugar daddies and sugar babies, as there is usually an age difference, and it an ongoing arrangment of the older man paying the younger woman for sex

Mossyeyes · 13/09/2024 00:10

Of course I would and I wouldn't regret it at all. It's life changing money. It would leave the same impact on me as if he has put his finger in and out of my ear.

I'm happily married and I think dh would be a bit possesive but I would talk him around - it's 1 million pounds.

All this talk about losing your soul. My soul is already leaching out in a toxic work environment every day. I have another 20 years to work.

I would 100% swap that for a 10 min shag.

@Mossyeyes

You only have to do it once, not 10 times!!!

🤣🤣

on a more serious note, sorry to hear about your work situation!

Abbylikeswine · 13/09/2024 01:14

Garlictest · 13/09/2024 01:13

Haha, no, it wouldn't do any! I've had a lot of uninspiring sex with both long-term partners and strangers. Some of it wasn't my choice. I imagine I would find the money quite inspiring enough, I'd be consenting all the way and I've never viewed myself as a vessel of chastity, thank you.

Anyway, to echo a PP - these days I'd probably have to pay him 😂

Mylittlespuds · 13/09/2024 01:14

Honestly, I just couldn’t bear the idea of money being on the bedside I would feel cheap and paid for afterwards personally. I suppose it depends on each person individually. Some people might not be that bothered but I’m someone whereby it would affect me psychologically more afterwards so I couldn’t do it. I can’t explain why really but it’s just a thing in my head, it’s transactional. I suppose I think sex is something special between two people so that transactional thing for me would be a huge turn off for my head! Offer a young rich kind man in my youth that I could love be loved and share my life with I would have snatched your hand off. I think it’s definitely a personal choice this question and different horses for courses. I very interesting question to ask and it’s nice to see lots of different answers.

Synchronisedwitches · 13/09/2024 00:12

And I don't think it would be any more psychologically damaging than anything else I've experienced in life only this time I'd have 100k to help me get over it..

A good extension of this discussion is body parts.
Me and a friend who works in insurance were discussing that girl who got the payout from alton towers when her legs got crushed on the Smiler.
And how she may actually have considered it a lucky thing to have happened to her as she can now walk again with prosthetic legs and live a relatively normal life.. but she got 1million plus payout at 18 so she never has to worry much about money...
So we were discussing what body parts we'd give up for how much money..
Apparently there's a list of how much body parts are worth in terms of insurance and/or in court cases regarding accidents that weren't your fault!! There's a whole list of what say, losing a finger, or an ear, would be worth financially

Unfortunately, a £1 million payout for an 18 year old with no legs isn’t a huge sum. It would have been calculated based on the cost of future prostheses (needing replacement every certain number of years) different prosthetics for different activities (swimming, resting, running etc) specially adapted housing, adapted car, not being able to reach full earning potential etc. Many things which are costly and wouldn’t necessarily be available to the same standard on the NHS. Yes, she could spend it on whatever she wanted technically and wear NHS prostheses (which I’d be surprised if an 18 year old
would want to do) but still it wouldn’t mean that money would never be an issue as unfortunate as it is, that amount doesn’t go a long way over a lifetime even if you have your own legs. That, coupled with stump pain etc. I’d never chose that. I agree that the guidelines for how much you get for body parts is rather fascinating (jsb guidelines)

Abbylikeswine · 13/09/2024 01:13

Let's throw something into the scenario.

Say if the man was old, fat, smelled bad.

Would you still take a half a million pounds for sex with him.

These kinds of men are not usually kind nice and good looking

Garlictest · 13/09/2024 01:13

Abbylikeswine · 12/09/2024 23:49

Does nobody wonder about the psychological damage it would do to you?

I'd pay myself.
