..To be mortified at the treatment of rape victims at the Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre?

No women only spaces for 16 months. Basically women, RAPED women - were told they could not definitely see a woman to help them with such an awful crime, they might have to see a man in a dress, and if they objected they were to be 're eductaed' by the man in charge - a man who himself applied for, and got!! a job which was supposed to be only filled by a woman.

It's shameful, disgusting, but whats worse is how many people put up with it!! Who thought this was ok?! why did nobody do anything, or say anything FOR YEARS

Woman with head in her arms sitting on a bed

Edinburgh rape crisis centre failed to protect women-only spaces

The centre unfairly dismissed a worker who believed victims should know the sex of staff who deal with their case.

It's worse than that. Men are not 10% but 6% of the target population, so get proportionally not twice as much access but almost 4 times as much.

And that's before you consider Sarah's case. Which showed that - at least in Brighton - men-only sessions were genuinely men only; trans-only sessions were genuinely trans-only; but 'women-only' sessions allowed men to attend.

Edited

IIRC Sarah explained that she was in a ‘women’ only counselling session when a tall male, dressed in male clothes, looking completely male came in and sat down. Didn’t say a word but sat there smiling as the women spoke about their experiences of being sexually assaulted and no one challenged him or suggested he leave. When Sarah asked the centre about this, she was the one advised to look elsewhere for counselling because the centre was ‘trans inclusive’. This craziness has reached shocking and infuriating proportions. What is particularly infuriating is how other women collude with this very male display of domination.

A survivor who had to endure propping up this vile man's ego Wadhwa's counselling posted on FWR a few years back. She said he scrolled on his phone during her counselling sessions.

Women used as cannon fodder for a man's wants, at a rape crisis service.

That's appalling. And further underlines the unprofessional nature of this man. That poor woman.

Thanks for clarifying the maths.

Gosh, that's a lot more access to services than women.

Yes, that was what i was saying. I used to be polite about it, I'm now not.

I wonder if those poor 4 women per week who had to see the awful Mr W knew what they were getting, his lack of qualifications and the fact that he probably got a kick out of listening to their trauma.

None from nowhere.

Yet, he applied for a role reserved for women and got the job.

Even now He’s got the job because no one seems to have the courage to sack him,

The Trustees of the charity need to be sacked. They knew he was male after employing him, knew there were complaints about him and he didn't implement any of their directives.

I can post where I like. As I said women’s rights appear on every other thread.

Ok that says it all. Your attitude is one of absolute stubborn, malicious and vindictive spite and you MEAN to derail out of spite. That is lower than low.

I’m glad this is out in the public domain. There’s been quite a lot of threads over the years. Rape victims needing to “reframe their trauma” to be inclusive to menfolk aka transwomen really pushed me over into terf territory

Dumbledoreslemonsherbets · 12/09/2024 22:41

Hang on a second.

Women are 90% of rape victims.

Therefore if male rape victims get access to services 1 day a week and women get access to services 4 days a week, the men have more access than the women.

For both sexes to have equal access (the same likeihood of getting an appointment) the proportion of male victims would need to be double. You have many more women per day trying to get help than men on the one day, because there's more women rape victims.

Men get access 20% of the time, but are only 10% of the population of rape victims.

Men get more access. I'm not saying that's wrong as it would be presumably difficult to divide it up otherwise if you want services single sex. But the rape crisis support is reflecting the need here - and trying to provide equal access, but actually providing more access for men. It's reflective of the fact that many many more women are raped than men and will need their services.

It's worse than that. Men are not 10% but 6% of the target population, so get proportionally not twice as much access but almost 4 times as much.

Fucking hell they really really hate women don’t they?

Proving they do not like us, do not understand us, and do not care about us. It's beyond me why they want to parade as women when they're so out of touch with real women. It's delusional.

I'm not really comfortable with a man asking female rape survivors if they orgasmed during their rape. This is what the man Wadha asked survivors during counselling sessions.

Unfortunately we are still in a jungle or roaming the earth as animals. Some have become more civilised than others but desire is still the burning reason the world still turns and we pro create.

Men hunt, we are the hunted.
The hunters have just won a victory in Afghanistan.

It's quite fucking obvious that the mother who is posting about her son being raped has read this as men who have been raped should not be in places that deal with rape victims rather than what it is actually about, a man who hasn't been raped dealing with female victims that have been raped. I think she is trying to get her point across about a different issue and should probably start her own thread but fuck me 🤨 do some people have to be so fucking cunty in their responses to someone who is obviously going through something obviously traumatic themselves? Accused of being a man and a male apologist just because she has very clearly got the wrong end of the stick.

Wanna buy a bridge?

Tbh I used to think this but now I'm much more of the school of thought that a man with no penis should still be in the male toilets. As he is a man, and stronger than I am. But mostly because he is a man. I'm over being nice and pretending.

I'm in that position and I would also like a ban on the barbaric unevidenced surgeries and hormone 'therapy' being pushed onto vulnerable people with gender issues or actively sought out by some with rather questionable motives. Worth knowing that hardly any trans-identified males have had surgery on the genital area, and neither should they, as the results are awful and the side effects are brutal.

Yea I am disgusted that a traumatised boy suffering from complex ptsd would be expected to campaign for help after a rape. His mind is rather busy as it is coping with trauma.

Then you campaign for it then, if he can't/won't. But PLEASE leave us alone on this thread, or start a new thread of your own instead of hijacking this. Many would support you if you started your own thread.

Well then, she could have taken the immense sympathy offered to her son from posters on this thread and started another thread, not doubled down and kept going.
