To be so upset about the stories in Julie In Gender land?

I'm just staggered at the stories, staggered. I knew it was bad, but social workers treating good, caring parents like criminals, forcing the transition of gay kids, the damage to parents and their mental health, let alone the huge damage to children

it's hard to move on from this sort of thing, I am a parent, I can't believe most parents know how bad it is out there in our schools

@Lovelyview I've just been reminded it was Rachel Meade, but yes Lizzy Pitt is another, and I'm certain there are more.

RaspberryParade · 11/09/2024 21:17

@spannasaurus Yes, thank you.

Was it Rachel Meade? Who won her case and there was significant criticism of Westminster Council - who I think acknowledged their faults - and Social Work England - who failed completely to acknowledge any fault?
Given that SWE are the regulator it's terrifying for individual social workers as they know their regulator is completely in the pocket of trans extremist groups so they could be sanctioned if they try to safeguard children from this belief..

Yes thank you for the reminder, it was Rachel Meade.
It is outrageous and SWE are a disgrace.

The problem is the capture is coming from the top down, so even if there are individual social workers they are vulnerable to cancellation and job loss.

There have already been several cases, and I donated to one crowdfund for a social workers court case just recently.
I am embarassed to say I've forgotten her name, there have been so many court cases, but others here hopefully will remind me.

Darn it. Linked to the crowdfunder which got me deleted. It was possibly Lizzie Pitt who took Cambridgeshire County Council to court. They capitulated on the first day. Shocking that she had to wait so long for it to be resolved.

I think there is some horrific stuff going on, yes. And you probably wouldn't know until you're in the thick of it. But I would have thought/hope that not all social workers are like this, so it's more if you are unlucky enough to get an activist.

What surprised me about all of the people that have fallen for this nonsense - politicians included - is that did they not have a little think to themselves before forming a view? Did they just decide to spout whatever bonded someone told them to without bothering to engage their brain first?

Glad to see the Scottish government showing so many other governments how to be unbelievably thick.

I listened to 4 of them today and had to have a break.

The one with the parents saying how guilty they felt made me cry.

The whole thing is absolutely horrifying.

They’re all awful. More people need to hear all this, conversations at the school gate, parents WhatsApp groups, the insanity must end should enough people know about all this

Just how did they get such power over institutions though? Men who claim to be trans have nothing in common with autistic /
girls .

There's something called the Denton document which explains the strategy.

I will never understand how they were so successful in pulling it off in reality though.

There are so many adults culpable not least the legislators who have underpinned gender ideology in law.

Then all the institutions, politicians and organisations who built up the lie and pushed it on children

I don't know what it will take to reverse the above but I'd like to see it.

Well Labour are inconsistent.

Great that Streeting is following Cass.

Not great that Dodds doesn’t see fit to amend the Equality Act to protect women’s sex based spaces.

I really hope some families bring legal cases against the social workers / therapists involved in these abuses. I will donate to any crowdfunds for that.

There was indeed.

The mantra was repeated over and over. It was incredible though. Because the inconsistencies of those repeating the mantras are very clear. And it made it all look absurd.

Views like the word ‘woman’ or ‘female’ was not important at all to women on one hand according to some people, yet the reality is that it is the keystone of laws and policies. So those posters want to live in a wonderful place where they are kind and well mannered, yet they are complicit in the harm of so many female people.

Views like female people only need to pee, and there is never any other needs that female people use the female toilet for. Yet, it is important for male people to use that female space. For ‘their’ safety. Based on no evidence of either the apparent significant danger for those male people in the male toilet, or that this group of male people are safer than any other male person to be in the female toilet. And despite the evidence to the contrary.

The inconsistencies were all there and never actually addressed.

Exactly

The other day there was a thread in chat where a poster was still repeating the 'Transwomen are Women' line - in all seriousness. Swearing blind they aren't men. With obviously zero evidence.

Its like a religious fervour or something.

Me too. I hope there are court cases and publicity and people who caused this get sacked and not allowed to be social workers and psychologists ever again. That people's lives have been ripped apart like this is utterly awful.

lifeturnsonadime · 11/09/2024 18:09

I’ve just listened to part two.

Just horrific - 2 main thoughts -

David & Louise taking about their Daughter. David blames CAMHS and talks about rising numbers of children, presumably autistic or with other mental health disorders, identifying as trans. We live in the midlands too, and I mentioned my experience with my daughter and CAMHS upthread, ive also said in other threads that I don’t know of any autistic girls in our area who have NOT identified as boys or non binary. I wonder if this is across the whole of cahms or if we have experienced the same mental health worker as they did 💔 in the same trust?

Secondly and I’ve mused on this before , was there a directive to put autistic kids on to GIDS waiting lists in order to reduce CAMHS waiting lists? It is highly convenient to tell struggling kids that gender will answer their problems if the upshot is that you can ‘signpost’ to another service.

Oh and activists have called me a liar over the CAMHS thing on here in the past. That’s what happens they try to shut you up or consign you to the naughty corner then make out you’re lying.

Absolutely !

And it is important to understand what has happened.

A group of male people are now considered by some as exempt from being treated the same as all the other male people in the UK for safeguarding purposes.

This has been a massive failure because we know historically no group of male people should be treated as being exempt. The groups of Catholic Church clergy, scouts and teachers are three such groups.

The way this has been done is that some people hold the belief that some people can change sex. Or, that a male person who declares they are a ‘woman’ (some declare they are 5 year old girls too when they are adult males) becomes ‘not male’ for safeguarding risk assessment.

This is not based on any factual or scientific basis at all. This is purely philosophical belief. At best based on pseudoscience such as post modernist theory. At worst, well I would be deleted for saying.

No evidence. Yet we have some posters who will declare this belief is a factual change. And tell us they have evidence to back it up. That evidence never comes. Because it is based in that post modernist theory or queer theory.

For instance, there is absolutely no evidence that there is a ‘female brain’. But you will see that said so often. No. No female brains. Just brains that are structured to fit within a male skull and that has stronger brain fibres than brains in female skulls. The brain reacts to certain hormones to make particular changes. But that is not a ‘female brain’.

And so then for safeguarding the relevance is, all male people should be treated as male people. No exceptions. No group of male people have a lower risk of committing sex or violent crime than other male people.

More importantly, no male person at any stage of transition has a risk of committing sex or violent crime at the same or lower level than a FEMALE person. Their pattern for crime remains that of a male person.

But this is inconvenient to some people and they would like readers of this thread to not know this.

Can click and post on what I like, no?

As can the OP.

you could also contribute to the discussion you obviously feel very passionate about

Posts that include "calm down" "don't get your knickers in a twist" and scoldings over starting a thread in AIBU at all do not contribute to the discussion either.

I have not been able to finish listening to part two. It is too painful. I will have to return to it later. I beg you, Names, don't make this harder than it is. It is such a struggle to get others to understand what is happening to families..

Helleofabore · 11/09/2024 17:06

MrsOvertonsWindow · 11/09/2024 14:05

Worth remembering this is a male led ideology that has been allowed to influence all our institutions using intimidation and bullying to enforce the lie that sex change is possible & desirable. And to gaslight a generation of often mentally vulnerable children, many of who are now mutilating their bodies and harming their minds in a desperate attempt to "change sex".

The failure of the trusted adults in the NHS, schools, social care, psychology etc to safeguard children and young people from this lie is unforgivable.

Well done to Julie for making this chilling series and exposing the grim reality of what's happening.

I just listened to the first two. It is so upsetting to hear, I just can't get over that this really happened. Shocking.

So glad Julie Bindel has made this programme. I cried when she told the parents at the end of episode two that they should stop blaming themselves, my heart was breaking for them.

Me too but I was so glad she told them that so directly. They were so badly failed by the institutions they've propped up with their taxes and who should have protected them and their child. Those responsible need to lose their jobs as they have failed to do what their job is supposed to be and caused harm.
