Why does this sentence give me the rage?

I just want to type - No you are the only person in the history of forever to ever have this experience’

What sentence gives you the rage?

"Just that really." In the OP when the question is in the thread tittle. Comes up quite a lot of MN and irrationally annoys me! 😆

The OP begging posters to "Please be kind!" As if unpleasant posters are going to be kind instead just because they've been asked to.

OneForTheRoadThen · 01/09/2024 07:11

'Needs fed' as in 'the baby needs fed' or 'needs gone'. It irrationally angers me.

squashyhat · 01/09/2024 01:40

'I'm not being funny but...' No. No you certainly are not.

And "gently" and "kindly" when the response is anything but.

Loving all the explanations ladies, I know what it means!!

It’s cringe worthy.

I hate "can anyone relate?" more. Also "are you me?" and "I've found my people".

Moonshine5 · 01/09/2024 07:01

When a person starts a new thread when they didn't get the answer they wanted.

Moonshine5 · 01/09/2024 07:00

When people say they have symptoms of what might be a serious medical episode and instead of calling qualified medical professionals, they post on MN.

I want a baby name that's a bit unique.

Name x is more unique than name y.

Ffs unique is an absolute term. Something is either unique or it's fucking not!

Rather like a list of priorities! No, a priority is a the most important thing. Anything following is just urgent.

saraclara · 01/09/2024 06:51

'but that's just me'

(Because I'm clearly a better person than you)

pastapestoparmesan · 01/09/2024 06:48

Does anyone know… yes every single person who can work Google knows, or could find out
Is there a cold/bug going round… yes hundreds of them ALL the time
This happened to my kid at school today/ but it’s the holidays… clearly not for this person
My kid’s teacher put in place a ridiculous rule… almost certainly came from SLT and the teacher also thinks it’s ridiculous

Nagatha · 01/09/2024 06:46

Oh, forgot one.

you don’t have a MIL problem you have a DH problem.

I love all these explanations as if you’d totally misunderstood the phrase.

I can't get over the fact my husband leaves the milk out of the fridge

'You need to grey rock that gaslighting arsehole and get all the money you can so he doesn't spend it on his new girlfriend'

Or some other dramatic scenario

Delphiniumandlupins · 01/09/2024 03:44

I find the phrase "gives me the rage" very vexatious. It makes me angry but it doesn't give me anything.

BabaYetu · 31/08/2024 23:29

I'd marry you in a flash, BakewellBride! Because yes, ffs, unique is not something you can be "a bit" of, it's binary on or off situation.

That and "hence why" both wind me up something rotten on here.

It's hence, just HENCE. It means consequently or therefore, it can't be followed by 'why' and still make sense.

Revert back to…..no, just revert. Drives me potty!

Downunderduchess · 01/09/2024 02:35

It’s the same for me with the “I was today years old” people. Just say you learnt something new if you must. Or when someone says “unpopular opinion but” and then goes on to say something non-controversial that is not at all unpopular.

Mozzarellaballs · 01/09/2024 02:07

It never came to my attention before until it was pulled up on here but when there has been a terrible incident like a shooting or terrorist attack and someone posts "does anyone else just feel so sad for these people?" Like no, only you do.

Or abit different but when people post Pray for so n so country, I think people think they have done their bit to make a change. I know it's kind to show you have a country in your thoughts but your token post isn't doing anything maybe make a donation or something or when people post their political views or share horrible vids of war etc and they have a couple of hundred friends on facebook, I'm not trying to sound ignorant and I know it is to spread awareness but shouting to your 349 fb friends is not gonna do anything really it just makes the person posting make them feel like they've done something but I'm not actually sure if I fully agree with myself there 😅 happy to be corrected.

Plus none of the names suggested are ever fucking unique. If you want a unique name then, by definition, you need to make it up. Call your kid Zyzyzyzyxpop. That is unique. Kid may not thank you when they are applying for a job as an accounts assistant but it is unique.

What you mean you want is unusual.

And on the subject of unusual - when people ask for suggestions for a girls name that is “really pretty, easy to spell and easy to pronounce but really unusual”.

Do they really think that the average pregnant woman is on the hunt for an ugly name that no one can spell and is constantly pronounced wrongly. There is a reason why Olivia and Emily are popular. They fit practically everyone’s boxes.

Maarva · 31/08/2024 23:54

On Facebook selling pages where something “just needs a wipe”. If it “just needs a wipe” then just get a cloth and wipe it yourself, then put it up for sale/recycling.

moppety · 31/08/2024 23:33

Ooh this is me with the 'Does anyone have this bug right now?' posts. Cue posters from hundreds of miles apart agreeing that they all have the same bug which always has really generic cold and flu symptoms.

TortolaParadise · 31/08/2024 23:30

This is a you problem.
This is very annoying.

deveronvalley · 31/08/2024 23:30

“it changes the dynamic” to explain excluding someone from something

also super- this and that. Super exciting. Super challenging. Super annoying!
