Halloween duvet sets. WTF?

Saw in Home Bargains today. Took no notice of sizes or prices.

This is worse than Xmas bedding and cushions.

I think having themed bedding is pointless and besides you want a Xmas free room to chill out

Same! 😂

Caused much hilarity as my late DP lunged for me just before I hit the radiator with possible terminal velocity.... ah, that turned out to be a fun night .... I find a little humour goes a ling way in a boudoir.... Glad I'm not the only one 🙂 😘

Who is shagging in a pumpkin bedspread? Honestly can’t think of anything more strange. It’s up there with all the Disney stuff. Bizarre.

Me! 🙋🏻‍♀️

I can definitely think of stranger things!🎃

Pumpkins are out, presumably ruffles and florals are out in that case, what’s allowed … plain satin? On a circular bed?

You can have whatever you like love but there’s no pumpkins in my bedroom. Each to their own but.

I once made the mistake of having plain black satin bedding and wearing satin pyjamas.... launched myself into bed and nearly slid right out the other side. Should come with a health warning....

Same! 😂

Needmorelego · 30/08/2024 21:46

@ManhattanPopcorn it's not just for Halloween - it's autumn. Which is a whole season. One third of the year.

Some people find pumpkins and fucking lilo and stitch decor to be a bit of a mood killer. If you’re into it that’s great though congrats

Who mentioned lilo and stich? Again... normally a bit preoccupied. The pattern on duvet cover, isn't a show stopper.

MistressoftheDarkSide · 30/08/2024 21:41

It does warm my dark little heart to see so many of the "Gothic" persuasion defending our annual affordable shopping opportunity. Solidarity to my fellow DarkSiders.....❤️‍🔥🦇🐈‍⬛🦇❤️‍🔥

It’s ridiculous, such a waste of the planets resources. And who can afford all this crap?!

Well, the Halloween duvet sets don't tend to cost anymore than any other ones.

And plenty of us buy them and use it all year round.

Or would you like the government to issue standard duvet sets for the population? Grey, perhaps? Maybe to match our jumpsuits.

And that's before you get into the vintage medical instrument collection.

Now, that sounds cool.

Why is it a waste if you use it year round?
I'm wearing Halloween socks. I won't wear them for just one day
Halloween stuff is just normal decor to me

hulahooper2 · 30/08/2024 21:33

I bought us all one from Ss asda last year , we love halloween and it’s very cosy and also reversible to a non seasonal print . we will probably use them sept to end of november , washing frequently, then the christmas ones can come out.

Heh heh heh.

ManhattanPopcorn · 30/08/2024 21:30

Wtf indeed. Halloween is one day. Who needs a duvet cover for one day?

Nah. No one who cares about the pattern on bedding can possibly have a good a sex life. Soz!

Maybe open yourself up a bit. It can improve

And I have a ouija board throw for my bed. Well, until last night I did but unfortunately my familiar sprayed on it last night so it's currently in the washing machine. Also, in terms of sustainability, I have some real human bones - femurs and ribs. They are very old.

K0OLA1D · 30/08/2024 21:27

TheAlchemy · 30/08/2024 21:20

I can guarantee it’s better than yours because my bedroom doesn’t look like a fucking theme park 😂😂😂

I have taxidermy too. So there.

K0OLA1D · 30/08/2024 21:14

What a bizarre thing to think.

Bet your sex life is really exciting if all you can think about it's the pattern on the bedspread

😂

Willoo · 30/08/2024 21:21

I really don’t care tbh. It’s all going to the economy

I just bought my two daughters matching sheets that are printed with cats and dogs wearing costumes and trick-or-treating. (Or, as half of Mumsnet calls it, “begging for sweets from strangers.” 😂) We’re planning to use them for all of September and October for the next several years.

I find interesting how seasonal decorations seem draw ire for so many people on this site, who tend to argue that it’s bad for the environment. No one goes after makeup users, who are going to throw away all those little plastic cases, or women who use hormonal birth control and put synthetic estrogen into the water systems. I’m not coming after those people either, but I think we all have things we do that have an environmental impact, and I don’t know why seasonal decorations have been singled out as the bugbear here.
