To think we should all boycott John Lewis until they respect their female employees

This is a letter from a female employee of John Lewis's Cheadle branch. John Lewis told its female employees that they have to share toilets and locker rooms with trans identifying men. The employee says this is having a terrible effect especially on colleagues who have experienced trauma relating to men or who have religious reasons to not want to share a space with someone who is the opposite sex.

No. Where I work we have some men’s, sme women’s and some mixed loos. No one here (large employer) has issues with this. Even if they did I do not think I’d be starting an online petition to boycott the employer.

Quite. But the anti trans panic has to convince everyone that it's dangerous because something something ... not that they are prejudiced, heaven forfend.🙄

RufustheFactualReindeer · 31/08/2024 20:34

I don’t identify as GC either 😀

For me personally, it’s not the activist bit. It’s the ‘men’s rights’ bit, when what I am advocating for is the rights of transwomen (who I am clear are women). But I suspect you (and your fellow GC posters now expressing disbelief that it is considered offensive) already knew that.

What rights do transwomen (men) not already have, out of interest?

Would you advocate the same if someone absolutely believed they were a different age? Their body might be 45, but they believed in their inner soul they were 18. Is that ok? Can they participate in things solely for 18 year olds? What about different race?

Just because someone’s post is deleted doesnt mean it was a transphobic post, or even a personal attack

What else do you get deleted for then?

No they're not offensive. 🙄
As a woman I don't want to be called a man though.
As I'm not.
It is offensive to be called one though repeatedly if you're not, and you're being really deliberately ? obtuse if you think it's not.

TRA or MRA could be considered insulting

i mean it shouldn’t be, but I think its the activist bit that people find annoying

but being called a man isnt insulting IMHO, its not something i do…i always assume everyone on here is female unless they say otherwise 😀

Please please report transphobia if you see it

Trying to catch up on this thread but there are dozens of deleted posts so I think it must have been reported.

What action does MN take against posters who break their guidelines?

Go ahead and report then 🤷‍♀️

Edited

Do you feel better now, @Tandora ?

BernardBlacksBreakfastWine · 31/08/2024 20:22

@BeachParty

😂 Yes. Good answer! In the absence of anything useful to say… try to be clever/smug.

Meanwhile, everyone can see you flailing around without any substance to your ‘argument’.

So, to sum up, no answer on the ‘can I be a trans woman’ front? ☹️

If it makes you feel better to think that 👍
Crack on

It's deemed a deletable slur on here though because people got upset at it.
So can't you see that calling ordinary, every day women who don't agree with you men or TRAs could be seen as insulting too?

BeachParty · 31/08/2024 20:06

Going by your argument then - why do people who are "GC" get upset enough to get TERF classed as a slur on here?
Going by your logic, people who are one shouldn't act like one 😕
I

Because it’s the insistence of ‘trans exclusive’. People don’t want males in their spaces. I’ve seen quite a few posts now not giving a rats ass if trans men (females) are in those spaces, thus rendering the term TERF useless. Call me a MERF if you will. You make it about trans when it’s really about men. Who trans women are no matter how many times you say they aren’t.

BernardBlacksBreakfastWine · 31/08/2024 20:10

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 31/08/2024 20:07

Well not really. If trans women are actual women as protested here, and a woman gives birth, can that woman be a trans woman? Apparently so by what’s being claimed. If not why not. A reasonable question.

Talking of reasonable questions… if trans women are women, can I be one? If not, why not?

<screams into void>

Find a post where I’ve complained about any terminology. Then get back to me 😀
