This is true.
or maybe they have read the writing on the wall. That stonewall’s version of the law was wishful thinking and that it is looking more and more difficult to convince people to prioritise male people’s demands over female people’s needs. And to convince people to simply comply with the political and philosophical demands where previously they could emotionally manipulate people with suicide and murder misinformation and gender dysphoria stories.
So, no more is gender dysphoria relevant for the majority of trans people. And the suicide and murder misinformation for UK has been clarified. The government and police forces have made clear that calling a male person a man is not a crime. Doesn’t leave much to support it all, imo.
Previously, all this was supported by fear. Fear of criminal punishment, fear of causing someone’s death, fear of being ostracised or cancelled. Fear of being called transphobic, hateful, bigoted. On here we were fearful of being deleted all the time. So much fear. But that fear has gone and people are thinking, well… this is coercive and it isn’t right.
And we have to thank events like Isla Bryson, the Hate crime act of Scotland and JKRowling testing the waters, Lia Thomas/hubbard/Emily bridges, and recently Khelif, Lin and now Petrillo.
