I dont care if theyre pals or not

I liked them in the 90s, they are just old millionaires now

Am sick of seeing them in the news

I'm midly excited, I quite like Oasis.

The big news of the week however is that Rizzle Kicks are back together and about to release new music. This has made my decade, the world needs Rizzle Kicks right now! 🥳 🎺

It's not even been a day yet

For oasis fans, it's MASSIVE. I can't bloody wait (fingers crossed I get tickets)

Come on, life is hard and it can be SHIT. So let people enjoy what they enjoy without pissing all over it.

coldcallerbaiter · 27/08/2024 19:47

God I always hated oasis. I hated their voices, everything

Tagyoureit · 27/08/2024 19:46

It all seems a bit fake and only getting back together to pay their gas bill.

Liam and noel have notoriously fallen out but what? They've finally kissed and made up?

But it does seem very strange to start a thread like this, just don't bother with it, why be so bitter?

Jjiillkkf · 27/08/2024 19:46

Things genuinely were more optimistic, we were at the height of our soft power and cultural phenomena like Oasis were part of this. Sure the seeds were sown for the current shitshow but we were blissfully unaware. Pre Sep 11th we were resting on our laurels at the end of history, things will never be so good again. Oasis felt good and exciting and it brought people together and yeah I accept all the criticisms, they're all true too. But I'm just so nostalgic for when we could all enjoy something together and felt no reason to think everything wouldn't be OK.

Prawncow · 27/08/2024 19:46

the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off

<blows raspberries>

MagentaRocks · 27/08/2024 19:46

I’m not an Oasis fan but happy for those that are to enjoy this. I don’t understand why people piss on other people’s chips just for liking something they don’t.

Solonga · 27/08/2024 19:32

We are not going to hear the end of it, it will be like Taylor Swift again

This 👆 I thought the Taylor Swift hype was bad, the Oasis shit will be even worse I suspect. Big fucking yawn 🥱

Solonga · 27/08/2024 19:44

Well they did overshadow Sir Keir today so I suppose it can't be all bad

Ah, got to love the Mumsnet miseries. Rather indifferent to Oasis, but these utterly miserable threads, groaning under the weight of their own grief that not everything is exactly to their liking, are getting rather ridiculous.

God forbid people … you know, enjoy anything in life.

Love this.

5128gap · 27/08/2024 19:42

Can't stand them as people. Noel is the least worst of the two, but I still hate his attitude and the laddish scrappy culture sround them. I like their music but only because I somehow know every word, and its a big old sing along. But a half decent tribute or even Gaz from the pub on the Karoake would do the job for me. Its mildly interesting that they are going to play together live again but that's all.

Lostinbrum · 27/08/2024 19:42

Blur were better

HelenWheels · 27/08/2024 19:41

i dont like them and i wish they would stop playing their music on the radio

Penguinmouse · 27/08/2024 19:41

What do you gain for hating something other people like? Ok, you don’t like them - so? Don’t buy tickets to their gig then.

materialgworl · 27/08/2024 19:41

Ok then Confused

Borris · 27/08/2024 19:40

I'm excited and hoping to get tickets

some pp wanting to both revisit their youth and a time when the UK seemed like a more optimistic place, not the insane, conflict riven shitshow it is right now

A lot of that was the alcohol, the drugs and being too young to know the cost of utility bills.

Prawncow · 27/08/2024 19:36

Solonga · 27/08/2024 19:32

We are not going to hear the end of it, it will be like Taylor Swift again

I would like to see Noel’s face if someone makes that comparison to him.

tobee · 27/08/2024 19:34

Very dull. It's a very minor news item. To give it this attention it's like news outlets are now just publicists.

Solonga · 27/08/2024 19:32

WickedSerious · 27/08/2024 19:31

I had no idea they were still a thing.

Appalonia · 27/08/2024 19:31

I know what you mean OP, some pp are talking about this like it's the second coming! Think it's really about some pp wanting to both revisit their youth and a time when the UK seemed like a more optimistic place, not the insane, conflict riven shitshow it is right now.

Prawncow · 27/08/2024 19:30

I can’t say I’m bothered about the reunion tour. It was always Noel who shot down any reunion talk but getting divorced is really expensive.
