to ask what your favourite snack is

I am a prolific and unrepentant snacker. I just chopped up some peanut butter and prunes, and am eating them with thick greek yoghurt with syrup on top.

I had some cashews earlier, and sometimes if I fancy something savoury but don't have bread in I will get a paratha out the freezer, fry it, slather it in butter, cheese, and marmite, and then roll it up and eat it. I will definitely have another snack later, even though I am going out for dinner at a friend's...

So AIBU to ask what snacks you like eating ?

Jacobs cream crackers with marmite and a little bit of cheese
As above but with crumpets 😋
Ryvitas with peanut butter, OR smoked salmon and thinly sliced cucumber

SisSuffragette · 24/08/2024 07:44

I like to use a slice of (quorn) ham as a mini wrap, and get inventive with the fillings like tiny chopped up cherry tomatoes and houmous, cream cheese with the inside bit of cucumber, just jalapeños.
A bowl of Jacobs Country crisp with cold milk
Radishes from the fridge and salt to dip them in

A bag of peanuts if I’m out, and a Babybel and an apple if I’m home.

EmberAsh · 24/08/2024 07:15

Lots of these sound delicious but I wouldn't consider them snacks, more a small meal, like lunch. A snack for me is something that requires zero preparation. A biscuit, some crisps, a piece of fruit. Favourite for me is a cheese straw.

Cold bolognese sauce on torn up crusty white bread, olives in cold vodka, milk chocolate covered caramels, Stilton on water biscuits with a glass of port, a couple of scoops of good quality vanilla ice cream with warmed chocolate sauce...

I read the post title and thought, I can contribute to that, favourite snack, going to write a Twix. Now I have read the thread and I have no place here...

I love a twix… but not as much as a double snickers

BEEF… 🥩

LindorDoubleChoc · 24/08/2024 05:47

Cheddars biscuits (the original large ones, not the minis) spread with Philadelphia cheese.

Marmite rice cakes with butter and peanut butter.

M&S sweet potato tortilla chips with guacamole.

Obsessed with this houmous at the moment. Has to be the jalapeño one.

Where stocks it please
?

MsLavender · 24/08/2024 00:42

I don't think I've ever read a thread that's made me feel more unhealthy!

Walkers Max Jalapeno and Cheese crisps with sour cream and chive dip is my favourite. Also love spicy peperami, mini babybel, Kinder Bueno, Dairlea Jumbo Tubes and Walkers French Fries Worcester Sauce flavour!

Dunnoburt · 24/08/2024 00:39

Tiger bread and houmous.......neither of which I have in stock 😩

Enko · 24/08/2024 00:36

Ooh that’s just reminded me. A Kitkat followed by golden wonder cheese and onion! Amazing

Sounds ace - will try it tomorrow!

You can be in my club - mine is dairy milk wholenut.

Top tip - if you eat a twix and then immediately eat a pack of cheese crisps (especially the posh really cheesy ones - like them tyrells ones) it's a taste sensation.

Just try it. Trust me.

Currently thick slices of cucumber with salt and pepper and then a dollop of hummus and sprinkle of chilli flakes on the top.

Definitely trying this

Nottogetapenny · 23/08/2024 23:56

Black Pepper ryvitas, with a dairylea cheese triangle and sliced tomato on top, with a sprinkling of salt and pepper. Delicious! and not to many calories.

OverthinkingRogue · 23/08/2024 23:55

Salted peanuts, i unashamedly eat around 800g of salted nuts every week.

Newname71 · 23/08/2024 23:53

Notmollybutdolly · 23/08/2024 20:50

also any kind of toast with at least half an inch of lurpak. And I like to wait until the toast has cooled down so the butter doesn’t melt too much mmmmm

My mum calls this boarding house toast!
It’s the way I like mine too .

Livinginaclock · 23/08/2024 23:53

Crisps, always crisps.

lollyPaloozah · 23/08/2024 23:52

My current snack obsessions:

longley farm full fat cottage cheese just from the tub, with loads of black pitted olives.

water biscuits with Stilton

just a pack of popadoms on their own or dipped in mango chutney (or caramelised onion chutney/ branston pickle if that’s all we have 😂)

cubes of cheddar cheese with canned pineapple chunks (retro vibes)

picked gherkins dipped in cream cheese or caramelised onion hummus.

Newname71 · 23/08/2024 23:50

French stick with proper butter, quartered vine tomatoes and cubes of extra mature cheddar, topped with pink pickled onions from Aldi.
im salivating now 😂
