I had to google her after "Breaking News" headlines 😂
This is not news

Why are people asking who she is? If you’re interested just google, easy to see her then!

My normally sensible 21 year old dd text me a screenshot of the “news” and said how shocked she was 🤣🙈 she loves her and I think a lot of young people saw them as the “fairytale”.

They have a huge following on social media. I liked their love story.
It was always likely given their different backgrounds and ideas around their daughter’s upbringing.

I didn't mind it as breaking news!

It's better than the wars death and destruction they normally put as breaking news.

People are interested in celebs

Not all people have heard of this type of individual.

Who is Mollie Mae?

She was on love island

Even so GP was a big film star and CM was the lead in a big band.

Mollymae and Fury were not even soap stars.

I saw the breakup announced on Sky News and thought they were dead.

Molly Mae and Tommy are classed as quite big stars by lots of late teens and people in their early 20s, and the news is for those age groups too. I'm not a love island fan or into influencers at all but those 2 things are huge now so I'm not surprised it's on as breaking news, even though it's not something I'm interested in.

Yeah they have also both been on a popular netflix show now too:

It was called "at home with the furys"

The BBC are reporting non-news to divert viewers away from Huw Edwards and the Strictly Come Dancing scandal.

They always report this sort of thing. They made a huge thing of S club 7 doing a reunion tour which I'm sure most people weren't bothered about.

Yeah they're definitely not as famous as gwyneth paltrow.

But people will be interested and molly may and Tommy

they were both on love island
love island is very popular

longdistanceclaraclara · 14/08/2024 19:06

@Abigail47 but they have nothing to do with any of that unless you think the Furys are in cahoots with the Russians or something?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/08/2024 19:05

Another sleepless night for me then, I suppose.

Who is Molly Mae?

They were on a reality tv programme a few years ago. I think her boyfriend’s brother is a boxer famous for being part of the travelling community (I’m not sure about that partt but I think that was it).Other than that, they aren’t known which is why it is so bemusing to see their ‘breakup’ on the national news.

Nope I'm not young, im in my forties.

I definitely remember seeing the gwyneth paltrow and Chris martin "uncoupling" breakup as headline news

Edited

@Abigail47 what world events would they cause me to stress about?!

You mean the news?

Have you noticed that the news sites tend to always report on the negative things

Eg
Wars
Riots
Stabbings
Killings.

Those things happen in the world. But good things also happen in the world , news sites just don't usually write anything about the good things that are happening.

News sites are designed to report negative things only, in order to produce a worried and stressed emotional response from the population.

No. Some people are interested in celebs. I imagine the BBC hopes to draw some of them in by stories like this in the (futile) hope that they will then decide to pay for a TV licence.

OK correction.

Some people are interested in celebs.

Which is why they've always put celebs on news.

I mean I wouldn't take the news too seriously anyway. I take it with a pinch of salt.

I have a friend who works for a new site so I know what goes on and I know how calculated it all is.

Its very calculated.

The primary thing he told me: is that news is always negative, and it's designed to ebay negative specifically to emotionally manipulate the population.

News is designed to get people to worry and stress about world events

Ha. Well Chris & Gwyneth are at least superstar level (and spent big chunks of time in London like Tom & Nicole).

I'm not even sure who today's two are, other than remembering their out there baby name.

Icantbelieveitsnotnutter · 14/08/2024 18:22

Her name sounds like a 5 year old's...although reality tv people tend to have the minds of them 🙈

Please tell me BBC did not send out a breaking news about this? I disabled them because their idea of important news and mine diverged!

Sky news did with their massive yellow "breaking news" notifications. It was ridiculous. I honestly thought it was to say they had died or something.
