We've all read it. If you're replying to it we assume you've read it too. We don't need to scroll all the way through it again just to see your nugget of wisdom. Behave.

I agree with this^
by the way I only feel like this about OP’s original post, if people are answering to further updates the quoting is actually very helpful.

Funnily enough, twice recently I've replied to an op without quoting and the person who posted immediately before has got the hump, assuming I'm talking to them.

In both cases I thought it was glaringly obvious I was replying to the op. It did make me think maybe I should always quote the op when replying

Just refer to the OP in your post, as in

Yes, I agree with you OP.

(And I do agree, especially when the post is very long.)

I pointed out it wasn't necessary weeks ago and got slated by people who don't know how to communicate politely. I think some posters must do it so they can refer back to it but then don't realise they can then remove the quote..

It is annoying, granted, but if I were you I’d just LTB, go NC with someone, and then have a massive salad to calm down.
