To be fed up with the riots being called “UK riots”?

When.. they are the vast majority in England.

I’ve heard of one in NI: and none in Scotland or Wales.

Is England in the UK? Or not? Who fucking cares anyway, in my hometown where 3 little girls have just been murdered I honestly can't understand people getting picky about shite like this.

Well you clearly care enough to insist for some reason that it's the "UK" rioting when it's largely England.

Can't see it.

If there's any bother here I would imagine it will be George Square, for a number of reasons -

  1. Most of the agitators who will be coming by bus/train couldn't point to Dundee on a map of Scotland, but will be able to negotiate their way to Glasgow Central.
  2. It's inevitable that the "protestors" will be waving union flags, and a portion of them will be wearing colours of that same Glasgow football club that seems to appear every time there's bother in Scotland. Funny how this claimed "tiny minority" of morons pop up here, there, and everywhere.

Regardless, PS usually do a pretty good job of kettling the morons, so I expect they'll do their usual of getting blind drunk, urinating everywhere, climbing statues, singing "party" songs, only to melt into the ether as per.

It’s funny that. In Dundee we had the derby/darby where Dundee played Dundee United. No hassle. Good banter between fans, everyone goes to the same pubs etc.

When a particular Glasgow team come to play: it’s never pretty

I agree to an extent, two cheeks of the same arse and all that, but no. In this instance, when its about lobbing bricks at brown people and torching business owned by muslims, I can't say I'm surprised at all that I've only seen one of the big two represented among the thugs.

Can't imagine a fanbase that is openly pro-Palestinian, left-wing, and anti-fascist will be out creating havoc hand-in-hand with the far right tonight.

I detest both lots equally 😁.
Moronic fuckers.
There was something tried years ago by Scottish hooligan firms along racist lines never amounted to bugger all.

So sorry. Sending ❤️

Would you rather they said ‘the English and northern Irish riots’ or ‘the UK riots’?

ToothPickk · 06/08/2024 22:07

Smallsalt · 06/08/2024 21:59

There are riots in the country of England. There are currently no riots in the country of Scotland.

Portfun24 · 06/08/2024 22:06

Yanbu, pissing me off too. If it was in a small part of Scotland can guarantee they wouldn't be running with UK or British riots.

Thevelvelletes · 06/08/2024 22:05

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 06/08/2024 22:03

"No riots" isn't better than "some riots"?

I was talking about Glasgow football clubs.

ssd · 06/08/2024 22:04

I wouldn't be surprised to see something in George Square with the union jack wearing eedgits in full regalia.

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 06/08/2024 22:03

Thevelvelletes · 06/08/2024 22:01

One isn't better than the other.

Yeah, in the UK.

ChrisS36 · 06/08/2024 21:58

Those parts of the country form the United Kingdom.

Vettrianofan · 06/08/2024 21:56

You're right OP. It's English riots. Nothing to do with Scotland.

ToothPickk · 06/08/2024 21:56

Smallsalt · 06/08/2024 21:50

They are in England.

Yeah, in the UK.

Which club?

I can only imagine you aren't Scots.

VitaminSeaside · 06/08/2024 21:55

There was one in my small town and it stopped me from taking my child to the beach that day. Hopefully they won't do it again here.

I have lived in 2 places in Scotland and the diversity largely extends to ginger or not ginger. Scotland is in no way as diverse as England, nor does it home anywhere near the number of immigrants.

While I’m laughing at “ginger or not ginger”…
Glasgow has an ethnic minority rate of 11.5%… and Dundee has an ethnic minority rate of 10%…

The particular area I live in is very ethnically diverse: my son’s class includes kids from Bulgaria, Algeria, Nigeria, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

its not all white in Scotland

And NI, unfortunately.

English Riots and in NI sadly because of the unionist sectarian link to England.

It's not. There's nationalists involved too as well as rioters coming up from Dublin. The PSNI seem to suspect a paramilitary element. Well it's in their DNA isn't it!!
