Laundry.
It never fucking ends. It's just the sheer volume of it and the dread at putting it all away once dry.
The thing I'm most looking forward to about one day living on my own, is having only one lot of washing to do.
What about you?

Grief.
I lost my beloved gran last year and I am still finding it hard. Mainly as I am still so bitter and angry at family a) for not being there for her and dumping the work on me and my mum, and b) for their tetchiness and dismissiveness when she died, this robbing me of that early grief when I was at the most vulnerable moment of my life.

Autoimmune disease. If that wasn’t in my life then everything I do would be easier, quicker and pain-free; DH’s dad would stop constantly wanging on about his and wouldn’t be able to use it as an excuse for his shit behaviour; and my mum would be healthier and happier. And I wouldn’t have the worry of my kids developing them either.

Cooking. What are we having for tea tonight? I don't know! Bars of chocolate and cereal.

Yes
My dh tries to ask in different ways as if it will sneak under my 'pester' radar 😂

"What were you thinking of having for dinner tonight...?"
"What do we all fancy for dinner?"
"What have we got in for dinner?"

My favourite..
"Let's have takeaway tonight " 😄

Illness and disability. Life would be better without those. All the other stuff is mere fluff in my opinion

That I do understand and agree with you.

Yes, it's particularly noticeable during the holidays.

Also noticeable during lockdown! The never-ending meals to plan and cook during lockdown!!!

But........ YOU are someone's neighbour so you'd go "pouffe" as well........

Fair point! Ok, then I'd eradicate attached housing. Detached homes for everybody!

TheOnlyMrsW · 05/08/2024 12:25

My mortgage...........

Deciding what to eat and making it every single day.

Going to the office. Worked full time remote for four years, suddenly want us in min 2 days. That’s an extra 8 hours of commute and childcare added to my week then for ‘collaboration and team culture 🙄’. I expect my migraines will make a come back from the additional tiredness and time spent in an overlit, noisy hell hole.

RB2507 · 05/08/2024 12:24

My mortgage. If I didn't have a mortgage I could quit my awful job, then everything else I would have time for.

The cats. The cat hair is every and I hate it. Plus laundry.

If I won the lottery the first thing I would.do is hire a housekeeper.

Ugly appliance wires dangling everywhere and gathering dust and dirt. Surely if we can fly to the moon we can invent wireless plug free computers and appliances.

Noneofyournonsense · 05/08/2024 12:21

Severely disabled Ds getting all the support he needs without a constant battle. In particular having a school/college place in September because he doesn't have one and the LA don't give a shit so it is off to Tribunal we go again.

I often have cereal for lunch or dinner out of sheer laziness but then I live on my own.

Neighbours and especially their stinking cigarette smoke and noisy kids. I want a small detached house at least a quarter of a mile away from the nearest neighbour. But I cant afford one.

Mobile phones. Argh. Life was so much nicer without them!

I would keep mobiles but eradicate social media! I was fine when it was just texting.
