Why has Michael Jackson not been cancelled?

I don’t understand why a musical has been made out of his music, and why his music is played at school discos and is still everywhere.

After I watched the documentary where the men described how he raped them, I won’t listen to his music at all, in fact, I feel a sense of disgust when it is played publicly.

I don’t understand why we seem to have cancelled everyone else except him. Is it because he died before he was officially found guilty?

This is key for me. MJ may or may not have assaulted those boys, I honestly don’t know, and I’ve watched the documentaries, but why, why would you send your child to stay in house of a man that you basically do not know? I don’t care how famous he is, it’s just wrong. And this also goes for the parents of Usher, who allowed their child to live with Diddy.

I only watched the documentary quite recently but I have to say that having seen it, I do feel differently about Michael Jackson's music. I used love it but when I hear it now, it gives me the ick 🤢

Exactly. They're rabid. The hatred for Michael Jackson - who was not convicted or found guilty of ANYthing - is fierce. And quite bizarre. The anger coming from a few posters on here is palpable. In the words of Taylor Swift 'you need to calm DOWN. You're being too LOUD!'

I don't why people think MJ could sing, he was mediocre at best but he was a great showman.

They were dating (and Priscilla was thus being "groomed" in modern parlance) but I think she claims that they didn't go all the way until they were married - or at least not long before, as IIRC Lisa-Marie was born nine months after the wedding! She may be telling the truth, as Elvis wouldn't have wanted to get her pregnant and thus reveal to the world that he had slept with her - he saw what happened to Jerry Lee Lewis, after all.

Priscilla was a great beauty at 14 and looked much older than she was. I think there's hardly a straight man in the world who wouldn't have wanted her. I agree that Elvis should have left her well alone when he found out her age, which I think he knew from the very beginning.

Jimmy Saville never faced Trial. Tapes of all the shows he was ever in are not published by the BBC etc. I was offered tickets free, for the MJ show. I did not go, out of principle.

I was agreeing with previous poster who said his music was mediocre at best.

No he’s definitely not one of the greatest artists - musically he’s quite pedestrian. Churning out very average rather whiny pop ditties. They’re unimaginative, repetitive and annoying.

I agree with you OP, all this nonsense about his bad childhood making him want to sleep with children. He waved in right under everyone's nose.. A vile pedophile who belongs in the same camp as Jimmy saville.

Because people would rather listen to Billie Jean than any old rubbish sung by Gary Glitter. It’s so much easier to cancel a naff Glam Rocker from the past, same as Savile, Rolf Harris and Stuart Hall. Who’s upset that they can’t watch those old creeps on TV anymore?

No one cares to listen to “Tie me kangaroo down sport” accompanied by a wobble board, no one is interested in watching a three legged race from a dumb 1970s game show.

But Jacko’s music is so catchy, let’s all go and watch the West End show and forget about how he fooled everyone.
