to think these people in Sunderland are not "protesting".

They are not protestors. They are not protesting. They are common or garden thugs and criminals who are causing criminal damage, setting police offices on fire and attacking police officers.

Total scumbags.

Drivel. Violent people are responsible for their own actions

Nowhere have I said I support thuggery.

The country is going through hard times. Here in Britain immigrated tops our news, as does the huge rise in the cost of living. Knife crime is now a daily occurrence.

History shows when there is so much unrest and turmoil, it creates pockets of unnecessary violence.

I don't have an answer.

All I would say is be kind to one another, violence is not the answer.

I really wish all the racists who have crawled onto this site since Monday would fuck off back to Telegram or that fruit site or wherever it is they usually lurk.

I WANT MY SITE BACK!

Don't be ridiculous. I blame politicians going back to Tony Blair. They took the racially harmonious country of the 90s and turned it into a divided country. There have been multiple attacks by asylum seekers maybe with mental health issues from dangerous countries in recent years - Reading - 3 gay men murdered in park, David Amess mp, little girl in Bolton, man in Hartlepool, several in Bournemouth. We can't even deport dangerous criminals like acid attack man who had done several sexual crimes because of blairs human rights laws. Only yesterday kurdish asylum seekers jailed for trying to push someone under a train for looking at him wrongly. These sorts of crimes never happened previously.
People like Starmer don't give a crap as they have protection. Their most important task is safety and security of the public including most vulnerable and they have failed. People of all races deserve better. The riots are a result if people's frustration at being ignored.

These sorts of crimes never happened previously

What a load of racist rubbish. Would you like to now make a list of all the violent crimes committed by white people in the last few years? It will take you a while.

What does " wanting their country back" actually mean? this phrase is thrown around a lot like sovereignty was during brexit but no one can actually say specifically what they want to happen. It's my country too and I want it back from drunk, coked up lunatics that are totally disrespecting the horrific attack on innocent children by making this all about them and their psychotic hatred of immigrants

Mama2many73 · 03/08/2024 07:29

I live in the North Easr. Yesterday we received , as foster carers, a warning regarding 'protests' expected in all our main cities, and to be aware and vigilant if having to travel into them. I thought it was a little OTT until I saw what was occuring in my home city!! Absolutely disgusted.

PURE SCUM. Apparently they are NOT rioters but 'concerned parents'. Total bullshit.

I am so angry they are attaching their racist, cromjnal behaviour to the deaths of 3 beautiful girls and the shocking events in Stockport.

We have a very mixed community here and I can't begin to understand the levels of fear ANYONE who is not typically 'white British' myst be feeling right now, with stupid, racist mentality walking the streets!

ImCamembertTheBigCheese · 03/08/2024 07:28

These sort of people always come out of the woodwork at times like these. They take advantage of the mood to unleash their violence.

I live in a town where protests have been organised for this afternoon. Local Facebook groups are off the charts, the misinformation is quite frightening ‐ tons about 1000s of children raped and murdered by illegal immigrants, just mums scared for their children, patriotism being rebranded as racism, cries for repatriation. No sensible discussion or debate. Just anger.

I do worry about Facebook. It seems to attract weirdos who are worried about lost cats one minute and are raging racists the next.

It’s scary to think they’ve always been there, it’s only occasions like this when they all get together when we realise there is so much hate bubbled up. They crave power, and most of the time they don’t have any. Having a riot gives them the gratification of feeling like they’re in charge. And they obviously don’t have any problems with violent crime being carried out (including by and towards children) if the perpetrators are white British.

Flibflobflibflob · 03/08/2024 06:55

I think it’s whats amplified on social media. Over the last few weeks there have been riots in harehills, videos of Pakistani guys beating up police officers (and then the idiots standing outside the police station with BLM posters defending these twats) more grooming gang convictions, soldier stabbed by an illegal migrant (no-one seemed fussed by that) child of Rwandan’s murdering girls and a bunch of black kids trying to chop each other up in the streets, constant Palestinian protests, harassment of politicians during the campaign and a bunch of councillors yelling allahu akhbar when winning.

I think it’s contributed to a sense of disorder. If you seeing this stuff on a loop on social media and you are as criminal, stupid and trashy as some of the people above (I’m not equating these people to the murderers, more the rioters) then you see your actions as somehow a defence of your country. Which it’s not, it’s just creating a fucking mess and terrorising normal people.

I actually don’t think they are all racists, I think some are, some just like doing this shit because they are criminals and enjoy a riot and some genuinely believe they are under attack.

Honestly I think there is a failure here, I can’t put my finger on it but it feels like increasing sectarianism rather than universalism. I can’t help but think part of it is the presence of special interest groups. I saw a lot of people complaining about Starmers response to a question about the muslim community. I think what he should have said was that every citizen and resident of the UK should be able to expect to live in peace and their places of worship and person protected from harm rather than specifically responding about protecting muslims. I’m putting it badly because ofcourse I think Mosques and Muslims shouldn’t be attacked for just being there. But we need to move back to a sense of “this is what it is to be part of the wider British community, this is how we expect everyone to behave and this is how everyone can expect to be treated if they don’t”.

We’ve lost a sense of shared values, what most people want is a nice place to live with zero crime and a high trust environment. Thats most people, we need to be speaking to that.

Been awake since 5 reading all the racist comments online. I’m not white and I’m scared to go out now, in case I’m a target, it seems they have a lot of support online… I’m pregnant with a little girl and it breaks my heart to see the environment she’s about to be born into

I'm so sorry that you're being made to feel that way by the mindless racist yobs. Hugs. X

Tommy 10 names is wanting to hold a protest in glasgow. Looking forward to see George square smashed up again

"England til we die" might not go down quite as well up here... It's scary to think of those people bringing their hate up here. And even scarier to think there might be people up here in Scotland who'd join them.

StressedAndDepressed1 · 02/08/2024 23:23

I find it very interesting that none of this mob turned out when Lucy Letby killed multiple babies, and was found guilty in court.

Yet when there's a rumour floating around on social media they can mobilise to smash up multiple towns and cities.

Hot weather has a lot to do with it. Have you ever seen a riot on a rainy day?

DdraigGoch · 03/08/2024 06:48

Does anyone honestly think that if the person who has been charged with this atrocious crime were white we would be seeing any of this despicable behaviour.
@Lifeomars honestly? Yes. The riots have nothing to do with those poor girls. These thugs would have latched onto any pretext, if it wasn't this they'd have found something else. Hot weather often means that people are spoiling for a fight.

RickyGervaislovesdogs · 03/08/2024 06:44

Round them up, throw away the key.

Sceptical123 · 03/08/2024 06:41

I agree they’re there because it’s summer and it’s an excuse to have a go at the police ‘legitimately’ and do a load of criminal damage and theft. Funny how the numbers aren’t so great in the winter months. As soon as I read they were holding beer cans and drinking they lost any moral high ground or pretence it was a protest and it showed these were the same twats who would be stuffing rockets up their bum, high on booze and cocaine, and wreaking havoc during a big England football match 🙄 Mindless scum.

Also ‘thugs’ and ‘thuggery’ have obviously been the approved terminology for all the officials mentioning this and commenting. The amount of times you read these terms when looking at news articles, they really stand out. The powers that be obviously had a meeting and decided this label would be acceptable and word was passed down to use them as they were deemed powerful enough to show disapproval but inoffensive to the vast majority. Just reading the first page of this thread I lost count at the number of times posters were using thugs and thuggery themselves which shows the power of official language has had the desired effect among us already.

GinAndBeerIt · 03/08/2024 06:40

You never see those yobs and hooligans out rioting in the depths of winter do you.
Funny that.
I remember the UK riots in the 80s, the first one being the Brixton riot in April, which was very warm and more followed in the summer, predominantly in July.
Come winter, they're all comfy in front of the TV with their outrages left forgotten on the doorstep!

malificent7 · 03/08/2024 06:35

Well these rioters are sad as no-one will listen to their racist, sexist, homophobic ideas. Diddums.

Everything you say is right. Except the £350m p.w. for the NHS. Increased spending on the NHS has been higher than that since Brexit.

Democratic voters pro Brexit were pilloried, watched as any amount of Euro supporters did everything they could to stop that democratic process, and then got shafted by a goverment that didn't deliver on what they promised when they invited the people to vote.

What on earth are you on about? The government delivered the hardest possible Brexit. David Cameron said he would take us out of the EU if people voted for that. That was the extent of what the Government promised in 2015. Not only did they do that, but - of all the possible ways in which Brexit could have been delivered (single market, customs union, etc) - they rejected any kind of union with the EU in favour of an outcome that only the most extreme Brexiteers ever envisioned.

But, if by not delivering on what they promised you mean that there was no £350m a week for the NHS and no sunlit uplands and unlimited fish, it’s not like people weren’t warned repeatedly that this was never going to happen. Even Jacob Rees-Mogg stated that it would take 50 years to see the benefits of Brexit. We have 45 years more to go, by that reckoning, so I’m not sure what is so surprising about our economic plight. Rather than blaming the millionaire charlatans like Farage who made these ludicrous claims (and who enriched themselves very nicely by betting against the £), the “Engerland till I die” mob continues to revere them. Like Teflon, none of the shit ever seems to stick to them.
