Trying so hard with my twitching

Terrifiedshakes · 01/08/2024 00:46

See my other threads. I'm at a loss

I'm trying so hard to sort out why I'm twitching. I'm taking Kalm tablets now and I'm trying hard with breathing techniques

Yet I still continue to twitch all over my body. Every few mins there is a twitch and it can be anywhere.

I'm bow trying to fall asleep but I keep getting woken up by a massive twitch that feels like it's coming from my head. I'm terrified it's a seizure that I can't go back to sleep.

I am so very anxious though about these twitxhes. It's a vicious cycle. If they are anxiety related how do I break the cycle and why are they coming from my head and waking me up with such a jolt..

Please be gentle with me with your advice as I'm so scared I've got MS or a brain tumour or MND I'm sat here trembling with fear and the trembling is fear , the twitches are muscle.

Good plan!

Persevere with the tablets and if the issues don’t resolve go back to try something different.

The ones I take took a while but I wouldn’t be without them now.

Neurological exam normal.

Doesn't think its MS or ALS. He thinks the neurology wouldn't accept my referral.

He's prescribed me some tsbkets for anxiety but I can't remember the name. Not sertraline though.

Also a low dose of sleeping tablet that's linked to an antihistamine. Forgot the name . Ill find out the names when I collect them later.

So my plan,

Self refer for CBT
This evening go for one last run as if these new tablets are anything like the last, they are going to make me rough for the next week until I'm used to them.

Take the sleeping tablet.

Keep the fuck off Google.

Eat better. Excercise less.

How did the appointment go?

Comtesse · 06/08/2024 09:56

Ask your husband to take your phone off you over night. No one needs to be reading about MS or whatever at 3am.

KeirSpoutsTwaddle · 06/08/2024 09:28

Well done. That alone is an excellent step forward

Re read the letter when you are tempted to google or starting to obsess.

Terrifiedshakes · 06/08/2024 09:24

I've written the GP a little letter with how I feel. I don't want my son hearing some of the shite I have to say. I've been clear at the end I've had suicidal thoughts but state of mind at present, is not suicidal, nor is anyone else in danger. I'm just not functioning and Im experincing insomnia. I am the closest I've ever been to a breakdown I think and I feel like I am neurologically malfunctioning. It's a very good letter if I do say so myself. It gets my points across anyhow in about 5 small clear paragraphs. I've got to get better and I've got to acknowledge I've got health anxiety but it's so difficult when my body feels like it's malfunctioning neurologically and it feels so physical. Google is also a nightmare. I'm thinking of getting a very basic phone without Google. Not yet though.

You sound like you are massively run down and cannot relax.

Disabled child to care for, an incredibly intense exercise regime , not sleeping enough, constant worrying/anxiousness. You are putting a huge strain on yourself. If you keep pulling that rubber band too tight, yes, it starts to fray and snap.

Slow down. Pare back on the intensity of the exercise regime, make sure you are eating well, focus on getting as much sleep as possible. Get off the internet! Focus on self care and happiness.

This is good. Your children need you to be mentally well, do it for them.

Hope you get reassurance and help.

Terrifiedshakes · 06/08/2024 08:23

I'm sure the twitching is better in the morning and worse in the evening. Its always there but I think it's turned down in volume i the morning. The twitches arnt as forceful maybe.

Ok, KeirSpoutstwaddel

I'm going to let the Dr reqr your message up above as it's easier

KeirSpoutsTwaddle · 06/08/2024 07:57

They don’t address the issue in your case, they address the symptom.

And doctors prefer to decide what to prescribe rather than be told.

I’m concerned you won’t get your needs assessed if you just say you need sleeping tablets.

Don’t get me wrong- it may well be something to help you sleep- but your whole situation/condition needs assessment.

Terrifiedshakes · 06/08/2024 07:47

What is wrong with sleeping tablets?

Are they addictive too?

OP posts:
KeirSpoutsTwaddle · 06/08/2024 07:25

Please don’t ask for sleeping tablets.
Tell them you are twitching continuously, it’s interfering with your sleep, you are ceaselessly googling and testing yourself for health conditions and need help to manage it- it’s taking over your life and you are barely functioning as a result. It’s obsessive and has been going on for x weeks/days/months and you realise it’s a problem.

It may be health anxiety, OCD or all sorts of things- but ask for help to manage it.

Terrifiedshakes · 06/08/2024 03:02

I'm awake as u can't sleep for twitching all over my body. It's mote pronounced wen I'm trying to drift off.

Can't wait for 8am when I can phone gp and ask for sleeping tablets

OP posts:
BananaLambo · 05/08/2024 19:40

OP, the sleep one is really normal. I get it when I’m really tired and it’s called a hypnic jerk. You can read more about it here.

KeirSpoutsTwaddle · 05/08/2024 19:36

Sweetie it’s no good telling us. You need to tell the crisis team, your GP, ring 101, whatever it takes.

Stop watching and googling. Stop exercising. Start planning to get help for mental health.

Terrifiedshakes · 05/08/2024 18:19

I look like the ghost girl in the film. The ring. Did she twitch. No that's Micheal Jackson in thriller. I'd fit in that video atm too.

It's so embarrassing. My self care isn't like it normally is. I'm clean and clean clothes, eye makeup smudged but I'm more rougher around the edges then usual. My hair is normally long and silky down my back but it's in a messy ponytail. I'm very pretty so everyone says but I look like a scruffy version of me when I look in the mirror. My tans fading too.

OP posts:
Terrifiedshakes · 05/08/2024 18:03

Mental health crisis. See i dont even know how to word it. Its embarrassing and intimidating phoning up and telling a stranger all this.

If you tell your dr surgery that you’re having a mental health crisis, they’ll get you an appointment.
