Trying so hard with my twitching

Terrifiedshakes · 01/08/2024 00:46

See my other threads. I'm at a loss

I'm trying so hard to sort out why I'm twitching. I'm taking Kalm tablets now and I'm trying hard with breathing techniques

Yet I still continue to twitch all over my body. Every few mins there is a twitch and it can be anywhere.

I'm bow trying to fall asleep but I keep getting woken up by a massive twitch that feels like it's coming from my head. I'm terrified it's a seizure that I can't go back to sleep.

I am so very anxious though about these twitxhes. It's a vicious cycle. If they are anxiety related how do I break the cycle and why are they coming from my head and waking me up with such a jolt..

Please be gentle with me with your advice as I'm so scared I've got MS or a brain tumour or MND I'm sat here trembling with fear and the trembling is fear , the twitches are muscle.

Mindfulness is probably what stops me from really breaking down. I could probably look into it more. I have a list and working on it. Weighted blanket ordered, box breathing looked into, I've self refered for CBT.

I spoke to Dr and she said to send a sample in to be tested for infection. I asked her if it's for infection only, not cancer etc and she said infection only. She said that yellow can be it's not staying in my gut for long enough perhaps becuase I'm on new medication.

I told her I'm worried about liver or pancreatic cancer and I can't remember what she said as I've got brain fog.

Have you spoken to the doctor yet? I hope you're feeling calmer now. Have you tried mindfulness? Living purely in the moment and not letting all the what ifs take over your thoughts.

I slept better last night. I woke up once bolt upright with a hugh twitch but my heart was also pounding, so the pounding heart actually relaxed me as it confirmed that I could be panicking in my sleep and the twitch isn't necessarily a seizure, it's panic, so my racing heart weirdly, relaxed me and got me back off.

I've got the Dr phoning me to dicuss my digestive issues at 9.

Zusammen, thanks for that lovely. I'll have a listen tomorrow and let you know. I bet that's really helpful. X

You can get the Claire Weekes book free on YouTube. I listened to them, then ordered the book, only to realise it was the same content!🙈

Edited - actually I think they must have been removed as I can’t find them now.

My mums organised a back massage tomorrow but hiw can I go if ive maybe got liver disease or pancreatic cancer.

I cba being all fake nice tomorrow

Cancer or not you can have a massage tomorrow. The good things in life are as real and as deserving of your mental space as the bad things.

Terrifiedshakes · 07/08/2024 21:31

I don't care how expensive the headspaxe app is. Its something I can try !
I've just read antihistamines can make stools paler, well I had one last night to help me sleep...

Ok well the things you’re worried about now aren’t terminal and can easily be diagnosed with tests. In fact the tests you’ve already had would rule them out.

You are going to cause yourself some damage if you don’t get your anxiety under control though. I’ve had some success with using the Headspace app, if that’s too expensive maybe try some meditations on YouTube.

Yes and the only thing I ate yesterday was an onion baji flat bread thing from COSTA and 2 pork belly.

I'm so stressed. Thank you everyone on here I've never had an episode like this so bad. Good news is I don't think I've got MS or MND.

Bad news, I'm on epilepsy and liver/pancreatic cancer worrys now. Don't get me started on breast, they need checking this month. I might actually have a month off. Can't cope with that too.

OP posts:
Zusammen · 07/08/2024 20:50

It’s stress. You’re giving yourself a tummy upset so stuff is going through you too quickly, hence the colour. Or yes it could also be coeliac, which really isn’t a big deal.

The doctor won’t be able to diagnose you unless you get your stress under control, because nobody knows which symptoms are genuine and which are stress induced.

Terrifiedshakes · 07/08/2024 20:36

My stool is very light in colour. It could be liver disease. My bloods have eventually come back normal for my liver. The Dr said he wasn't worried last week. Oh no no why me. I am being tested for celiac disease but the waits 18 weeks average. Oh no. There is something wrong with my insides I'm back on the floor again rocking I can't keep doing this

OP posts:
Terrifiedshakes · 07/08/2024 19:25

They are testing me for celiac but it's normally orangy brown, not yellowy brown!

OP posts:
KeirSpoutsTwaddle · 07/08/2024 19:24

It’s good you went back today. Stool changes colour according to what you eat. You may have had more fat than usual for example. Or the medication may have unsettled things.

You are jumping at shadows.

Terrifiedshakes · 07/08/2024 19:21

I can't go back tondrs tomorrow about this. Iv3 been back today. This will mean I've been doctors three times this week and once last week.

I saw gp today and he prescribed me a higher dose of proprodamol

OP posts:
Terrifiedshakes · 07/08/2024 19:19

I had tummy ache which I put down to the new pills. Just been now and my stools are nearly a yellow colour. Wtaf I've had enough. Is this normal bexuase of the medication I'm on? My liver level blood results went back to normal.

I have anxiety and get random muscle twitches, worse in arms and back of legs, i try and fight the urge to twitch but always fail, the only time they were a lot better was when i was on Citalopram, i came off that when i got pregnant and as my other anxiety symptoms are still manageable i haven't gone back on it even 7 years later. The twitching does annoy me at times though.

HÆLTHEPAIN · 07/08/2024 10:06

Zusammen · 01/08/2024 01:22

I don’t mind reassuring someone who’s struggling, which she clearly is. Twitching is scary, I have it myself and I go through times when I feel absolutely terrified. Your mind runs away with you and you need someone to talk you down with logic and facts.

NRTFT so this might have already been said but reassuring someone with anxiety (health or otherwise) can actually make the problem worse. Especially when it’s obvious this is an ongoing significant problem.

Terrifiedshakes · 07/08/2024 10:06

On a site called Just answer. I've really made the neurologist earn her money last night. Trust me. I've grilled her.

I paid 35 pounds last night for a neurologist to phone me.

I am listening and reading guys.

I'm going to continue taking the anti depressant but not the sleeping pill. It was horrible feeling so tired and drowsey whlst not being able to fall asleep, whilst having a panic attack and heaving into a Morrsioms carrier bag being sick at the thought of nocturnal epilepsy.

I've also been listening to this girl mentioned above on YouTube. She's fantastic and just gets health anxiety. But she's not talked about nocturnal epilepsy and walking up to your body shaking.

OP posts:
Balloonhearts · 07/08/2024 09:46

You do not have nocturnal epilepsy.

Symptoms of nocturnal seizure
During a nocturnal seizure, a person may:

cry out or make unusual noises, especially right before the muscles tense - No
suddenly appear very rigid - No
wet the bed - No
twitch or jerk - Yes
bite their tongue - No
fall out of the bed. - No
be difficult to wake after the seizure - No
be confused or display other unusual behaviors after a seizure - No
wake suddenly for no apparent reason - No

You see? Your only matching symptom is twitching. Epilepsy does not present like your symptoms.

Hypnogogic jerks

A hypnic jerk, hypnagogic jerk, sleep start, sleep twitch, myoclonic jerk, or night start is a brief and sudden involuntary contraction of the muscles of the body which occurs when a person is beginning to fall asleep, often causing the person to jump and awaken suddenly for a moment.

Exactly what you are experiencing.
