To be really freaked out about seeing someone that wasn’t there??

My partners mum, step-dad, brother and 2 nieces are on holiday at the seaside so to we took our little one for the a day trip to have a beach day with his cousins today.

As we were driving into where they are staying and my partner was packing I said to him ‘I didn’t know your whole family was here’ when I saw his grandma standing next to his mum. He must have assumed that I was talking about his stepdad as he didn’t respond to it in a weird way/ask what I meant.

Then when we were inside I asked where his grandma had gone and where she was sleeping as they only have 2 bedrooms. Well it turns out that she isn’t there and is at home and I couldn’t have seen her because she’s not there??

What on earth happened?? What/who did I see?? Am I crazy now? 🙈

It's 10:35 US time now so very late afternoon in the UK.

Inquiring minds wish to know

How the heck is Granny?

freakedoutseeingthings · 31/07/2024 15:36

He called her and she answered so she’s alive and we’re going to visit her tomorrow. I still feel a bit weird though 🫣

"CurlewKate

Yet, shortened form of Yeti?"

How very silly.

I wish this would happen to me. My parents have passed and I would love to be able to see then even just a glimmer.

I haven't seen my Mum at all, although she has been in some very vivid dreams. When I saw my Dad I was very much awake. It would be lovely if we could somehow conjure up those we wanted to see and have a chat, but I think it is just random.

I feel sorry for people who don't believe this sort of thing happens and if it does happen to them they have to put a logical spin on it to explain it away. Its as if they are afraid that some people might think they are foolish in some way. By closing themselves off to these sort of possibilities they are only having a very narrow view of life.

To those people who say they haven't seen someone who "wasn't there", how do you know?

I like the poem,

As I was coming down the stair, I met a man who wasn't there,
He wasn't there again today, Oh how I wish he'd go away.

I have had 3 of those visual hallucinations which all happened before I fell asleep. They were a cross between a spider web, a crane fly and a fairy. It was like white gossamer threads created into something I have never seen before floating across my bed.
Very scary as I knew I was awake and I followed its path across the room. I reached out for my phone to turn on the torch and when I looked back it was gone. It was so real, I even got up and turned on the light and looked everywhere for it until I realised I have never seen anything like it before so it didnt exist. Had it been something that could have existed I would have sworn blind it was real.

Any update on granny OP? I'm also totally sceptical of woo type things, but my immediate thought reading this was... oh no, someone needs to check on granny

rainbowstardrops · 31/07/2024 13:51

Have you checked that granny is ok yet?!

OP I’m confused about where you were when you saw her. Were you in the car? Where was your partner packing? Where did you see grandma?

Surely it's not that confusing? Packing=Parking. They were driving in, DP was parking and OP saw granny

Probably someone who looked similar and you assumed it was her.

@LiterallyOnFire

It's bingo with animals and corresponding poop!

Did you know wombats have cubed poop?

I did know this, they are also quite cuddly as babies but very smelly. I have cuddled a variety of rescued baby marsupials.

I got annoyed with the meekat advert when the male wombat arrived claiming to have carried a toad in his pouch!

My eyes are hurting because of all the rolling they are doing. Guess what? I saw my granny's face in a pizza, then a black cat crossed my path, then a magpie flew overhead, so I cancelled my holiday in Timbuktu and flew home in a 'panicky mess', and do you know what? She was right as rain! Watching Countdown would you believe! I reckon she is a CF because she wouldn't reimburse the flight cost.

It’s always the gullible who quote Hamlet in this context when they clearly don’t know the play.

The play having a different context to this doesn't make that phrase less relevant.

There are more things in heaven and on this earth than any one persons intellect or beliefs can fathom. Thats just how it is.

And things can be applied to more than one scenario.

Wife2b · 31/07/2024 12:13

We need an update on Granny OP.

notsureicandoitagain · 31/07/2024 12:06

@freakedoutseeingthings any update

I've experienced similar with pets and people but put it down to brain rather than woo.

Waking dreams though, they are scary as feel so real at the time, much more than the above. Again though, brain thing rather than woo.

“I see dead people.”

I see gullible people.

I see closed minded people.

Go on, explain exactly what happens to us when we die, with evidence please?

If you listen to a few NDE podcasts you might start to question it...

A few weeks after my dad died I took my mum out for the day with my sister. We visited a lake in Chichester. My mum and sister went out on a row boat on the lake. I sat with the bags at a table by the lake in a Riverside cafe. My sister and mum appeared in their boat. They had startled and confused expressions on their faces. My sister came over and said she looked over at me and saw dad sitting next to me smiling.

Ooh! I love things like this!
♥️
