Hallelujah. The Welsh Moron has been charged

Some 'good' news at last. The paedophile Huw Edwards, the public face of our public service broadcaster, has been charged with sexual offences. He's hidden in the Priory for more than a year whilst trousering his full salary from the BBC and claiming his mental illness made him download child pornography. I thought he was going to get away with it, but somebody at the CPS has had the guts to charge this moron. Thank god.

Hmm. You mean she had no idea that her husband of twenty-five years and the man she had five children with, had desire for the opposite sex? I wonder. The two of them were trousering nearly three-quarters of a million pounds a year between them and I'm sure being Mrs. Huw Edwards resulted in lots of status and fabulous invitations. I do not think she can have known the extent to it but I simply find it impossible to believe that she didn't suspect something. In his last years he got very careless with the images. There were rumours all over the BBC that he behaved inappropriately with junior members of staff and as Ms Flind works there, it is unlikely she didn't pick up on it. She did, after all, produce a news programme.

Yes he is, but that is completely irrelevant to the awful crime he has allegedly committed. ( I say allegedly for legal reasons, not expressing an opinion on his guilt either way).

I feel so, so sorry for his wife (now STBX) Vicky Flind.

When the allegations came out last year she went to bat for him, acted as his spokesperson, stood between him and the media whilst he was in hospital.

She has been so, so betrayed.

You seem more concerned with the fact that he is Welsh than anything else Op. I find that extraordinary, as I said earlier.
I would always focus on the despicable crime not where the perpetrator was born.

I'm more concerned about Huw receiving the 'justice' he deserves. Still, sharing a cell with a big hairy trans guy probably won't bother him too much. At least that pompous air of his has been punctured through his own hypocrisy. He really is the lowest of the low. Spare a thought for those he has injured, not least his own five children

Far from being a moron, it goes to show how manipulative and clever sex offenders can be. They will groom others into trusting them, portray themselves as kind, get themselves into a position of respectability and won’t be afraid to play the mental health card to hide their offending. They are not only found at the BBC but in many highly thought of institutions. I hope his victims get some sort of justice.

Huw Edwards is another example of a paedophile who needs his balls cut off.

Simple and straightforward forward, all paedophiles and sex offenders need to be castrated to protect Women, Girls, and Children.

No messing about off with their balls as soon as there convicted.

Almost daily I hear in the media about men who've sexually abused women and children, it's time the Government brought in castration of all sex offenders.

I never feel the need to put English infront of vile perpetrators. Their nationality would always be an afterthought to the crime.

He happens to be Welsh, just as Savile and many others happened to be English.
You’d be hard pushed to find people in the UK saying ‘the ENGLISH paedophile Savile’

No need to point out he's Welsh and moron as a derogatory term is not a word that should be used these days.

However, as you did phrase it that way, moron is Welsh for carrot and that's how I read it and was momentarily confused.

It's tragic all round.

I'm not defending him - but I was devastated to discover it was Huw. He was my favourite newsreader/broadcaster. He was absolutely the last person I suspected - although my son knew via social media quite early on, and I was in denial. I've never quite recovered from this bombshell.

To me it's absolutely baffling. The idea that paedophiles are sad, lonely 'losers' is clearly misleading.

There were threads on him when it first came out last year. Those of us who said he was using MH to hide from his crimes, hoping to cover them up, were branded disgusting. The original charges should be looked at again. A married man of 60 has no business sexually messaging a 17 year old, then threatening them to keep quiet. To allow the MET to judge these crimes should be questioned now so many have been sacked themselves for sexual crimes, grooming and DV.
