To have allowed my dc watch the Olympic opening ceremony?

Creepingivy · 27/07/2024 03:10

I was shocked at the library scene leading to a threesome.

The mocking of Christians in the last supper scene.

The feminization of males & the sheer number of transvestites on parade. And a child thrown in the midst of them.

This is a sporting event, why the need to have it so highly sexulaised? My dc were thankfully howling with laughter at parts "the smurf man" singing (complete with his painted bulge) had us all in stitches.

I feel there was a social conditioning agenda to the opening ceremony & it was completely inappropriate given that it is for family viewing. Sexulaised behaviour should not be displayed to children.

I'm surprised your kids didn't take themselves off to bed after the first three minutes. This one was boring as fuck!

Are they “pretending to be women”?

Yes, they are. That is what drag is all about!

No, they’re performing drag, which has various roots and origins as theatre all over the world. Some people have said “dressed resembling a girl” started in the theatre when women weren’t allowed on stage, and men played female parts as well.

You've, without knowing it, answered the problem. That women weren't allowed on stage, that IS WHY men dressed as women. And now, even in an age where women ARE allowed to perform, men are still aping us, as if we are not there and are not allowed to perform. Drag has roots pre-suffrage, when women had zero rights. So WHY does it still....exist today? It's like they are FLAUNTING that era in our faces, rubbing our faces in it, when surely men dressed as women should have died the moment we were allowed out of the house and on a stage.

That is what makes drag queen existing today, all the more like pouring salt, bleach, acid into the wounds of women. Once we got the right to leave the house and to perform on stage, drag should have disappeared and ceased to exist.

As to the rapist volleyball player that people on here desperately resort to as whataboutery, the topic of the thread is the OPENING....CEREMONY. Can you read and comprehend English? If you want to discuss that rapist (and the outcry against him is very justified) then create a thread on that. T.H.I.S. .....T.H.R.E.A.D is about the opening ceremony. Let me spell it out for you since many seem very mentally slow.
O.P.E.N.I.NG.....C.E.R.E.M.O.N.Y. Opening Ceremony. The rapist didn't (to my knowledge, I didn't see watch it) peform at the opening ceremony. Do you need the dictionary definitions of those words 'opening' and 'ceremony'? Please just go away with your strawmen and whataboutery to derail the thread. Start a new thread if you want to discuss the horrible rapist.

The posters in denial still won't point out where all the women dressed up as male transvestites were in the opening ceremony. These men wouldn't dare let women mock & ridicule them which is why we were only subjected to the males larking as females.

But then if you’re intersex, you don’t by definition fit into either category of male or female, that’s the point. Someone decides for you at birth.

Oh ffs! How is there so much IGNORANCE on Intersex, even today.

you don’t by definition fit into either category of male or female

WRONG. Wrong, Wrong, WRONG. Intersex just have genitals that don't match their chromosomes. BUT, they DO fit into either male or female. A blood test will tell which. Intersex people are not both or neither. They are still EITHER male, OR female.

This is 2024. How are people still this devastatingly ignorant and ill-informed on Intersex/DSDs?

SoreAndTired1 · 29/07/2024 08:48

HolyGround13 · 28/07/2024 23:46

I referred to intersex people, which is when babies are born with both male and female chromosomes or reproductive systems or genitals. A doctor has to decide if they are more make of female. That has nothing to do with trans people, which is why I brought it up specifically as an example of why cisgender can be a useful term.

Just to pull you up right here @HolyGround13 , you don't seem to have any medical or even working knowledge of intersex people at all. Not even the basics. NO HUMAN BEING is ever born with "both" male and female chromosomes. They are born with EITHER male OR female chromosomes. Not both. The fact that a blood test will determine what sex intersex people are, proves this.

TheKeatingFive · 29/07/2024 08:35

Saying things like “men” “women” and “biological women” is actually more confusing because intersex people exist.

No it isn't, because all people with DSDs are either male or female. HTH.

I’m not sure why the child was onstage, she seemed to be a talented dancer, and I didn’t see any inappropriate moves. Perhaps they were nodding to drag story time. If you are worried about the welfare of children, why are you not in uproar about the Dutch volleyball player who is competing who is a convicted child rapist?

Why all this outrage aimed at drag queens when there is a literal child rapist being allowed to compete? And a prime example of why men, cisgender men, are still the biggest threat to children in terms of sexual abuse.

I disagree about it not being meaningful. Having wording for what people were born as, or identified as at birth is helpful. Saying things like “men” “women” and “biological women” is actually more confusing because intersex people exist. Using cisgender isn’t just to help in situations where someone is trans

Oh please, with this 'wHaT aBoUt InTeRsEx' bs. Intersex are still either male OR female. That they are intersex, is irrelevant. A blood test will show they are either male....OR female. It's as simple as that. They are not two sexes in one. Intersex people have REPEATEDLY asked that they be left out of this debate and that they stop being weaponised.

Why did Thomas feel the need to sue then? Why not try out for the male team as he is a biological male?
I'm having a great day already thank you, enjoying reading articles re the olympics pushback with my morning coffee 😁 Woke is dead, the world is pushing back & will not accept it!
Can you not read? @TheKeatingFive has pointed out there are two men competing in the women's boxing & another man in the women's football. Not good enough. Hopefully the world will unite & demand a stop to this rubbish & all the wokeness these people are trying to normalise & infiltrate into our society. As the pushback has shown, it's not wanted.

You said Thomas never competed internationally however Thomas had every intention of attempting to get a Olympic spot even going as far as taking legal action.
Why didn't Thomas tryout for the men's team you know in it's actual birth sex category. If Thomas had been so desperate to go to the Olympics that's what needed to be done 🤣🤣 Women's sports, spaces, prisons & private areas for biological females only thank you!

Do you not understand the distinction between wanting to do something and actually doing it?

Actually, never mind. Neither Lia Thomas or any other trans women are relevant to this Olympics where none of them are competing. I hope you get help with your obsession - it’s weird to bring up trans people at every opportunity.

Have the day you deserve.

Or do you just like to look at photos of trans people so much you can’t help yourself but bring up them up constantly?

Get your facts straight. Thomas absolutely planned to try out for the Olympic team. You posted a picture of swimmers & I replied that thankfully the audience including children will not be subjected to the sight of Thomas in the women's competition. I'm delighted that common sense won out here & in the athletics but it's not nearly enough. There is a lot of work to be done but the Olympic ceremony has really woken the world up 😁

Which of my facts was wrong?

Trans swimmer Lia Thomas' Olympic hopes are dashed after a losing legal battle

Thomas made history in 2022, becoming the first transgender woman to win an NCAA swimming championship.

Thankfully Lia is not competing, but there are two men competing in the women's boxing (BOXING) and a guy on one of the women's football teams. There may be more, I don't know.

Yes, it appears that the IOC's new approach is to still allow males to compete as women but to ask the worldwide media not to say that they are male.

So what they have learned from Tokyo is that male athletes competing in women's categories goes down like a cup of cold sick with most of the world, who don't see this as progressive at all (so we won't be seeing any more "stunning and brave" Laurel Hubbard style reporting") but that's not a good enough reason for them to ban it.

Does anyone know if L. Thomas qualified for the US men's Olympic swimming team 🤔😂

Can you understand why I feel some frustration that there has been so much emphasis on the drag element of the ceremony and such a lack of reaction about his inclusion? I feel uneasy that our society is very quick to call out the drag acts and the only reaction to the convicted man was booing!

What you would or wouldn’t want your own kids involved in is fair enough. I tried to find out more about that child (is she a dancer, is she a competition winner etc) but couldn’t see much. Perhaps that is for her protection.

I tried to do the same but there is no information online about the child.

I wholeheartedly agree with you about the rapist. It's getting more & more common that the time does not match the crime especially in cases of paedophilia. It is beyond the pale that he is competing, his federation, government & teammates should never have even entertained the idea never mind select him for the team.. Even the case itself was so premeditated, his intent was well planned out.. It makes me sick to my stomach.

There hasn't been a lack of reaction to the rapist that I've seen. Paula Radcliffe supported him on Twitter (fuck knows why) and got a lot of flak. If people were actually booing him in person, that's quite intense, what else can they do, riot? But yes, obviously he shouldn't have been allowed to participate.

I’d be tempted to throw something personally, but no doubt I’d get a longer sentence than he did for that.

I mean I was hoping their team would lose sponsorships and some pressure would be applied so he didn’t get picked, but not much anyone can do at this stage, as you say.
