To think this double barrelled name will sound odd

So we’re sorting DS surname , we’re not married.

My last name is Indian and DP‘s is english.

would it be strange to double barrel the names?
Has anyone else done this?

My ex did it with his now wife; it sounds fine! Englishname-Sharma.
