Perhaps women aren't cut out to be on the front line?

Footage of the female officers at the attempted assassination of Trump, and of the scenes at Manchester Airport makes me think that perhaps we're not best suited in those situations.

Would those four violent men have dared attack male officers in the same way?

Yes, we all know a phallus deflects bullets. Maybe if the women had the Wonder Woman belt and cuffs you'd be okay with it?

Seriously OP, wtf?

I don't think anyone is necessarily suited to those situations are they ? The Trump attempted assassination scenario, they didn't let him get up until they knew the shooter was down, it was audible on the mike on the podium, there were also people with very big guns on the podium before they attempted to move him, so chances are the shorter stature women was as much good as the taller chap with sunglasses posing for the photographer ?

@zoemum2006 You obviously have not served on the front line in the military like me then 🤔

Oh, there's a big strong man here to explain things to us!

Omg didn't know it was the 1920s.

Yes and which female recruits also have to undergo and obviously do so successfully because otherwise they wouldn’t be working would they?

Correct.

Men and women also have to complete a set test within a certain time frame. At least that's the case in the military where men have to do it in a shorter time.

One more thing - unlike actively serving soldiers, police officers ARE civilians. Too many people think police officers are not civilians. 👍

BouquetGarni224 · 25/07/2024 20:32

Who was it who put down the Australian incel mass murdering shooter again?

Let me think .....

Aussieland · 25/07/2024 20:30

This thread is terrifying. I can’t believe some women think like this.

I shall get back to my baking and cleaning toilets and put out my head my female colleagues who do everything the men do only without being dicks about it including winching out of helicopters, rescuing people off cliffs, spending 3 days on search and rescue etc (shock horror even rescuing men bigger than them 😮)

earlymorningcurlewcall · 25/07/2024 20:26

I was very surprised to see the woman who was protecting Trump. He's 6'3".

I don't particularly care that she's a woman, only that she was substantially smaller than him. How can you be deemed safe to take a bullet for him if he's twice her size?

They still do close quarter combat, especially with a pistol, e.g. Browning 9mm is a very good option for personal protection and CQC.

Police officers and soldiers still require physical combat skills. Its part of their training.

A gun doesn't do any less damage to a man. Those types of personal protection jobs, its really not about physical combat skills.

Its about spotting risks, evaluating a situation, reacting calmly and quickly and applying training not panicking. Strategising for example to determine the lowest risk exit route. Changing a plan in response to a situation.

Do these posters think women apply and they just say “sure go on ahead love, here’s your wee uniform, do you want to start tomorrow
or next week?”

The police force has a long and rigorous application process involving physical ability testing. If the women on the force couldn’t do the job they wouldn’t have passed.

The bigger concern is those who have been on the force for 15/20 years plus and are now fat middle aged doughnut eaters who couldn’t out run their own shadow anymore. Mostly the blokes we see, but obviously it could be either.

andsisters · 25/07/2024 14:25

Obviously but that's more of an equal playing field.

If someone was attacking me, I would want a man defending me. Personally.

Why do I get the feeling you’re a man pretending to be a woman 😂

For all those that disagree with the OP, i'm still awaiting to see how many of them think there should be no mixed male and female sports, especially boxing ect. if so why is it any different.

After all they are all equally as good and capable.

Edited

You're drawing a false equivalence between sports and military operations there. Its not sound logic or reasoning, but a logical fallacy.

Sports is the human body in competition with another.

In military operations, technology is used heavily. Men and women can both use the same technology.

Two completely different things, what you said doesn't stand up.

You must struggle with grasping very basic
concepts if you think policing is anything like a boxing match.

thats a very stupid analogy. As I said before, policing is not about taking people on in a fight. Nor is it about possessing extreme strength- most officers are of fairly average build. Over a third of all officers are women and seem to manage fine. And according to your analogy, seeing as we have some male officers who are 25 years old, 6ft and 14 stone as well as some ones 45 years old, 5ft 8 and 9 stone, does this mean we should get rid of weight categories in boxing? No of course not. Some will be stronger than others and it’s not a job that requires you to have brute force because then that would be part of the requirements. There are currently no height requirements for joining the police and there will be female officers who are stronger than some of their male colleagues. It’s not the case that all men are stronger than all women - just that on average, men tend to be stronger. So in elite sport, where you are literally being judged on how your body performs and you are competing with the very top athletes, of course you have different categories (and weights for some sports). Policing is not like that and there are people of lots of different strengths and just because you can’t bench-press 100kg doesn’t mean you can’t be an excellent officer.

There shouldn't be mixed sex sports. Men and women are very different physiologically and men are generally stronger than women.

Police officers tend to be trained in how to defuse a situation and have tools such as a baton and taser to incapacitate someone. Men as well as women get hurt on the job and women have been in the police force doing their jobs very capably for a long time.

If women weren't physically capable of doing a job they wouldn't be employed.

OK, an article about the British Army there.

But it DOESN'T address a single thing I actually said, especially about the Caracal Battalion and the USAF pilot both of whom are actively serving in combat recently.

With confirmed kills as well. 🤷‍♂️

The militaries of the following countries allow women to serve in combat on the frontline:

Australia, Canada, Denmark, Eritrea, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Republic of Ireland, Israel, Lithuania, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, North Korea, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the US.

Take Israel as an example - Caracal Battalion is a female led unit which is 70% women to 30% men. They also have the first tank unit where the crew is 100% female. Caracal normally patrol the border between Israel and Egypt dealing with various threats from terrorism to smugglers, etc.

On 7th October 2023, Caracal Battalion killed 100 Hamas terrorists.

In December 2023, Caracal was called to go in on a special operation. These are highly dangerous military operations.

Caracal Battalion uses the American made M4 Carbine rifle which is a very accurate weapon. That weapon is still used by combat units in the Israel Defence Force whilst all other units have transitioned to the IWI Tavor.

More recently, in the United States Airforce, a female pilot just became the first to achieve something.

First American female pilot to engage and kill in an air-to-air contact.

So I have nothing but respect for them all.

Letting women join front-line Army fighting units a ‘failed exercise in political correctness’

I don't believe work like that plays into women's strong point at all

What females can't kick and stamp on people's heads? Female security guards are known at night clubs to defuse the situation.

The victim assaulted the officers. I guess next time they should just walk away and let them do what they're going to do. I hear this whole thing started after an officer asked someone to remove a head covering to search them. They didn't cooperate and punched the officer to the floor.

The police shouldn't bother anymore. Do away with the police as they can't do much of anything given how easy riots can start now. There's no point.

I read that the initial incident that the police was called out to was because another group of travellers started throwing racial slurs at some of the women in the group, and the men confronted them, which escalated into a fight. So, by your logic, the police shouldn't have confronted them because they were just defending their womenfolk? But instead (if that particular rumour is true) the police attacked the victims of racial abuse.

That might be a load of bollocks, nobody knows yet. It ultimately doesn't matter what happened beforehand - there is absolutely no excuse for police to use pepper spray, tasers, punches, kicks and headlocks on suspects who are either already restrained, or being compliant.

They're allowed to feel angry if a colleague's been hurt, but they're absolutely not allowed to act on that anger, and start whaling on people who aren't presenting a threat (and in at least one case, can't physically fight back).
