Sickening behaviour. Surely tasering the man is enough.
He is on the floor tasered so you give him some kickings to the head?

Hope this is properly investigated.
Greater Manchester Police have an awful reputation.

Police saying the pair - who are believed to have been part of the Tommy Robinson protest - had been taken into custody on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm (GBH).
Four people were arrested outside a pub in Whitehall on suspicion of assault on emergency workers. Four Met officers were assaulted.
One man was also held on suspicion of criminal damage and a racially aggravated public order offence after allegedly snapping a Palestinian flag and making a racially abusive remark, while another was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker after a police officer was kicked, the force said.

Thugs are gonna thug regardless of what "community" they belong to.

What do you mean why the need?

Because that's a pretty big part of what defines it as either excessive or reasonable

Really?

What do you think is the biggest part in what's reasonable here? Do you think it's the fact that a violent criminal was trying to seriously injure/possibly kill officers in an airport where there's guns, or your own view of what is proportional?

If you think it's the latter then please feel free to enlighten us all as to how you've reacted when someone has attempted to inflict a serious amount of violence on you, and your extensive knowledge of how human beings react in those situations.

@MyGladEagle the 15k number in 2015 is also just for England and Wales. Hence using the same bench mark.

MyGladEagle · 28/07/2024 13:46

ArseholeCatIsABlackAndWhiteCat · 28/07/2024 13:43

30k of which were assaults without injury and the total number was 41k, rather than more than 50k.

Still a massive increase , but no need to exaggerate.

Last year, there were 50,259 assaults on UK police officers – 40,330 in England
and Wales, 6,657 in Scotland, and 3,272 in Northern Ireland.

No need to downplay it to just England.

@MyGladEagle he's actually moving more after the kick. The female officer cuffs him without having to kick him in the head or otherwise. So why was there a need when he was on the floor , but not once he starts moving more? The kick to the head didn't incapacitate him , did it?

What do you mean why the need?

It's a fluent violent situation, not a lunchtime work meeting.

mommatoone · 28/07/2024 13:38

MyGladEagle · 28/07/2024 13:21

No your point is that you think someone laying down on the floor isn't a threat this is incorrect.

A single compliant suspect who hasn't attacked anyone laying down on the floor because they have been told to do so surrounded by several officers is unlikely to be a threat.

A violent attacker laying on the floor who's seriously injured several police officers and wouldn't go down till they were tased is a massive threat to an officer until both they, and the other person that's attacked them is in handcuffs.

This is real life, not some tv drama.

Especially when that officer has a gun strapped to his leg ,which blue top guys could have easily reached in those split seconds. Then the shit would have really hit the fan.

Innocent 🤣 the absolute scumbags that kicked off in an airport and assaulted armed police are hardly innocent. Fucking hell.

My point is that was before he was lying face-down. It’s for the Courts to deal with what went before.

He wasn't lying face down as a result of his own compliance he was tased.

Before that he was attempting to at best seriously injure the officer and at worst kill him.

You have no idea what the threat was at that point in time.

I've no idea why people on here have suddenly become experts on behaviour in violent situations when the most violent situation they've encountered is likely to be a spider biting them.

The post you are replying to has it and I doubt they’d make it to this stage

These criminals are lucky not to have been wiped out there on the spot by the firearms officers. In most other countries around the world, you fuck around with armed police and it's game over.

Released on bail, so charges are standing. And as for source - today’s video is good enough source. Those thugs were out of order and I hope the police officer gets back to his duty, while those two are jailed on multiple criminal offences including the unprovoked attack on Police.

Having seen the latest video release, I agree. Except the Officer needs to learn to control his temper.

PBandJ111 · 28/07/2024 12:51

The deaths in custody stats are misleading as about 65% are due to natural causes and the rest due to alcohol and drugs.

I can't believe those statistics. Even 15000 is 40 a day. I am surprised that anyone wants to go into policing and would be appalled if any of my children wanted to join despite my Grandad being in the met in much more lawful times.
