Sickening behaviour. Surely tasering the man is enough.
He is on the floor tasered so you give him some kickings to the head?

Hope this is properly investigated.
Greater Manchester Police have an awful reputation.

I saw Reform commending the police thug! Embarrassing 😳

The IOPC are investigating the PO actions towards a bystander as well.

Maybe the men fought back against the police as they were scared of being beaten... and after this, maybe more young, Asian men might feel like that, that they are actually just defending themselves.

By punching a woman? Scared? Ok!

So it’s not confirmed?

How so?

Where is the confirmation that the man in the floor is the same accused of breaking the police officers nose?

I’ve seen 4 people arrested, all now released pending enquiries.

Do you have a link confirming it was the same man please?

Armed officers were assaulted in an airport, imagine if their weapons had been snatched from them! Imagine the carnage they could have caused. Not only would your loved ones not have made it onto their flight but there might have been a possibility of never seeing them again!

Now we’re going to see the police vilified in the press and the perpetrators telling their sob story! This is what’s now going to happen isn’t it and this is why this country is now so fucked up! Press will have an absolute field day!

The man on the floor attacked a woman and broke her nose! I don’t really feel anything for him right now tbh!

I don’t care the age of the perpetrator, it matters not.

I would like to watch every moment of this attack on the police, armed police, in a busy airport, not just a two second snippet.

Imagine if this was your Mum, Sister, Wife, Niece, who had been punched in the face! He’s most likely done it before, so to be quite honest, just deserts!

Doesn't matter.

That is why we have law and judicial process.
We don't take the law into our own hands and we don't expect the police to take the law into their own hands and beat people up, no matter what they have done.

The police are there to uphold the law. This is what they swear when they become a police offficer

I (name) ...of (address)... do solemnly and sincerely declare and affirm that I will well and truly serve the King in the office of constable, with fairness, integrity, diligence and impartiality, upholding fundamental human rights and according equal respect to all people; and that I will, to the best of my power, cause the peace to be kept and preserved and prevent all offences against people and property; and that while I continue to hold the said office I will to the best of my skill and knowledge discharge all the duties thereof faithfully according to law

cakeorwine · 25/07/2024 20:25

I saw a 19 year old lying on the floor and having a police officer kick his head and then stamp on it.

Can you justify that?

You can understand why the copper did it but he'll likely be sacked and rightly so. Will probably end up working in "private security"

There’s ABSOLUTELY no reason to punch a woman in the face and break her nose, but there we go!

Great charge him and send him to jail if that report is accurate and they have the proof.

Both parties can be violent criminal scumbags, that's not mutually exclusive.

If the man on the floor who was kicked in the head violently assaulted someone prior to that and caused the damage alleged he should face the full weight of the law.

But that does not somehow make the actions of the police who have been caught on camera self defence or reasonable force.
The kick was absolutely 100% letting him have it out of anger, potentially in revenge

It did nothing to secure the area or make things safer. Talk of grenades or grabbing guns at that point is a nonsense, how did the kick go the head and stamp on the back guard against that danger in any way.

So both should be facing criminal charges even if the claim of the police (for which we've seen no evidence yet) is accurate

cakeorwine · 25/07/2024 20:29

The police are held to a higher standard.
It's that simple.
They are allowed to use reasonable force - but there is a time they have to stop.

Especially if the person under arrest is under control.

There is absolutely NO REASON to kick someone in the head. Especially when that person has been tasered and is laying on the floor and posing no threat. This is horrific and shocking and the officer deserves the same treatment that any other violent offender would get - a kick in the head can kill or seriously injure. Disgusting. There is no place for police brutality in civilized society - no excuses.

hmm @Gummybear23 it’s fine to watch a 12 second clip and make judgements, but did you also read this:

”During our response, three officers were assaulted. One female officer suffered a broken nose and the other officers were forced to the ground and suffered injuries which required hospital treatment.”

Do you know what it takes to subdue an unruly suspect who has attacked multiple officers and hospitalised one?

Perhaps some of the keyboard protesters who weirdly open a thread to get everyone piling in (excuse the allusion) could ask themselves what preceded this footage, and what does it take to subdue someone who has been that violent and belligerent in the lead up?

greengreyblue · 25/07/2024 20:17

Yes but the kick and stamp came after they had the situation under control. He was on the floor with several tasers pointing at him. Why not deploy the taser instead of stamping on his head??

WowReallysh · 25/07/2024 14:59

If someone had seriously assaulted your family member, would you not want to hit them a bit? Not just subdue but "give them a taste of their own medicine".

My only issue would be if the person being restrained hadn't been violent or if he had MH issue so that he wasn't legally responsible or in control for his violent actions.

If they respond in such an extreme way then they will be arrested and charged with assault. Just like the police officer her should be.

It's the kick in the head got me going 😳 apparently he's fighting for his life.yes police do use force but this was way over. Sorry just my opinion.

Has that been reported to be the case? Either way the officer who has been suspended pending an investigation, should not be retained.

I’m usually very suspicious of the police.
I remember the miners strike.

However I hope the policeman who kicked the man is sanctioned/ retrained whatever but doesn’t lose his job.

I hope the men who assaulted the police get the book thrown at them.
I see they’re already talking to The Sun.

Nobody should ever fuck about in airports.

^ this!
