Sickening behaviour. Surely tasering the man is enough.
He is on the floor tasered so you give him some kickings to the head?

Hope this is properly investigated.
Greater Manchester Police have an awful reputation.

The full video shows the reality. Violent thugs resisting arrest. The police then use violence to subdue them. One copper who had been attacked carries on a little longer than was ideal, but under the circumstances no issue in my view.

In what other job do you expect to be violently assaulted, then get pilloried when your actions are dissected in detail later?

I agree

I've now seen the whole video and it totally changes things.

@MauveCrow ermm no. The police approach the suspects when they are paying for their parking, presumably to arrest them for the previous fight/incident (why they were called to attend) which was fair enough. If they suspected any of the things you claimed then it was an absolute shit show as weapons/explosives/whatever could've been deployed several times over during the incident while the police was not in control and one man at least was free (at several points) to do as he wanted.

Ermmm No. The police would change their threat assessment after getting attacked, punched, and injured.

Most police interactions do result in violence, the fact this did probably made the copper wonder why they are physically grabbing and attacking someone carrying a loaded firearm. I know I would probably do anything I thought was required to eliminate that potential threat.

Are you really that moronic?

These idiots are lucky the police were restrained enough not just just shoot them dead.

Maybe the police should only be allowed to carry narwhal tusks in the future.

Usercyzabc · 28/07/2024 09:54

@Zebedee999 i meant to say ‘meet’.

I stand corrected in that case.(Still haven’t met women in real life who’d condone this sort of violence I will also add.)

There were also online rumours started that the sons had kicked off because a police officer had hit their mother in the face. As far as I can tell she got hit by one of her own sons.

I guess that line of compensation has been shut down.

I saw those two men sad on a sofa looking very innocent and playing the victim. But now more video has emerged ... wow what a pair of violent thugs. And we haven't seen what happened on the plane yet.
Well done Police we don't need these violent men in this country or on the streets. Hope they are visitors and can be deported.

They are supposed to be professionals. I assume they have had years and years of training.

Training consists of years of someone grabbing you from behind, punching you repeatedly in the head and breaking your nose.
You only pass if you make your attacker a nice cup of tea and discuss how racist it is to defend yourself.

Having seen the footage, I’d like to change my vote please.

A perfect example of people jumping to conclusions without having all the facts.

rosiers · 28/07/2024 09:46

Alltheprettyseahorses · 28/07/2024 09:40

Yes. We are yet to see the full picture. It's not helpful for the public to be exposed to isolated clips in this way.

If we are to look at the context, we need to consider it all from the alleged argument on the plane, the alleged racial assault on the mother at baggage claim followed by the alleged fight at starbucks, the bodycam footage of the police on their approach, the assault on police officers, the detention of the perpetrators, and the "handling" of bystanders following the incident.

GabriellaMontez · 28/07/2024 09:45

rosiers · 28/07/2024 09:38

@eggplant16 there have been various suspiciously lazy comments relating to the "community" of these men throughout this thread, yet no one has managed to explain what they mean (or really mean). So far we have had "whatever community they belong to" and "the group of people protesting outside Rochdale police station" 😂

I read that GMP have been on touch with 'community leaders' about this incident.

Do you think this is suspicious too? What are you suspicious of?

Alltheprettyseahorses · 28/07/2024 09:45

Looking at the footage, I'd argue the police did everything by the book. Stamping in front of someone's head (not on it 🙄) is a sensible shock tactic, even the kick is because it's not safe to move the suspect's head with a hand that can be grabbed.

UniversalAunt · 28/07/2024 09:44

My understanding is - I don’t have source to quote - that this group of people were disruptive during the flight, so airport security/UK police were involved as the flight landed.

There is a lot more to be discovered from interviews & all evidence captured to give a full picture of what actually happened. Bear in mind that armed police routinely patrol UK airports on active duty to protect national security. Once the civilian police could not contain the incident & the threat to the public increased then additional support would have been brought in to contain the situation.

Armed police are not random ‘plods’ patrolling the high street at chucking out time, they are carefully selected, highly trained, supervised & work everyday at a level of threat that few of us know or imagine. It is standard procedure for any police officer involved in some incidents to come off duty pending formal enquiries.

None of what we have seen online so far begins to tell the full story, we shall all have to wait to find out more. In the meantime, feelings run high & the risk of civil unrest intensifies.

They are and they do. In this horribly violent confrontation where a pair of yobs had already beaten two women to the ground, the copper reacted for a few seconds too long. I have no issue with that, better that than all the coppers beaten to the ground and the yobs get their guns. So the copper made a mistake... who hasn't made a mistake in their job? Several posters here think humans are all perfect... they are not.

Usercyzabc · 28/07/2024 09:43

@rosiers sensible, as I’ve yet to await any Muslim women who condone violence against their own gender.

EsmaCannonball · 28/07/2024 09:43

You have to wonder about the motivations of whoever put the cropped video online. What did they want? Sectarian riots? And the media (even the BBC with their supposed fact-checking department) did their bidding.

As for the solicitor. Well, he is a very interesting character.

These violent yobs were willing to risk Manchester being torched and ordinary people living in fear in order to cover up their own crime and make a bit of money. Lovely people.

A lot of public service jobs. Bus drivers, NHS, teaching etc. All, also regularly assaulted on the job.

Yes and if they need to defend themselves then they have my full support.

There definitely seems to be an awful lot more to this - police are appealing for information on this and 2 earlier incidents. www.gmp.police.uk/news/greater-manchester/news/news/2024/july/gmp-opens-public-portal-in-appeal-for-further-information-about-events-leading-up-to-footage-filmed-in-manchester-airport-terminal-two/

Who’s we? And why do you assume the PP meant it’s Muslims who condone violence against women? You mentioned religion not the PP

OK I await clarification.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 28/07/2024 09:37

I mean, who hasn’t broken someone’s nose and kicked the shit out of someone only to realise it was a police officer they hit?

If only there was a way to distinguish the police, I don’t know, special clothing or anything.

It’s a bizarre line

I think people look at everything bar the actual violence from the men

while not knowing if they are armed, have explosives, or are motivated by terrorism at a major airport.

If you have those fears and concerns then that's not how you approach the suspect(s).

The "suspects" approached the police and attacked them FFS.

Jesus there is some bat shit criminal apologists on here today.
