Sickening behaviour. Surely tasering the man is enough.
He is on the floor tasered so you give him some kickings to the head?

Hope this is properly investigated.
Greater Manchester Police have an awful reputation.

Ah I've got it now, we need to better educate lawyers in this Country.

How do you know that the violent criminal wasn't going to take the officers gun and shoot people, what was his state of mind at the time?

You beat me to it….edited to add, again, fucking hell.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 28/07/2024 10:38

They were literally incapacitated while being tased on the floor

Tasers do not incapacitate people for more than a couple of seconds. By the time the man hit the floor he would have been ready to get back up again with no ill effects whatsoever. He starts to move in the video, you can see his head moving.

CheeseandOnionCrispFan · 28/07/2024 10:36

He was obviously not being reasonable or compliant & I expect he's delivered far worse brutality on other people. Personally, he got what he deserved - the Police have a hard enough job anyway without edited 'highlights' skewing what was most likely a very difficult situation for them. I don't have sympathy for thuggish criminals.

rosiers · 28/07/2024 10:33

@MyGladEagle I don't think we are talking about the same incident.

There is nothing to suggest that anyone tried to take an officers gun to shoot someone.

The kick was not given to someone whilst they were violently out of control. They were literally incapacitated while being tased on the floor.

I'm not an expert in disabling violent criminals. I'm a lawyer. Should those men be convicted (I hope they are) then the court will look to mitigating factors and aggravating factors in determining an appropriate sentence.

What is it you would like to see happen here then?

If you're in a situation where someone is about to take an officers gun and shoot you, would you like the police officers main concern to be what measure of force is the most fair on the person about to do that?

What is it that makes you think erring on the side of caution when applying force to someone that's violently out of control has a successful outcome? Are you an expert in disabling violent criminals?

back yards and all that…eh @rosiers

MyGladEagle · 28/07/2024 10:28

rosiers · 28/07/2024 10:23

@MyGladEagle my point is purely procedural and based in fairness. Either you look at the controversial kick in isolation, or you look at the context. But you cannot pick and choose which context you can be arsed with.

If we're going to consider the state of mind of the officer in order to mitigate their actions, we should be considering the state of mind of all involved.

Again, I don't condone the violent perpetrators. They are a disgrace. The assault on the police was disgraceful. But there is more to this, and it should all be investigated.

I actually think the media and politicians should be banned from using the word 'community.'

Agree

And what is this shite about a cyst. That solicitor is a stirring shite

Usercyzabc · 28/07/2024 10:18

I think the use of ‘force continuum’ settles this matter

EsmaCannonball · 28/07/2024 10:18

I know a few police officers and they do face regular violence but it is usually drunks taking a swing at them or offenders struggling during an arrest. It is not usually someone pummelling them repeatedly in the head after they have pulled their taser. It is not someone doing this at a high-risk terrorist target.

Jmaho · 28/07/2024 10:16

@Janiie they won't though. There's still plenty of virtue signallers on here still giving their support to them. I despair.

Usercyzabc · 28/07/2024 10:14

@eggplant16 what is stupid? That I can’t help the fact I’ve never met a Muslim woman who’s condoned violence against other women? How is that stupid?

Janiie · 28/07/2024 10:14

'Poor split second judgement and a gun sounds like a worrying combination.'

Hardly as he didn't shoot him did he Confused.

They'd suffered a sustained violent attack, so what if he lashed out at the end. So what.

I hope all the defenders of the poor 'brain cyst' violent thug go on twitter to retract their support for the absolutely awful scum.

Jmaho · 28/07/2024 10:13

@Gummybear23 great update from you. Now that the unmotivated racial brutality line has been shut down they can go down the mental health route. Most likely caused by living in such an awful intolerant country such as the UK. Dear god

MyGladEagle · 28/07/2024 10:12

rosiers · 28/07/2024 09:46

Yes. We are yet to see the full picture. It's not helpful for the public to be exposed to isolated clips in this way.

If we are to look at the context, we need to consider it all from the alleged argument on the plane, the alleged racial assault on the mother at baggage claim followed by the alleged fight at starbucks, the bodycam footage of the police on their approach, the assault on police officers, the detention of the perpetrators, and the "handling" of bystanders following the incident.

I do wonder, had the female police officer hit her head and died after the vicious punch, the male officer then been choked to death because she wasn't able to get up and taze the suspect, what you would be saying?

It's rather peculiar that you're so concerned about what an officer does when his and his colleagues life is being put on the line. Are you planning to go around viciously attacking people and putting their lives in danger, and hoping that you get treated with the utmost duty of care when you do it?

eggplant16 · 28/07/2024 10:11

Usercyzabc · 28/07/2024 09:43

@rosiers sensible, as I’ve yet to await any Muslim women who condone violence against their own gender.

How stupid. Have you spoken to many?

NotAlexa · 28/07/2024 10:11

AnnieSnap · 26/07/2024 18:16

Interesting that the man in question was released shortly after being arrested without charge isn’t it?

Also, you think it’s acceptable, or even safe, for an armed Officer to act violently due to adrenaline? Scary!

Released on bail, so charges are standing. And as for source - today’s video is good enough source. Those thugs were out of order and I hope the police officer gets back to his duty, while those two are jailed on multiple criminal offences including the unprovoked attack on Police.

OneTC · 28/07/2024 10:10

As people point out the police face violence every day in their jobs, and arrest violent criminals on the regs.

They mostly do it without stamping on people.

Like literally every day, maybe even every hour there's a copper somewhere, wrestling some scumbag to the ground and putting themselves in danger. And not stamping on anyone.

Kicking and stamping (and later spraying the people against the wall, interesting it was all the same guy, was he still riding the wave then?) is the story. Police doing normal police things, scumbags doing normal scumbag things, isn't a story, it's a daily occurrence.

I get some people don't care what happened to the guy on the floor and I feel little sympathy for anyone that fights and then gets a kicking. My issues are with a highly trained armed policeman that apparently gets a bit extra and emotional in dispensing what is unfortunately a likely part of his daily duties. Poor split second judgement and a gun sounds like a worrying combination.

rosiers · 28/07/2024 10:09

@Getonwitit which community?

Getonwitit · 28/07/2024 10:08

I am so not sorry that these violent thugs that attacked the police got a kicking. Too many males of a certain community think they are untouchable, time they understood they are not.

wtfissummer · 28/07/2024 10:06

*talking. Not walking

wtfissummer · 28/07/2024 10:06

rosiers · 28/07/2024 09:38

@eggplant16 there have been various suspiciously lazy comments relating to the "community" of these men throughout this thread, yet no one has managed to explain what they mean (or really mean). So far we have had "whatever community they belong to" and "the group of people protesting outside Rochdale police station" 😂

The "community" came from the media when walking about meeting with them

Quite why the police would need to is another matter.

Those "protesting" are troublemakers

cakeorwine · 28/07/2024 09:25

Do you think in the time it happened that they realised they were attacking police officers, let alone armed police officers?

It seemed to happen very quickly. From their perspective, they are standing in a queue when 4 people turn up, put you in a headlock - and then the fight starts.

Do you think it's possible they didn't realise they were police, let alone armed police?

We haven't got any audio - and the body cams will show any conversation that happened

Didn't realise they were police? Christ almighty have you ever seen armed airport police? They stand out a mile? Why would anyone who is not a police officer be patrolling with large firearms?
