We are in this situation because we all (or most of us) agreed that male people could be women. And the only way out of it is to acknowledge that they are not actually women, and never can be.

I don’t believe most of us ever did agree male people could be women. The majority of the federal public had no idea this batshittery was going on until it started to get out of control and we got to where we are.

Women have still lost out and suffered because of biology deniers and people insisting men can become women. Maybe people like yourself seeing as defending Lia's position and calling him she are the main points of your post.

Just because sporting bodies are finally standing up to the 'men's feelings takes priority over everything' brigade brings no comfort to the women who have already lost out.

look at leah thomas the swimmer.... was at the bottom of his league as a male swimmer, and now, hey presto he is now a she (i have no issue with this) and she is now competing and beating bilogical woman hands down

Lia Thomas does not compete as a woman anymore. This was changed ages ago. Also British swimming and world swimming have a female and open/male catagory.

There was a time when the world went mad as it happened. But it was responded to pretty quickly and she has lost a legal case to be able to compete as female.

It doesn't matter why they're doing it.

OK, they feel really really sad that they were born the "wrong" sex and they really really deeply feel that the universe played a cruel trick on them.

But that's how we've ended up with Lia Thomas competing in women's swimming events.

Because we all agreed that people like Lia are now "she", and so the next step was, "Well since she's a she, she can compete in women's sports."

The International Olympic Committee said something along the lines of, "Everybody understands that trans women are women" when defending its decision to let Laurel Hubbard compete in the women's weightlifting in Tokyo. Hubbard didn't win, but still deprived an 18 year old female athlete from a developing country of the opportunity to compete.

If you are willing to say someone is a woman is becomes very difficult to explain why that person should not be allowed in places or sports which are for women.

If the previous government actually had really cared about women, instead of empty rhetoric, it would have been easy to effectively ban those who have gone through male puberty from competing in women's sports. No public (usually lottery) funding, no use of public facilities for competitions.

Most British sports bodies and also world sports bodies have updated their transgender policies the past year or so and have female and male/open categories.

Cycling certainly has so despite the link above I'm not how sure how it's happening at club level.

My ds is a swimmer. Clubs have to follow aquatics gb/ home nations gender policy when they run meets.

You can only swim in the female category if you are biologically born with female sex.

I know there's threads continuously on here with regards makes competing as females but in the real world of elite sport it just isn't happening.

Unbelievable that this has to be said. Long overdue for cricket, football and the other sports bodies pandering to these men cheats to wake up and start doing what they're meant to be doing. Ensure that women's sport is for women - no exceptions.
