I will probably make some mackerel pate and have it on a baguette with salad and walnuts. Then a coffee and some chocolate

Quiche and salad, just starting to feel hungry from my mushroom omelet breakfast which was delish.

Runki · 16/07/2024 11:30

@weareallqueens I think I love you. 😂 Mild curry???

NessasBoots · 16/07/2024 11:29

Fresh baked wholemeal seeded sourdough cob, sliced thick and toasted

Cornish sea salted butter spread thickly.
Heaven

Moier · 16/07/2024 11:28

Only had my morning cuppa.
I'm going to make scrambled eggs on a toasted bagel.
Tea will be Costco chicken Kiev ( real chicken breasts) with new Jersey potatoes and salad.

Cardamomandlemons · 16/07/2024 11:28

Feta, tomato and cucumber salad. I keep everything uncut in the fridge at work and slice it up when I'm bored of working and feel like some kitchen chat.

@paywalled I've never made chicken liver pate (I know there is an accent but can't find it on keyboard!!!) or a smoother pate, but coarse mackerel pate is very easy. I like it very coarse so I just shred the mackerel with lots of cracked black pepper, lemon. Rather than setting it with butter as some do I just put lots of butter (and rocket) on the bread. Sometimes I add a small amount of greek yoghurt if I want it to have a bit more moisture - it really depends on the fillets you have. Cross to open the fridge and see that DP guzzled lots of the fillets last night!

Sounds lovely, thank you! Yes, I don't know where the accented e is on a pc keyboard either 😂and too lazy to go into Symbols 😂

A free lunch provided by my employer. It could be a sandwich, or it could be a full three course job. Depends what's on the menu and what I feel like eating. I acknowledge I'm spoilt by this, and retirement will come as a bit of a shock on the lunch front.

nomoreyesterdays · 16/07/2024 11:25

Everyone's lunch sounds delicious! I'll be having a chicken sandwich (made with left over roast chicken), a salad of grated carrot, cucumber and tomato with a homemade balsamic dressing and an orange.

Ham sandwich

amoobaa · 16/07/2024 11:22

Oh you’re all making me so hungry! Sounds delicious.

I don’t know… I’ve got gestational diabetes and am finding it really miserable having to prick my fingers throughout the day (since 11 weeks) to track my sugar levels (all totally in range except the morning one)… I’m super hungry because I’ve barely eaten today. I’m putting it off so I don’t have to deal with the clinical aspect of every tiny crumb.

However, your salads are inspiring me… I’m going to go and make a salad. Thank you.

Pascha · 16/07/2024 11:21

I had mushrooms and tomatoes on toast for breakfast so probably just coffee til dinner now.
Maybe an apple?

JurassicClark · 16/07/2024 11:21

DS2 is working from home today so I'm making one of his favourites. Omlette with leftover new potatoes, bacon and cheese in it, and a tomato salad.

I'm planning on a coffee and the last of the tea loaf for afternoon break.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 16/07/2024 11:21

Meeting my friend for lunch at Zizzi (school holidays here) but have taken out red pepper and sweet potato soup from the freezer, and will pick up some nice bread to have with it for tea.

FlyingUnicornWings · 16/07/2024 11:20

Beans on toast and a cuppa.

DinnaeFashYersel · 16/07/2024 11:20

Diet soup

SocksAndTheCity · 16/07/2024 11:18

Smoked salmon & cream cheese on krisprolls with some pickles, carrot sticks and leftover tzatziki, a cup of tea and an apple. Probably an orange too.

That'll be around 3pm, since I haven't had breakfast yet Smile

olderbutwiser · 16/07/2024 11:17

Massive MUMSNET SALAD! Woo hoo, do I win?

Will contain no more than half a tin of tuna or one boiled egg, plus homegrown veggies.

By eating this for lunch I can allow myself a steak boiled in cheese with a double portion of chips for supper, obviously.

user1497787065 · 16/07/2024 11:16

Leftover lasagne from last night and three huge strawberries with yogurt

Catsmere · 16/07/2024 11:14

Lunch was eight hours ago (Australia) but I had a delicious and very filling bowl of granola with Greek yoghurt, strawberries, blueberries and honey and a hot chocolate at a cafe. Also very expensive, unfortunately, I won't be doing that often!

Marmite27 · 16/07/2024 11:13

Beef taco mince with courgette, red and yellow pepper and red onion. Plus a salad.

Then an apple.

pastabest · 16/07/2024 11:12

Quinoa with beetroot and feta salad, sliced cherry tomatoes with basil, mini cornichons and carrot batons on the side with some sweet chilli houmous and a few slices of cold sausages leftover from last night sprinkled over the top.

Durdledore · 16/07/2024 11:12

I didn’t have time to make mine this morning so I grabbed some things I could eat from Asda - all gluten free as have coeliac disease.

Came to just over £15 so that’s an hour and a bit of one of my hours on today’s shift gone on lunch 🙈

It’s stuff like mixed nuts, carrots and hummus pot, babybel, cheese and chorizo rollitos and some god awful cake bars that just need binning they’re that bad.

Cuppaand2biscuits · 16/07/2024 11:08

I've just had scrambled egg, mushrooms and tomatoes. Technically breakfast but I've got to go to work in half an hour so there won't be time for lunch.

Hemiola · 16/07/2024 11:07

Left over bulgar wheat salad from an ottolenghi recipe which is super tasty and some melon. My elevnsies is less healthy...a Belgian bun. Yum!
