Why does his Google history show he was at an industrial estate at night

Last night I was on Dh’s phone-not snooping…initially at least. I was turning lullaby music off that he and our dc had fallen asleep to.
It showed the travel history of where he’d been/been driving etc. I just thought it was quite interesting at first, don’t think I have it on my phone or if I do, no idea how to access it! I started looking and it was all pretty boring-travel to work, certain shops, cafes etc, a friends house. One entry from last Sunday shows him going out in the evening driving for 30 minutes, it says here no location/location not shown. Then from around 10.30-11.30 pm, it shows a location and when I looked at it, it’s an industrial estate. This is really strange isn’t it?! Making me so paranoid, what would you make of it?

I mean - is he a cheat? Bit bizarre to be automatically jumping to conclusions. Could he have stopped as he got a call. I don’t know. Lots of reasons - just ask him. YAB a bit ridiculous to be hypothetically guessing and sending yourself into a tizz for basically the unknown.

Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 06/07/2024 22:10

Sorry only read your posts OP, but is it Google timeline you're looking at? If so it's dreadful at accuracy, and chucks in missing journeys every so often too, just for fun.
I often look through mine, purely because it comes up on my phone, and couldn't for the life of me remember going to five guys at 1pm on Wednesday. I only go with the kids, and obviously they'd have been in school. Turns out I wasn't, I was in Sainsburys that was a good mile or two away. Please don't panic.

Ariela · 06/07/2024 22:09

Poor mobile signal round here means we can be on an industrial estate 5 miles away, or not, when in our living room. Is quite amusing.

Nachosanddips · 06/07/2024 22:08

@Whothefuckdoesthat Its the first time I looked at it, haven’t looked before as didn’t realise it came up or so detailed

Please don’t worry. It will be something totally mundane. Google travel history can be slightly inaccurate so it could easily be the case that there’s a petrol station (possibly new?) close by - perhaps situated behind one of the offices?

There is even a disclaimer on the Google Travel history site that says..

the location accuracy and reliability vary depending on various factors

Or it’s something totally innocent! If you looked at mine today it would show me parked up in a lay-by behind a shopping centre.
Drug deal? Dogging?
No, I just pulled in so could I eat a sneaky McDonalds.

HarryKanesDrool · 06/07/2024 22:06

Geocaching! (but more likely to be a hooker/drugs)

xylene · 06/07/2024 22:05

Have you asked him yet?

Bobbotgegrinch · 06/07/2024 22:05

My Google timeline for this week has me half a mile out at sea for a good hour in the middle of the night.

I don't own a boat.

Google maps history isn't perfect, sometimes it's triangulation goes awry and it shows you nowhere near where you really are.

As a one off @Nachosanddips , it's highly unlikely that he's doing anything wrong. However, by snooping on his phone, you very definitely are.

He doesn’t have Pokémon Go, he’s 45 😬
Realy don’t want to drive there at that time at night, but feel I need to, where would I say I was going though? Considering I rarely ever go out in the evenings, only occasional girls nights, I’d never venture out at 10.30 on my own, it will seem very strange

My husband will be 50 this year and is always on pokemon go

Is he in to cars? If it was my DH chances are he'd be doing something weird with the car like remapping the engine doing some bizarre combination of stuff while driving - so an industrial estate at night would fit. Or testing the brakes.

It's incredibly popular in our local area for friends to meet up in the late evening, once the normal daily working hours are over and do all things car related as their bosses let them use the garage equipment after hours.

zaffa · 06/07/2024 22:01

@Nachosanddips could he be buying something from Facebook market place? I asked DH what he would think if it was me that he had discovered going to this location and this is what he said first (I have form for buying stuff off Facebook and sending him on goose chases to pick it up, once it was after hours to get some crates from a unit on such an estate).

Gonetoofarthistime · 06/07/2024 21:57

@Nachosanddips If you have access to a spare mobile, buy a sim and install Life 360 on it and on your phone. Hide the spare mobile in the car (on silent, without vibratation) and wait and see. You can track his whereabouts discreetly. This saves you having to look at his phone, especially when google maps doesn't appear to be very accurate or states 'can't find location'.

Are you abroad in a country that any kind of anti social behaviour such as soliciting prostitutes, dogging or drug buying/ dealing could land your husband in very serious trouble?

Whothefuckdoesthat · 06/07/2024 21:49

Nachosanddips · 06/07/2024 21:32

@Crumpleton Yes, it had the whole history, so the time he leaves the house, journey to work, times of places stopped etc, quite interesting really

I think that, if it has even occurred to you to have a look through, and it’s not the first time, then your subconscious could well be picking up on something that you can’t quite put your finger on, but which you know isn’t quite right. And yes, it’s perfectly possible that he is the biggest shitbag going.

But it’s also equally as possible that there’s an innocent explanation for him being there, and for anything else your subconscious has noticed. Or even that he wasn’t there at all, and that if you looked again tonight, it would show him sitting on top of Mount Everest. Just start with all of the small, innocent explanations first and only start worrying about brothels and drug dens when you’ve ruled those out.

And then, if it does turn out to be something completely innocent, maybe have a think about whether you might have some trust issues that DH doesn’t deserve to be the target of, and that you could maybe work on.

Noodlehen · 06/07/2024 21:48

You said he smokes weed maybe he just went for a smoke and got engrossed into some reels or something like that. If he’s given no reason to not trust him I wouldn’t be immediately suspicious.

Pippetypoppity · 06/07/2024 20:07

Really upsetting for you if it is prostitute, dogging whatever but remember men can have sex with zero emotional involvement - just a biological urge. Maybe he’s frustrated with you being tired from baby or doesn’t want to pester or just doing it for selfish indulgence but - most importantly he’s not having an affair, he’s not hoping to replace or escape his current life and he probably loves you and your child as much as ever. Sorry Op. Stay strong and think of your life together and your darling child together.

🤢 … 🤮

Calliopespa · 06/07/2024 21:44

Drugs? A handover?

Crazycatlady79 · 06/07/2024 21:44

Nachosanddips · 06/07/2024 17:07

I don’t want to mention it yet as I want to try to keep checking it somehow to see if anything else comes up

So, you want to carry on snooping and driving yourself insane with wondering what he is up to?

MounjaroUser · 06/07/2024 21:43

Sunsetcocktail · 06/07/2024 17:02

I mean, we’re all thinking dogging right? But in fact it’s probably something really boring, like he was practicing hand brake turns. Men can be weird

Bless you, my sweet innocent child.

MounjaroUser · 06/07/2024 21:40

Have you tried entering the name of the location and "dogging" into Google?

Xmasbabyxmas · 06/07/2024 21:40

Imbusytodaysorry · 06/07/2024 21:39

Could he have been the on a call to someone for an hour. Did he stop off and collect someone and they sat for an hour together .
Did he park the car there and sit in one of the cafes with someone .

It does seem much to go out loads of nights a week , Just because your other half is putting child to bed. .
its not a hobby that’s understandable , but def not at 10.30 at night .

I think you have to prepare for the worst .
i think you are going to find out the worst. .
He has seen you as too trusting and taken advantage.

anxioussister · 06/07/2024 21:39

Type the location name in to Reddit and see if it brings up any chats about dogging etc

MounjaroUser · 06/07/2024 21:38

@notenoughteaintheworld But this guy gets plenty of time to himself - he goes out a couple of times a week without his family.
