I understand this isn't for everyone but I love a good woo story. Even if you've seen/experienced something but aren't 100% sure and are on the fence, I'd love to hear your stories.

I've had a few experiences myself, nothing majorly scary just in my old house I'd often hear loud clear footsteps when nobody could be there and often saw a shadow figure, sometimes right infront of me and other times in my peripheral so can understand why people think they've seen something but can't be sure. I also worked in a pub that had some poltergeist type activity and various figures had been seen by staff and customers. I'd love to hear yours!

My father died suddenly when we were on holiday in another county. When we returned home a few days later, the kitchen clock had stopped at the exact same time he died.

My grandmother heard someone come in the side door. She used to sit in a large recliner and you couldn't easily see the door without standing up. Nan heard someone behind her chair and they put a hand on her shoulder. Nan said she was calm, because she realised it was a great aunt that started speaking to her. The aunt said she was saying goodbye and was leaving now. My nan stood up to greet her- then realised there was no one there at all. A few minutes later she got a call to say that the great aunt had just died.

I’m still here for the grandfather clock missing chains mystery.

I went to see a psychic once. Bizarre experience, she literally kept looking over my shoulder, saying my spirit guides are trying to tell me blah blah blah. The whole thing was a jumbled, confusing, nonsensical hot mess.

Until it wasn't. Everything she said was true - even the proper, actual names of people. It played out about 2 weeks later, then it all made sense, every word. It was crystal clear.

I grew up in a haunted house, so many of the things I took for normal until we moved when I was a teenager and realised just how creepy it was.

examples: always seeing someone out of the corner of my eye when looking in mirrors, a man with black hair, my Mum always said I was imagining things but others saw him too and after we moved she admitted seeing him also.

Footsteps thumping up the stairs but stopping just before the top.

Putting something down, turning around and it being gone, moved somewhere else with no one around.

Taps coming on full blast then turning off just before you reached them and being turned so hard that it took my Dad to get them back on again.

Ornaments randomly jumping off shelves.

The feeling of someone sitting on my bed in the night but no one there.

Hearing light switches snapping on and off in the night.

The dog barking at nothing, loud bangs from rooms with no one in them, I could go on and on.

These things weren’t constant, it wasn’t like a horror film but they added up and when we moved I couldn’t believe how different and ‘lighter’ the new house felt, I’ve never felt anything like it since either in any house DH and I have owned.

I don't believe this for a moment, and have only the word of the (generally commonsensical) friend who told me it to go on, but it's a gently creepy story. (I've almost certainly told it on here before under another name.)

A foreign friend of a friend lives in a small Irish town, and was visited by another friend from her home country with a young daughter, neither of whom had ever been to Ireland before, and of course knew no one else locally.

They were all three sitting in the window of a coffee shop on the main street, when the little girl pointed out an elderly man passing and asked her mother 'Who is that man with all the funny people walking behind him?' The mother was puzzled because the man was clearly alone, but the little girl insisted she could see 'funny people' all walking behind him in single file.

The friend kept to herself the fact that this elderly man was the retired local undertaker, who had buried everyone for miles around for forty years.

I don't have any but I love these threads. I liked watching Uncanny at Halloween time last year and I love the Christmas ghost stories.

My old house had the presance of a former tenant who'd been murdered. When I first sensed something I didn't know about her. One day returning from work, as soon as I opened the door I had a feeing that someone was screaming for me to get out. The upstairs wardrobe door was banging. I shut the door and went to my mum's, who was my childcare. On the news was her case, the man accused had been acquitted. In the same house we'd all see spirit cats, including visitors.

I run a cleaning business and went with my team to clean a vacant house before new tenants went in. The house was eerie and had a really creepy vibe. I can't explain it, something just didn't feel right. It had 4 floors, 6 bedrooms, high ceilings with old features, creepy pictures on the walls and old fashioned decor. I felt like I was being watched the entire time and not long before we left I swear I saw someone stood at the top of the first flight of stairs. I glanced up and saw their legs and assumed it was another cleaner, but we were all downstairs.

Following, always enjoy these types of threads 😁

Not my actual story but several years ago my sister was working in a shop. She started serving a lady (she’d never seen this woman before). The lady said to my sister that she didn’t want to frighten her but she could sense the spirit of someone who had passed over standing next to my sister. She then described our Nan who had died a few years earlier, she described her to a T and even mentioned my sisters nickname that we as a family only ever use, no one ever calls her that name outside of the family (it’s an unusual name too).

Its something we often talk about because it was totally unexplainable.
