That you can have men that have long hair, high voices and non-muscular bodies, feminine eyes/face structures and like to wear pink t shirts,
and women that have short hair, deep voices and masculine face structures as well as loving to get muddy and weight lift, and they are still men and women and nothing else?
It seems to me that society puts such pressure on people to fit into a masculine/feminine "mould" that when someone does not do that, and they fit into the societal expectations of the opposite gender, that this messes with their mind and they believe that they should not really 'be' the gender that they truly are?
because they are not meeting expectations rather than biology somehow being 'wrong'?
Let's look at a hypothetical case study:
Sam, who is biologically male, has:
always loved pink/purple t shirts or hoodies despite teasing from peers that they are 'girl colours'
has a gentle, placid personality that other people may describe as 'wimpy' or 'effeminate'
prefers boy-band music to the rap/drill music often associated with boys
does not enjoy 'masculine' activities such as boxing, preferring more gentle actives such as swimming
has shoulder-length wavy hair because he both likes the look, and believes that most "male" hairstyles are very similar and aggressive looking with the shaved sideburns etc
When you consider all this, can you see how that could mess with his mind and make him feel that he is not truly 'masculine' simply because he is not behaving how society expects him to, ignoring the fact that none of this changes the fact that he has a penis and this simply makes him a male that has those perks, rather than needing to be "changed"?
This is how the non-binary phenomenon was invented, in my opinion. People being bullied out of being who they are and believing they should invent a make believe 'grey area' simply because their own personal interests don't fit the mould.
Change my mind?
