What have you got in your life worth more than £10 million?

On my way to the hospital this morning, if I had been given a choice between £10 million and a clear biopsy, I would have chosen the negative biopsy result, which I now have!

When I was in my 20s and told I was infertile, if I often thought if I was given the choice between £10 million and motherhood, I would chose motherhood, which I then got in my 30s, and still have (adult children now!)

So I have my family I thought I would never have, and i have decades left with them, rather than the few months I was warned might be all that was left.

I have a grand total of £20 million in my pocket this morning! (well, not in cash - but in value!)

What have you got worth more than gold? Lets have a happy thread xx

This thread is bringing a tear to my eye (in a good way). Daughters, husband, mother, brother, memories of my Dad. Everyone’s health.

Congratulations on your excellent news OP.

Gorgonemilezola · 28/06/2024 16:11

My DH and my health. And my very small but lovely extended family. All worth more than any sum of money.

Ratisshortforratthew · 28/06/2024 16:10

I’m childfree by choice and I just did a test with myself - if I was offered £10m to have children, what would I do? I’d have to turn down the £10m and keep my current lifestyle. So I guess the answer is that? And everything that comes along with it - autonomy, freedom, my career, dogs, partner, spontaneity

Dyrne · 28/06/2024 16:02

I have to confess I opened this thread very confused because adding up everything wouldn’t even get me close to £1M, let alone £10M; but what a lovely idea.

I’d give up the chance for any money as long as it meant I could be a mum.

Likewise, my friends and my brother, SIL, and niece/nephew; they’re worth the world to me and I wouldn’t give them up for anything.

PoppyCherryDog · 28/06/2024 15:57

My husband sometimes worries if we closed windows or remembered to lock doors whenever we are out. We’ve always remembered but I’ve never got worried about it if I’m out with my dogs and baby because anything else someone can steal from me and I won’t care. It’s my dogs and baby who are priceless to me. And my husband!!

Thedogscollar · 28/06/2024 15:50

My grandson I love him so much it's ridiculous💙

ForeverDelayedEpiphany · 28/06/2024 15:49

Great news on your result, OP too 👏 ❤️✨️

ForeverDelayedEpiphany · 28/06/2024 15:48

My DH, children and my parents.

Although I will also say that old adage that "health is wealth". I've been suffering from the aftermath of a head injury and post concussion syndrome then a medication induced neurological involuntary movement disorder for a decade, and I'd literally give someone £10m in exchange for good health. Essentially I think life is hard going without good health. Now I'm going through perimenopause, I'm realising this even more than ever.

I'd give anything to have rude health again 😔 (yes, even £10 million!)

junerella · 28/06/2024 15:34

Congratulations on your result. These things are life changing in terms of your mentality (for most of us!).

I was a bit of a moaner at times, then I gave birth to a very poorly baby with not much expected chance of survival past her first month. I promised to myself and whatever is out there that I would live every day in the now and enjoy everything if she could just survive. She did live and so do I.

My children are worth more than £10 million 100 times over.

LongLimbs · 28/06/2024 15:29

Lovely thread OP, I’m pleased you got the all clear.

We need perspective like this at times. I’m
the same as most, no amount of money could bring me more happiness than my children. DH second of course, though a billion and I might sell him… 😂

Compash · 28/06/2024 15:29

Well done, @RobertaFirmino ! That's impressive! 👏

For me, if it was £10 million or perfect eyesight', I'd go for the latter. Had crappy vision all my life, and as I approach 60, it's getting terrifyingly impossible to find glasses that work... Oh to be able to wake in the morning, to swim, knowing I could just... see!

Notmydaughteryoubitch · 28/06/2024 15:28

My DD, my DH, my DB, my close friends and my health.

TotalDramarama24 · 28/06/2024 15:23

Nothing. I would take the £10m. I'd say the same for £5m tbh.

HowIrresponsible · 28/06/2024 15:18

Nothing. I'd take the £10 million

God that's depressing

Maybethisyearornext · 28/06/2024 15:17

It is so nice to hear about so many lovely partners, MN sometimes is full of the opposite.

KreedKafer · 28/06/2024 15:01

I would rather have my partner in my life than any amount of money in the world. He's just the loveliest, loveliest man on earth and I'm incredibly lucky to have him.

RobertaFirmino · 28/06/2024 14:41

I have been clean for nearly 15 years. That's worth a billion to me!

TheFairyCaravan · 28/06/2024 14:39

My husband, my sons and my grandson. Not only that but my Daughters-in-law and my MIL. They are absolute diamonds and I’m so grateful to have them in my life. My MIL is ailing and it genuinely makes me upset when I think about her not being here anymore.

MissingMoominMamma · 28/06/2024 14:31

Obviously my family, but after that, my mobility (which I almost lost) and my dog.

ColinMyWifeBridgerton · 28/06/2024 14:29

my DC and my job.

YikesOhMy · 28/06/2024 14:26

Congratulations OP.

I love this thread - what a great way to think about life. For me, so much. My children (obviously), my family, my pets, my health (having been told at 13 i would be in a wheelchair at 21 I'm 35 and still relatively able bodied)

IamaRevenant · 28/06/2024 14:24

My doggy was worth 10 mil. Don't know if I could have survived some times without her, she always knew when I was sad or ill. I miss her 😢

I am however quite happy to sell my husband right now to any takers for a knockdown price of ten pounds. He'll be a massive drain on you, eat and drink all your food and alcohol and contribute nothing practically or financially (I don't think I'm a natural saleswoman!)

Congratulations OP on your results!

clarkkentsglasses · 28/06/2024 14:22

My son.

Lifeisamysterytome · 28/06/2024 14:15

What a lovely way to look at life OP.
So much today is about materialism but in reality the things that really matter are just priceless.
So glad you got your children and your health.

Furrydogmum · 28/06/2024 14:14

Congratulations on your negative result ❤️ this is a lovely idea for a thread!

My husband, sons, daughter in law, close relationship with parents, siblings and their families, and my dogs and cats are all worth the world to me!
