What have you got in your life worth more than £10 million?

On my way to the hospital this morning, if I had been given a choice between £10 million and a clear biopsy, I would have chosen the negative biopsy result, which I now have!

When I was in my 20s and told I was infertile, if I often thought if I was given the choice between £10 million and motherhood, I would chose motherhood, which I then got in my 30s, and still have (adult children now!)

So I have my family I thought I would never have, and i have decades left with them, rather than the few months I was warned might be all that was left.

I have a grand total of £20 million in my pocket this morning! (well, not in cash - but in value!)

What have you got worth more than gold? Lets have a happy thread xx

My children - obviously. I think (or would hope) that every parent would say that! (Sadly I reckon some would not!)

Also, congratulations on your clear biopsy results @Maybethisyearornext but taking the £10 million and having non-clear biopsy results would have been a bit pointless, as what use is £10 million if you have cancer and you die? Sad

My cat and my horse.

My DC and my mental health.

I’m childfree by choice and I just did a test with myself - if I was offered £10m to have children, what would I do? I’d have to turn down the £10m and keep my current lifestyle. So I guess the answer is that? And everything that comes along with it - autonomy, freedom, my career, dogs, partner, spontaneity

Those are precious and wonderful things to want to preserve.

The love I have for my kids, the visceral drive to protect them and the way I worry about their future have profoundly affected my autonomy and freedom!

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 06/10/2024 19:55

My daughter and my sobriety.

merryandbrightdelight · 06/10/2024 19:45

Congratulations on your good news op, that is priceless!

For me it's my family and friends, including our ddog. DD1 was an IVF baby as we were told we couldn't have kids as I had 'unexplained infertility' ... dd2 was a complete surprise and arrived during lockdown on my 30th birthday!

Last year we struggled financially but this year has been the opposite, and what I've found is that when you can afford most things you want, it actually devalues them and makes them much less special.

So I would say my husband and two teenagers, my extended family, my friends, my cats and our home are worth more than £10M to me!

CassandraWebb · 06/10/2024 19:30

My children. They are just the most amazing children and have been at every age. Being their mum has brought me such deep happiness.

If I had a spare £10m and was able to use it to cure their allergies and my rare neurological condition though I would do so in a heartbeat. Health is hugely valuable.

Maria1979 · 06/10/2024 19:25

My 2 sons most days. Other days I would happily pay for someone to take them:). DH is nice 10% of the time, does that make me 1000£ richer or 9000£ poorer?

Ramblomatic · 06/10/2024 19:20

The love of my life, and a £400 watch.

My children, my mum and some of my friends.

A close friend of mine has terminal cancer and she is reaching the end of the road. I would happily give up £10million to guarantee her a few more years with her family.

Sooty20235 · 28/06/2024 19:43

Beautiful idea for a thread ❤️ definitely dog and family!

Helptyhelp · 28/06/2024 19:21

My children and my health. I would have given the £10 million to save my partner but sadly that wasn’t to be.

Zanatdy · 28/06/2024 19:16

Excluding my children and my mum, immediate family it’s my beloved dog. I genuinely mean it when I say he’s not for sale for any amount of money, no way! And I’d happily give up that money if I could reverse his blindness (he’s only 7 and going blind via glaucoma). He’s just the best and my 16yr old DD anxious gets so much from owning a pet, nothing can match it

Swap dogs for cats and I have to agree with you.

But I can honour the people who want the exact opposite. @junerella , it sounds like your little one gave you two gifts!

Oh of course - it’s lovely that others here are getting that feeling from their families. I’m happy for them and OP!

Moveoverdarlin · 28/06/2024 18:32

Family. However I reckon I could be seriously tempted to flog my husband for 10 mil. 20 mil and I’d deffo put him on EBay.

Hatty65 · 28/06/2024 18:31

Congratulations! Some great news.

Ok, I've got DH - wouldn't swop him for £10m. Kids - wouldn't swap them.
My optimistic mindset - I don't want £10m if it comes with poor mental health. I'm worth £30million at a rough count.

I'd sell you the dog or the house for £10m. I'm fond of both, but they are replaceable. 😁

Circularbreathing6789 · 28/06/2024 13:28

May I ask please Allthislovelygreen , did it come back naturally or did you do anything to make it come back, or did you just start "doing"?

@Circularbreathing6789 it probably came back naturally when my depression lifted, but I did also buy loads of cheap ready made craft kits, Paint by Numbers, even kids colouring books where I didn't have to make any creative decisions actually really helped.

I remember I finished a paint by numbers and it looked just like a real painting, I felt the same satisfaction and pride as if I'd drawn it myself, so that sort of reminded me of that feeling.

Chickpea17 · 28/06/2024 18:25

Thank you for this.. I got a roof ove rmy head, my health, my children, and my piece of mind(abusive ex). It's been hard couple of years but I am grateful to God who has been helping each step of the day

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 28/06/2024 16:25

Dh and my dc, obviously.
But also, the extremely good fortune of having had a safe, comfortable, supportive upbringing in a happy family in a nice area of a relatively wealthy and secure country. Pretty much everything that's good in my life now is a result of that, in one way or another.

RampantIvy · 28/06/2024 16:22

Berga · 28/06/2024 13:17

Congratulations on your result!

My partner and my DC. Nothing could be worth as much to me as they are. Finding my partner was like winning the lottery.

Same. We are celebrating our 43rd wedding anniversary next month.

tuvamoodyson · 28/06/2024 16:22

My family.
