Nearly 14 year old and fake tan limits

So I was one of the wise, confident parents on someone else's thread about their 14 year old, thinking my little one was getting past the obsessed with her looks phase.
Silly me.
She's started wearing fake tan (bought herself with own money: she gets paid 20eur for reffing a match) and I feel a little concerned as I think she's planning on wearing it all the time.
I don't want her getting used to seeing it on herself to the point that she feels she looks bad/pale/sick without it.
I told her she's allowed wear it for special occasions and experiment a little bit beyond that, but no more than once every 2 weeks.
She's sad. Am I being unreasonable to limit fake tan application for a (nearly) 14 year old

it’s not necessarily about it being “only fake tan” but more encouraging her to feel comfortable in her own skin and natural looks.

Yeah because that’s the take she’ll take from this.

OP leave her to it, she’s finding out who she is and what she wants and she can only do that by experimenting.

I agree with you and I think it’s better to limit it, it’s not necessarily about it being “only fake tan” but more encouraging her to feel comfortable in her own skin and natural looks.

It’s just fake tan. This is not the hill to die on. If she wants to wear it all the time then so be it, plenty of girls (especially in here in Ireland) do. It’s not going to do her any harm. Her body, her choice

It's fake tan, what's the issue?

Also - you are describing a nearly 14 year old as a "little one"? Bit weird.

Fake tan wont hurt her

Leave her to it, she'll realise how daft she looks eventually. I did.

Save your battles for limiting things that actually harm her I.e real sunbeds, smoking, drinking
