@PoppingTomorrow Exactly. I'm so tired of women who exclusively care about gender issues claiming they do so because they care about women rights.

Absolute bullshit.

They care about gender. That's it.

If the gender issue wasn't there they'd vote Tory anyway even though the Tories have, just as one example, happily tolerated women being brutalised during childbirth.

*Sex.

I'm past caring about who the GC who are Tory voters anyway

How have you arrived at this gem? I'm GC and would never vote Tory. Like a lot of GC people I know.

I think people are delusional though if they think Labour are the saviour some posters are making them out to be (and will keep community centres open 🫤).

I said the GC who are Tory voters. I didn't say that all GC people vote Tory. However some have stated their intention of doing so (some of whom might well have voted Tory for other reasons anyway).

Which party do you think will address disability interests more effectively?

Sad to say, I don’t think any of them will. No one gives a sht about disabled people.

But the fact he’s dropped it quietly without any explanation. Doesn’t bode well at all. It makes me incredibly sad to see how disabled people are treated in society. Everyone talks about DEI, but really it’s always fck the disabled people.

Like with women’s rights - disability rights - are just swept under the carpet. As a person deeply invested in both of those things, I cannot and will not vote Labour.

*I’m not saying tories are better wrt disability. Don’t use that.

I'm much more bothered about the disability issue than either of the others and will wait to see what's in the manifesto and ultimately what is within the new government 's power when it's established what the state of the finances they're left with is. This government has however done nothing for disabled people and I doubt that the incoming Labour government will be anything like as bad.

I'm sure if you have any evidence that the police investigation was improperly conducted you'll be alerting the relevant authorities.

But you are fine with Corbyn and Starmer socialising?

Bearing in mind that Keir Starmer tried to cover up how many people he was with. Also, the evening before Durham, Starmer ate at an outside restaurant and then posed for socially distanced, performative photos, wearing a thick jacket in the cold. The following evening he was eating a cosy curry inside, when he thought the cameras were not there. All about the optics with Starmer.

Just because you don't vote labour doesn't automatically mean you vote Tory.

This.

I hate what the Conservatives have done to the country and I would cut my arm off before voting for them. That doesn’t mean that I’m rushing to vote Labour. There’s nothing wrong with questioning or even criticising the policies of Labour or any party for that matter. It certainly doesn’t make one a raging Tory as some on this thread seem to believe.

He's no longer in the Labour Party

Boris Johnson is no longer an MP.

He was Prime Minister though at the time of lockdown going on telly every night at 5pm to "stay at home, save lives!"
Then doing the exact opposite and partying, whilst others couldn't even visit dying relatives in care homes, or stuff others at home suffering mentally.
Disgustingly hypocritical.

😂🙈 frothing, bleating, what else? I can see why you don’t think valuing women’s sex-based rights is important.

Disability rights pledge abandonment ? This wasn’t mentioned in the incoherent responses here. Clearly not bothered about that either.

And yet Cass is welcomed and the political change 🤔 Too noisy but getting somewhere, and all these compulsory threads which must be read

Um really don’t think the labour party will give a shit about your vote as pretty much the entire country gives a shit about far more froth worthy issues than the two you’ve mentioned. Most can see the political football trans right have become and the vast majority aren’t privately educated. Many will welcome VAT on private fees.

You also clearly never in a million years would vote labour if this is all you deem as important come the next election. F*k the NHS, Brexit, dentistry, education, contracts for mates, arrogance, lockdown parties…… no what really matters is trans rights and private schooling VAT.😂😂😂😂🙄

I agree with this, there's just so many more important issues to me than private school fees and trans rights issues, the latter is just being weaponised to pit people against each other in my opinion as well.
Before anyone says "What's more important?"
At the risk of repeating myself, the state of the NHS, community services and help for new mums in the form of things like sure start centres, abortion rights (bodily autonomy) ......
Also whilst we're at it a shift in attitude to more like what it was like before Brexit, it just seems so much more intolerant and harsh since then, it seems to have emboldened hate.
Which we're just going to see more of imo if we get more of this shite in power who just stoke it.

I'm past caring about who the GC who are Tory voters anyway, and the small number of parents bleating about the proposals about VAT on school fees are going to vote for. They've made their choice as they have the right to do.

According to YouGov's latest poll a few days ago - 21% of female voters didn't know who to vote for (if there was a general election tomorrow) compared to 11% of male voters.

Other people have different priorities - I'm one of them - and will make different choices. I'm not going to be swayed by women trying to guilt trip me by frothing about some perceived betrayal.

I don’t care who you vote for nor do I think about your interpretation on anything when I post.

I have noticed a few who start out in these threads going on about not another one or whatever

They also often say Cass review is welcomed or good we’ve moved from Self ID.

The reason that has happened is due to women speaking up. All that ‘frothing’ you so deride.

Your derision is counter to the change already happening.

Romeiswheretheheartis · 18/05/2024 11:11

Even the Tories don't seem able to defend this government. I've just had someone canvassing at my door on behalf of the local Tory Councillor. When I said they'd absolutely not be getting my support, and what this govt has done to this country is a disgrace, he shrugged sheepishly and said he was just representing local people on local issues! I was like, yes, on behalf of the Tory party that you're a member of! He literally had no argument.

EasternStandard · 18/05/2024 11:08

With promises on public spending it comes down to funding. And not deferred funding repayment as for last time.
