We have got lots to look forward to if Labour win this election. Given Starmers lack of protection of women and children. Some examples from the not so distant past.. There are Many more.

It was Theresa May's intention and it was dumped.

Starmer chickened it when Isla Bryson got snapped. Stop trumpeting it anyway.

That was a few years after May

Lucky the photographer was there

BIossomtoes · 18/05/2024 19:02

It doesn’t matter how many times you say that it still happened.

It was still the Tories’ intention so they’re hardly the “voice of reason”. They might be the voice of electoral opportunism.

Self id was not voted in though.

Nothing to do with the tories

If anything they’ve been a voice of reason

Lol as if 😁

They wanted self id in 2017

Exactly, they want whatever they think everyone else wants and what gets them votes.
Whether that be Rwanda or this issue.

Self id was not voted in though.

@Greengablesfables you got me wondering when you said, "Look at other countries they are a mess."

Only my initial findings, but this is interesting. Measured across a range of of indicators from education and employment laws to perceptions of safety and violence, how does the UK do? We came 20th.

Where in Europe is it best to be a woman?

New research has ranked countries around the world according to the status of women. Here's how Europe compares.

They can always change it back again.

Some really interesting information here about women's voting patterns and priorities. Thank you for sending me down this lane @Clavinova , it's fascinating.

Given how demographics are tipping against them you can see why muddying the waters regarding the female vote would be so high on the agenda of some Conservatives.

With 25% of women currently undecided, women’s votes will swing the next general election - Womens Budget Group

"The average voter behaves differently from male voters in some ways. Women are disproportionately represented among undecided voters, and they tend to make up their minds who to vote for closer to election day. In 2017, for example, data collected in April and May in the run-up to the British general election showed that 18 per cent of women compared with 10 per cent of men said they did not know who to vote for." Article dated 2019. This is usual.

Westminster

The "women's vote" is a myth: the average voter is a female voter

ROSIE CAMPBELL: With women making up over half of the electorate, election strategists would be best advised not to ignore their potential for driving election results.

Oh dear, the Conservative party really is starting to show its desperation now.

Remind me again about the rape clause in the 2 child benefit cap?? How women have to prove their 3rd child is the product if rape.

Or maybe remind me who has defunded women's refuges?

Who defunded sure start?

Who started the whole housing crisis back in the 80s with right to buy??

Who has been in charge of the country while millions more have had to resort to food banks?

Want me to go on?? In case you hadn't realised Conservatives have been in power for over a decade, and all the gender ideology stuff has been under their watch

‘In case you hadn't realised Conservatives have been in power for over a decade, and all the gender ideology stuff has been under their watch’

Surely you must understand that the extreme trans ideology movement has been all over the western world for over 20yrs. Grown exponentially in recent years. Nothing to do with the tories.

If anything they’ve been a voice of reason - Cass, puberty blockers stop, closing the corrupt / unregulated GIDS clinic. Look at other countries they are a mess. Sadly that’s what will happen here with some women have penises Keir.

I'm past caring about who the GC who are Tory voters anyway, and the small number of parents bleating about the proposals about VAT on school fees are going to vote for. They've made their choice as they have the right to do.

According to YouGov's latest poll a few days ago - 21% of female voters didn't know who to vote for (if there was a general election tomorrow) compared to 11% of male voters.

Did it drill down into the reasons?

CrappySack · 18/05/2024 14:00

Greengablesfables · 18/05/2024 12:10

But the fact he’s dropped it quietly without any explanation. Doesn’t bode well at all. It makes me incredibly sad to see how disabled people are treated in society. Everyone talks about DEI, but really it’s always fck the disabled people.

Like with women’s rights - disability rights - are just swept under the carpet. As a person deeply invested in both of those things, I cannot and will not vote Labour.

*I’m not saying tories are better wrt disability. Don’t use that.

Edited

A lot of people only have the choice of Tories or Labour which is why when someone says Labour will be crap at X issue so I won't vote for them, they point out where he Tories have repeatedly failed in that area.

A lot of people will be voting to get the Tories out. Better to have someone who might better than someone who definitely won't be.
