There's a CF parked in my drive

Village fete day. Parking's a nightmare. Come back from my food shop to find some CF has parked on my drive. So I parked across my drive (dropped kerb but no double yellows or white driveway signs) to put my shopping away. Nearest proper parking is going to be a 5-10 min walk away I reckon - it's heaving! No specific AIBU but I know you lot love a parking drama.
Can I leave my car infront of the driveway and head out to the fete? It would block the car in ... but there's no note, no blue badge etc ... can I get a parking fine?
My DH thinks we should park properly and walk back in but tbh im enraged someone parked on my drive!!!

This is never truly a parking thread without uploading the photograph to the local residents Facebook group and demanding to know who owns the car. Oh the drama I’ve seen play out on there 😀

Would have been so much fun to leave a note saying
Hi Janet, love the new car!! Didn't realise you were swapping your old one but it looks lovely. Had to park behind you as we were in a rush to get to the airport. Spare car keys are in the usual place so you can swap the cars round. Thanks so much for house sitting. See you in a fortnight. Love x

Same. OH and I share the crazy gene. He would be parking as close to the door as he could while my car was an inch from the boot.

I wonder if the OP has got embroiled in Guess The Weight Of The Sheep or some other country fete activity and has lost track of time. Either that or she’s got off her tits on cider and has crushed the CF’s car with a handy combine harvester whilst singing The Wurzels.

I live near to a school and our neighbour across the road has a massive drive that he pretty much lives in to make sure nobody can turn around on it 😂

Are you sure that you don’t know the person who has parked there? Many moons ago a regular on MN had the exact same thing- turns out her teen son had told a friend that it was no worries to park on the drive but had failed to inform his parents!

That has inspired me: If/when the CF knocks on your door asking you to let them out, you could greet them with "Oh hello Jason! ...What do you mean, you aren't Jason?? I told my neighbour her brother Jason could park on my drive for the weekend while he's visiting her." (baffled look) "YOU AREN'T JASON?? But your car is on my drive?! Why is your car on my drive?!"
