Inspired by something said on another thread, really Aibu to think video chatting from bed to someone who isn't your dp or husband/wife, is inappropriate? Or am I just out of touch?

I used to be surprised when younger colleagues sent me photos and videos they'd done whilst in bed but now it barely registers. I think for lots of people the bedroom has become less private - especially since Covid when bedrooms became offices for so many of us. As people also often live with parents or in HMOs, the bedroom may be the only room they can be alone to chat to a friend.

I've video chatted a Board meeting from bed before now. Very informal Board TBF.

Was everyone fully dressed? That's more of an issue.

@Mattime Both. I've been in bed with a jumper over my pyjamas before and spoken to my team. I'm not saying it's the same situation to yours but in answer to your question, yes I have had video chats with people from my bed.

I meant not in PJs. I sort of assumed that nobody would be in bed fully clothed.

Are they long standing old friends?
Was a video call strictly necessary or would an old fashioned phone call have sufficed if she was still in bed?

Unless of course she was so ill that being in bed at the time was her only option.

No, she's not ill. She was just in bed from sleeping and I could only see her shoulders with the duvet pulled up. I don't know if that was better or worse

My dp did that with a female friend this morning (her from bed), is what inspired it. But I'm interested to know if that's something other people would be comfortable doing either as the from bed person or the other party
