Things you used to like despite DP mocking them, but which they have now commandeered and got waaaaay too into. Mine:

Trademe (NZ ebay) - Place is starting to look like a used car yard.
Shakti mat - Now thinks he's some sort of bloody yogi and it's the cure for anything that ails him.
St John's Wort - ditto, cure for everything.
Nutrient Rescue Shots (powdered greens) - has declared he doesn't need to eat veg anymore as he has these (mine) instead. 🙄

Surely it's not just me ladies? 😅

A skinflint. When we met I was the one who was more cautious about money - DP was not very careful at all. He absorbed my caution and has taken it to a new level.

I came onto the thread to say "gentle parenting"....

Gentle parenting doesn't produce monsters in children. Permissive and lazy parenting produces monsters.

Wine - when I met my husband 20 years ago he only drank bitter or lager, we joked that he was a 'cheap date!'.
I used to buy a bottle of wine for myself on a Friday night and a few cans for him, probably cost about a tenner at the time.
For some bizarre reason known only to stupid younger me I was determined to get him to like wine (probably thought he would look more sophisticated with a glass!) and started him gently on the cheap low percentage rose.
He is now a complete wine fiend and loves expensive (for us) red wine.

I should have left him to his lager.

Cycling...

I cycled to work and back, started cycling a bit further, started a little cycling group though a.SW group I was kart if, used to go for weekly rides 7-10 miles etc. DH came along one time in his old mountain bike.

Next week he had a road bikes lycra,.new helmet.... Month later ride London to Brighton... Year later ride Lands End to John O'groats in 9 days.

Spear bedroom has a carbon bike and a trainer in it, I am subjected to Strava timings, should I do this race? Shall I do that? PBs etc.

I don't even have a bike anymore!!

I encouraged my dh to start running in lockdown and now he’s a total running wanker 🤦‍♀️ complete with “recovery run” strava status, energy gels, and discussing his split times (which he likes to do last thing at night when he looks at his phone and likes to talk me through it….). He’s done one race, 18 months ago, and he talks about it like he’s Mo Farrah-

I’m actually a runner myself, and I’m quite fast, and I’m not an #RW

In our house the best example is probably coffee. He didn't touch it before we met unless he required it to stay awake. He now grinds his own beans from local roasteries and has a fancy coffee maker. I am however perfectly in support of his coffee conversion process, especially when me makes it for me!

Good whisky….

When I met mine he was drinking cheap stuff now he’s a snob and only likes the good (expensive stuff)

When we met, I had a PlayStation… he had never gamed… now he’s the only one that does. (Although I wouldn’t call him a gamer).

Airfare … not sure when it happened, but I’m the only one that buys air tickets… he was uncomfortable yet content in coach…now it’s business class (although that could be my monster)
