To love Bing?

The CBeebies programme?

Everyone seems to hate Bing and his ‘whiny’ behaviour but I think it’s a great programme which teaches toddlers about empathy and making the right decisions.

Granted Bing often makes the wrong decision but he always learns a lesson from it and so does my toddler when watching it. I’ve found it useful when explaining concepts in a simple way e.g sharing.

I don’t get all the Bing hate! Give me Bing over crappy Cocomelon or any other equally shit overstimulating programme any day. I also think the Bing world looks lovely and I’d quite like to live there🤣

Bing is evil and Flop is a peanut that's smoked too much weed. No one could naturally be that calm around such a terror.

Bdaybdilemma · 31/03/2024 19:38

YANBU! He's a realistic toddler and Flop models good parenting!
But they have to stop claiming universal things as "a Bing thing". The swings are not "a Bing thing".

Have you seen sleepy time?

Nope

BrutusMcDogface · 31/03/2024 19:37

I really can’t bear Bing. Bluey all the way.

while I’m admitting crimes - I don’t get the Bluey hype. I watched about four episodes and found the dad waaaay to energetic for my liking. If my kids think I’m gonna be a robot or freeze with a magic xylophone so they can draw on my face and spray me with a hose because I’m just THAT much fun they’re gonna learn a life lesson lol

(I will probably watch more episodes and get on the Bluey train eventually)

YouAreShoutingAtTea · 31/03/2024 19:35

Bing is an asshole! He stoke, killed a butterfly, broke Flop's phone and put it in the bin, amongst other things! My now 8yo agrees with me

YABU.

Bing is awful. Banned in my home (along with Cocomelon and the dreaded 🐷).

I loved Bing! I loved Fopp even more. It was light relief from Thomas the Tank engine who was the most annoying form of transport ever. Not a cheeky engine, just an idiot that never listened to advice until it was too late.

Fopp!! 🤣🤣🤣 love this because my dad and I used to call each this!!
And agree about Thomas, if only he'd listen, most the trouble wouldn't have happened, the little twat!

I much prefer Bing to Peppa and cocomelon!

But if anyone slags off Duggee, I will ride at dawn to fight you! 🤣

WindowBlindsUp · 31/03/2024 19:26

Anybody sense a lot of unresolved romantic tension between Flop and Amma? They’ve got history. It’d be good if they made a prequel series.

PensionPuzzle · 31/03/2024 19:25

It's the mis-speaking that gets me reaching for the remote control tbh. Probably the same reason I can't be doing with Waffle 😂

Hey Duggee is the perennial favourite here. We do like Bluey but like with Bing I think there are times when the 'lesson' isn't explicitly made clear to the children watching and therefore it can make it look like whatever behaviour they are trying to highlight is ok.

We as adults get it, but to a toddler I think Bing in particular sometimes just looks like a brat doing horrible things, if you don't manage to pick out the underlying point.

Cuwins · 31/03/2024 19:25

I don't mind it but I do wish they had more episodes on iplayer. There are only 2 seasons- we must be working our way through for the 100th time I think!
Its much better than waffle which dd also loves.
I quite like bluey- she doesn't mind that when it's on cbebbies but not to the point she will watch it on iplayer.
I refuse to let her watch peppa pig- partly the program itself and partly work related trauma!
Can't bare cocomelon.

NiceUnusualDifferent · 31/03/2024 19:24

I kept waiting for flopp to lose his shit, would be been much more entertaining!

haveyoutriedturningitoffandonagain · 31/03/2024 19:24

The only thing on cbeebies worse than bing is topsy & tim

Vacantstare · 31/03/2024 19:23

@thistimelastweek but that's kind of the point of lots of programmes aimed at little ones? To teach them about the world and what's appropriate and not...

Bing is fine but it's cool to hate him on MN. He's not even that whiney he's just a toddler, and people call flop sanctimonious but all he ever is is patient and understanding while teaching bing a lesson, which is exactly what parents and caregivers should do. It's a sign of their own guilt and bad parenting.

Peppa is a cunt though.

And that waffle the wonder dog needs putting down or ran over.

Agree 100%!

WindowBlindsUp · 31/03/2024 19:22

I don’t mind Bing, but I’ve watched the whole series and they’re a lot of unanswered questions. What is Flop? Where are the adults? Is Padget a sociopath (note her reaction when Pando boots Bing in the face on the swing)?

Its also only fair to big up Amma, the absolute legend.

haveyoutriedturningitoffandonagain · 31/03/2024 19:22

I CAN'T STAND IT

Nope. It's really not.

It's a sign of being really bored with being hit over the head with constant moralising messages.

YouveGotAFastCar · 31/03/2024 19:21

And that waffle the wonder dog needs putting down or ran over.

Almost woke the toddler up stifling a laugh at that. He hates waffle.

He likes Bing but he’s much keener on Go Jetters and Octonauts. He loved Bluey for ages but his Dad has overplayed it. Jojo and Gran Gran is great; Sarah and Duck, Clangers is an absolute hit, he likes to say the name of the characters in Night Garden.

507am · 31/03/2024 19:18

I agree! The amount of times I've said 'remember that Bing episode...' when we're talking about something 😬

Rainrainrainrainrainrainrain · 31/03/2024 19:16

I don’t get all the Bing hate!

I don't think many people hate Bing. They dislike the programme. Hate is something different .

oldestboy · 31/03/2024 19:14

YABU

Bing could stab one of his little friends and Flop would just say ‘it’s no big deal Bing, you were just feeling a little angry, let’s make a smoothie’.

peachgreen · 31/03/2024 19:13

Bluey is the only actually good kids TV show. Hey Duggee next best. The tier destined for hell includes Ben and Holly, Peppa Pig and fucking WAFFLE.
