Does it bother you? I have a semi famous DH, he gets paid to gig and go on podcasts etc if we go out locally he does get asked for selfies so we tend to go away for weekends as a family.

I do find it slightly annoying but I guess it pays the bills 💃

My friend is married to an internationally famous man. He was famous when he chose to marry her.

Despite this, she lives on her nerves, even though she's beautiful and a wonderful person. She is perpetually waiting for the 'right' much younger woman to turn his head.

It's no way to live and, as I say, she is both beautiful and a wonderful person.

It must be even worse if you're neither of these things to suddenly find yourself with a 'semi famous' husband, particularly one who has found semi-fame (whatever that is, really) after choosing to marry you i.e. before the offers were flooding in.

Toottooot · 29/03/2024 21:21

Does he have a blue tick - that wasn’t paid for?

What's your experience with super fans Meadow? I'd imagine it could be quite intrusive.

My DH also gets sponsored

My DH once got sponsored for a sponsored swim when he was about 8- is that the sort of thing you mean?

I don’t really understand this thread. Surely you’re aware that most posters won’t have a famous or semi-famous or sponsored DH so I don’t know that you’ll find many posters able to share similar stories. Seems like maybe just an attempt to show-off?

ToxicChristmas · 29/03/2024 21:19

I don't personally.
I have one friend who was married to a very famous 80s pop star. Drove her mad going anywhere as he had a following of devoted women who went to every gig, watched the house, followed them shopping and on days out. It was relentless.

Stichintime · 29/03/2024 21:19

Is he the guy who ran the Christmas disco at local care home? Didn't get a lot of thanks, but in fairness they are a tough crowd. Great pic in the local paper though.

AhBiscuits · 29/03/2024 21:19

I was seeing a professional athlete for a while. It was fine 💁

Sidebeforeself · 29/03/2024 21:18

anybody can claim anything on here and who is to know any different?

Yours, Camilla

PitterPatter3 · 29/03/2024 21:18

Enjoy it while it lasts. I have a friend who is married to a bloke who was a regular in a show which was on telly through the 90s and early 00s. He’s a total has-been now, hasn’t worked in over 10 years other than a couple of episodes of Casualty, barely anyone recognizes him anymore and she’s been having to support him ever since.

My DH also gets sponsored

Omg really?! Omg that's unreal!! Sponsored? By whom? For what?!??! I need to know more!

Is that the reaction you were looking for...?

Devilsmommy · 29/03/2024 21:16

Sapphire387 · 29/03/2024 21:14

Ah, yes. Your DH who is famous in the school WhatsApp group.

🤣😆🤣😆

Sidebeforeself · 29/03/2024 21:16

You seem to be very keen that your DH is famous. But since we don’t know who he is, it’s rather pointless?

Toottooot · 29/03/2024 21:16

Do you funcy yersel as famous by proxy?

Stichintime · 29/03/2024 21:15

I just double checked, it's the guy from the school disco! Thanks for pointing that out GwinGwyn. Please stop Meadow, cos the truth is those that have or know ' famous' people don't really talk about it. Or did you mean ' well known' ?

Sapphire387 · 29/03/2024 21:14

Ah, yes. Your DH who is famous in the school WhatsApp group.

SabreIsMyFave · 29/03/2024 21:14

Yes my DH is a movie star. It's quite the life. SO busy and hectic for months at a time, but his money gives us a wonderful life.

Simonjt · 29/03/2024 21:12

I almost did, my ex is world famous, it was fine, people rarely bothered him, and if they did most were nice. Odd ‘fans’ tend to be online, so unless you read their barmy comments you wouldn’t know they’re jealous etc. He is also a bit of a hermit as well, which reduced people approaching us out and about. We’re still very good friends, he stayed with us recently and wasn’t approached by anyone when out and about which was nice.

FieldInWhichFucksAreGrownIsBarren · 29/03/2024 21:12

Sorry but wtf is 'semi famous '? 🤣
No I do not, thankfully. Don't really understand the fawning over famous people, they are just a person -same as me 🤷🏼 I'd likely find the attention extremely boring, annoying if I was the famous one. I think I'd deny it and say 'nooooo, this happens all the time, I just look like them'

MeadowL · 29/03/2024 21:11

My DH also gets sponsored

Famous friends and it really pisses me off. I normally jump in with the offer to take a photo really quickly so FF can do the lovely to meet you hug hug goodbye dance and we can back to dinner/drinking/chatting. Couldn’t handle it with a famous hubby.

InNeedOfAWin · 29/03/2024 21:10

Yes, but I am more famous - so it doesn’t bother me.

Sybila · 29/03/2024 21:09

My dh has a very famous cousin and they look alike. When we were younger, he used to get asked for photos and autographs all the time cos people thought he was his cousin. So no, but we got a taste for the high life ha ha

MeadowL · 29/03/2024 21:09

Brandnewskytohangyourstarsupon · 29/03/2024 21:08

I’ve got a really fucking annoying husband.
So annoying he could be famous for it.
