Interesting that they said it was a benign issue when they announced his planned surgery.

I think this hints at a very early diagnosis, hopefully.

I read an article actually that said some prostate cancer is caught so early it’s almost too early to treat, so you stay in a wait and watch pattern. Though obviously I don’t suppose that would be the case for the King.

I don't suppose the royal prostate is any different to anyone else's in that regard.

I don’t understand why people are so shocked. What’s so shocking? Genuine question…

It was unexpected??? He's been on the throne for such a short time? His parents seemed to live forever?

My mum was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer I September. She has her first appointment with her oncologist at the end of this months-a 6 month wait to see someone, not even to start treatment!!

You need to fight fight fight and push to get treatment. I wish I had known how much when my mum was diagnosed upwards of 20 years ago now. Just don't take no for an answer x

I was shocked. I was on the phone to my sister at the time, and she was also shocked. My 20 something daughters who aren't particularly fans of the RF were also shocked!!

Why wouldn't you be?!

Thank you @MrsPatrickDempsey I had to stop myself saying that on the numerous threads about the "prostrate"!

mayorofcasterbridge · 06/02/2024 22:48

SendOver · 05/02/2024 23:48

Laughing at the thought of him sitting up in a NHS bed with his crown at a jaunty angle on his head.

"Laughing..." - what a horrible thing to say.

No but people put the royal family on a pedestal as it they are

I think most normal people in possession of half a brain realise that they are just human beings too, when all is said and done.

T1Dmama · 06/02/2024 22:40

Very sad.
Thank goodness his postrate was looked into and they found this other issue … just hope it’s been caught early enough and is removable without any lasting issues.

It's a prostate.

LoveLifeBeHappy · 06/02/2024 22:44

Poor guy, he didn’t really get much of a go.

mayorofcasterbridge · 06/02/2024 22:43

IDontHateRainbows · 05/02/2024 22:23

I'm sure KC won't be on any sort of waiting list

And do you know, why should he be on a waiting list? He's the Head of State. Plus he's not exactly going to be using the NHS.

Which is a whole other issue, speaking as someone who has been waiting for neurological tests for nearly two years, and still has months to wait!

I don’t think anyone is ‘shocked’?

Has anyone come on and said ‘the King has cancer - I’m shocked!’

It’s just big news, what with him being head of state of many countries. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The king has cancer
Headstarttohappiness · 06/02/2024 20:44

Thank you silversideup and payens and
I hope you get some effective treatment soon.

payens · 06/02/2024 20:18

Thousands of people have cancer. One man is ill, has the best possible care and it's wall to wall news. The rest of us wait months for treatment .

SilverSideUp · 06/02/2024 20:11

I really can't get worked up about it. I feel sorry for him and wish him best but as I sit here again in agony and waiting another 15 months for an operation which if a member if the RF had they would get done quickly

It's extraordinary how much thought people put into the workings of this family like who hasn't made a public statement , why haven't they . Who has been speaking to who , how often . Like in their mind it's a game .

TheAverageJoanne · 06/02/2024 19:55

ILoveMyCatButHesAPervert · 06/02/2024 11:34

Yes. Why not?

Then people would grumble that he's taking their space for treatment.

Feel sorry for William - not just or his dad's cancer, but Kate seriously ill too. This can happen to any family - nobody immune from illness.

Since when was Kate ‘seriously ill’? 🤨
