To never ever buy from Snag again?

I'm just beyond disgusted and feel I need to vent.

I've always liked snag tights. I bought vouchers to save them in Lockdown, have spent hundreds with them. Liked their products and ethos- inclusive and female led.

Yesterday I went on their website, can definitely say it's my fault that I clicked on their NSFW collection, but I didn't expect what I found. Patches saying ' chke me' and 'cMSL*t'. Maybe I'm just a pearl clutching prude but I found these really offensive and not what I expect from a company with their ethos. I've put a pic below.

I posted in their Facebook group which I'm on highlighting that I thought this was a misjudgement on their part, that these were very misogynistic, and fed into a culture of violence against women which claims the life of a woman or girl every 11 minutes.

They declined my post and sent me a reply which I'll attach- I'm kink shaming apparently.

I find this really reprehensible and never want to spend a penny with them again!

I never thought I was prudish, whatever adults do between themselves is up to them, but I don't really want to buy from a clothing provider who is promoting this- aibu!?

We supposed to be ‘cool’ with this kind of bullshit misogyny? Like, oooh rhe cool, edgy girls get it…
Fuck off Snag. Fuck. OFF.
we have enough problems without this nonsense, it’s not edgy, it’s not empowering- it’s the same old self hating crap.

Tbh probably not? I’m guessing mumsnet reading, majority middle aged women are not their target audience.

I wanted to buy them but this has been going on awhile. I refuse to. They've finally fucked off my TikTok and insta advertising.

AngharadM · 17/01/2024 18:31

Have been feeling uncomfortable about their ads for a while and this is the final nudge to try the Better/Big Bloomer alternatives suggested in the thread😕

My friend is still in therapy (physical and psychological) after her ex attempted to strangle her. The police barely took it seriously and she has nightmares about it.

Any company promoting the nightmares from the powerlessness her imminent death has left her with are a disgrace.

Any woman who thinks it's old past it crones making all the fuss needs to take a good long look at the stupidity informing her life choices and sit down.

nimski · 17/01/2024 18:31

Oh no! I love my snags but didn't realise this although their Facebook posts are getting more odd. I'm nearly 6ft and snags are the only tights that fit properly 😭 Do better tights have a tall range?

SquirrelSoShiny · 17/01/2024 18:30

Creepy incel apologists are Creepy incel apologists, regardless of how they identify.

FakeHoisinDuck · 17/01/2024 18:28

Ah thanks for that. I'm too big for bravissimo 😳.

And yes reading the tattle thread on the NSFW cult it's clear drawing their attention to this thread will make no difference. They fully know what they're doing 😔.

Nothing remotely "transphobic" about JK, who is a heroic defender of women's rights (which is why she's hated by the TRAs).

Continue "quietly gathering" for your misogynist friends, but their power is waning as people wake up to what's going on.

InSpainTheRain · 17/01/2024 18:27

I love snag! I don't have a problem with their new range... but did you expect if you clicked on NSFW and that pic? Some people like that stuff, personally I don't but I'm not shocked or offended by it.

dressedforcomfort · 17/01/2024 18:27

God that's really upsetting and annoying - I loved Snag tights. Definitely not on board with all that shite.

I was going to try their bras as I'm larger and they look great.

But not now. I donr know how they can defend that (teenager on sm account!?)

Please can someone tag them in this on social media? I'm old and it's beyond me!

Their bra fitting advice/guide is atrocious.

Even worse than M&S’s measure and add numbers on.

Sususudio · 17/01/2024 18:24

Even without the NSFW stuff and the men with bulges, their advertising campagins are very unappealing. To me , at least.

All2Well · 17/01/2024 18:22

Thanks for drawing my attention to this OP.

They can kiss my business goodbye.

BotterMon · 17/01/2024 18:21

Had to Google NSFW! Never bought Snag and now never will. Gross.

sockmuncher · 17/01/2024 18:21

The 'Jesus Loves Sluts' patch has made me laugh.

The other items don't alarm me but the choking badge is a little too far.

Wednesdaysotherchild · 17/01/2024 18:20

I was already suspicious of them due to their marketing behaviours but thanks for the heads up, that is revolting.

I have already found that the Big Bloomers Company stuff is better than Snag ime - recommendation there - but will also check out Better Tights - I am currently in line for a repurchasing a bundle of tights due to holes and a bit of weight gain…so a few test purchases might be needed before investing.

Who are you planning to take it further with out of interest?

GeneCity · 17/01/2024 18:19

^biddy 😄

Anyway, issues can be nuanced you know. It's not pearl clutching buddy stereotypes at one end of the spectrum, and boundary-pushing cool kids at the other.

Did you mean to be misogynist and ageist?

Describing objecting to a sexual practice that is dangerous for women and used as an attempted defence for men who have killed their sexual partners as "pearl clutching" is just, wow.

RokaandRoll · 17/01/2024 18:18

I've bought from them in the past but will never do so again. Thanks for highlighting this, OP.

I'd rather be a pearl clutching buddy than normalise violence against women.

Grow up.

Tights for Blokes really should be their strap line.
It's a shame. They have moved from body positive and a decent product (adult dd like you was an enthusiastic customer?) To just courting more and more obscure niche audience.
