I was more upset by the countless videos of people being mauled by these things tbh.

I agree with this comment.

It's a dangerous breed not helped by the fact that most people who want to own one are as thick as pig-shit.

No animal should be tortured or killed in a cruel manner, but I will not be spending too much time hand-wringing over there being one less if them in the world.

However, I think they should be humanely destroyed. There is no justification for cruelty.

OneTuTuThree · 08/01/2024 16:46

If it's the one I'm thinking of, the poor dog was first sedated and then beaten to death by it's owner, Logan Smith.
The utterly despicable coward had to sedate it first so it couldn't defend itself against the horrendous, agonising attack!!
He was put in hospital by vigilantes, where he was subsequently arrested.

TheProblemBlob · 08/01/2024 16:36

Thanks. I also wasn’t sure whether the vigilantes had attacked him because he’d harmed the dog, or because they didn’t want an XL bully in their building. I could see it being either, to be honest, wonder if there are communities where people will put pressure on others to get rid of their new dogs.
It’s a mess all round.

The vigilantes attacked the person who killed the dog, as retribution for killing an innocent animal. He was beaten, slashed and stabbed for what he did to the dog.

Valeriemoor · 08/01/2024 16:45

He might have saved someone’s life.

dottiedodah · 08/01/2024 16:45

Very cruel ,dogs are so much a kind of tool to be used/abused by the owners.Pot luck really as to what owners they get isnt it.Poor things

LessonsLearnedInLife · 08/01/2024 16:35

Exactly. A lot of the so called rescues that were bringing these dogs up to Scotland for rehoming had no idea who they were going to. No home checks or anything were done.

His name is all over social media, he’s already been in jail because of animal abuse before as well.

This type of dog is like a magnet to utter arseholes.

There was a Pit Bull called Ollie who was tortured with knives in USA.

I'm not a fan of fighting breeds, but this is despicable.

Owner had also had previous for animal cruelty.

Ollie The Pit Bull Dies Days After He Was Stabbed 50 Times

"I'm like a sick animal lover," said Kristen Bagarozza. "I just can't, I can't fathom how anyone could do that."

You can dislike those dogs (who were created by and let down by humans) as much as you like but if you’re seriously celebrating an animal being tortured to death you need help.

Poor animal regardless of which side of the border it was on. These dogs don't deserve what some shitty humans foist on them right from the beginning of their lives.

Sorry I don't live these dogs either but I'm not someone who's celebrating an animal being butchered Confused

I can’t work out from that article what’s supposed to have happened. Did the vigilantes kill the dog? Or the edibles?

Someone said on another thread it was the new "owner". He claimed it died from edibles but it had stab wounds.

There is no ban. Owners of this breed have to follow the few simple steps that have been put in place.

Sending an XL bully to live in a flat in Springburn wasn't really a bright idea

Sounds like gang violence. He won't be safe anywhere, even in prison.

Definitely I hope the little cnut suffers like the dog he killed! Also some people on here have obviously escaped the cnut farm today.

Scottishdreams1991 · 08/01/2024 16:30

I hate dogs every type BUT i couldn't imagine ever doing something like that or any of the abuse dogs get. The government has essentially offered to pay to pts for xl bully dogs

Ap24 · 08/01/2024 16:26

Knowivedonewrong · 08/01/2024 16:24

There's been plenty of rumours that the little shit that did this to the dog was stabbed in the arse. People are out to get him & he deserves everything coming to him the little cnut.

A vet says cannabis edibles will not kill a dog.

Stabbing is far more likely to have killed it.

It looks a mauler -I'd not want to meet one like that while walking a pet dog.
