To think its disgusting that dh used my towel

WinkyTinky · 24/10/2023 10:46

Bought myself a new bath towel recently, a lovely pink fluffy thing, a treat just for me. Dh used it this morning, stuffed it into the wash basket, and went off on his way. So I took it out to get it straight in the washing machine only to find he'd really given himself a good scrub and left the evidence behind 😠Anger level 1-10?

@Universalsnail do you wipe your bum on your towel?

WinkyTinky · 24/10/2023 13:40

I'm truly sorry to disgust everyone! I just wanted to know if this was a typical man thing as I've only ever lived with one of them. And probably won't bother doing so again if this is anything approaching 'normal.' I am dreaming of the day I can go on a Dunelm shopping spree buying all the fluffy pink things I want. And I'm not even a pink fluffy girl! But I'll bloody well do it anyway.

I would suspect he’s done it on purpose as a means of showing his contempt and disrespect for you.

It should be fine after a super hot wash. I’d get an over-the-radiator towel rail and keep the towel in the bedroom on that. Once you’ve ditched the husband you can buy all the fluffy towels you like.

Good grief. I can't believe what some people find acceptable.

(Edited to clarify that the quoted post was the response to a PP saying
"I think it's just a towel and just wash it? Unless you asked him not to use your new towel before hand?".)

Edited

Not only is it unacceptable but it's the sheer entitlement that he's shitted it up and left the OP to clean up his mess after him.

daisychain01 · 24/10/2023 13:33

How thoughtless. Did he just grab the first available towel? We have our own towel colours and all 'play nicely' as regards only using our towel.

him just grabbing it, soiling it and then dumping it for you to wash makes him a Grade A arsehole, especially if it's a face towel. Not an LTB but very indicative of the type of person he is.

LostThestral · 24/10/2023 13:33

I take the mick out of my DH for using such a massive amount of toilet roll - maybe i'll give him a pass now as he's never shitty

In future I'd lock your lovely pink towel away...oh and buy him a bum gun for Christmas.

@Wonkasworld I bloody loved that towel. The last time I bought towels was in 2005 when I moved into my first flat and I've made do with worn out torn bits of shred for years. This was my bloody special towel! You're right, I won't be wanting to snuggle into it again.

And in reply to everyone else, I am on my way out of this relationship, don't worry.

Glad you’re leaving. Not just the towel is it, but the whole thing being symptomatic of his disgustingness and lack of respect for you

What sort of a disgusting thread is this?

One where people are supposed to share their shit stories, perhaps.

TooOldForThisNonsense · 24/10/2023 13:23

WinkyTinky · 24/10/2023 10:50

@StoneColdAlibi literal shit.

Gross. Does he not wash his arse?

That would make me more angry than the towel which can be washed

theveryhungrybum · 24/10/2023 13:22

spookehtooth · 24/10/2023 11:09

Is the pooh a regular thing, something that contributed to wanting your own towel?

I think sharing towels is the norm in a Household, generally. As for mistakes like pooh, if rare then annoying but not entirely unexpected. If a regular issue, then yuk, it should be embarrassing and something a person is keen to work on improving their method.

No, it is not normal to share towels in a household.

Tally00 · 24/10/2023 10:52

Could you buy him some toilet paper?

Hahaha I like that your suggestion is to buy toilet paper rather than he wash his arse in the shower 😂.

He literally just had a shower and still has shit on his arse, no toilet paper is going to help.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 24/10/2023 13:18

That’s disgusting.

whynotwhatknot · 24/10/2023 13:17

i have my own towel dh has his-he wouldnt dare touch mine

who has a shower then still has shit on them

We once had a tradesmen who left shit stains all over our towel when he went to the loss. Heaven knows how. There was plenty of loo roll. He must have used the towel to clean his arse rather than loo roll.

Next day when he asked to use the loo he was told no he can't and he had to go elsewhere. Not having that in my house!

That’s absolutely vile. i live in a flat building and if tradesmen ask to use my bathroom I feel a bit bad but I do make an excuse and direct them to the building communal toilet on the ground floor 😂. The exception to that rule is if I’m familiar with them and they’ve did a few jobs for me.

dontgobaconmyheart · 24/10/2023 13:15

OP just a heads up that there are men out there who actually wash themselves and keep clean, respect other people's possessions in the home and care about other people's feelings in general.

He sounds disgusting and it sounds like you're unhappy regardless, so why stay?

uncomfortablydumb53 · 24/10/2023 13:14

I thought you were going to say dead skin! Actually Shit is disgusting
Does he know or care this happens?
Get yourself as many towels as you like... then tell him to leave
I couldn't go near him

Snazzysausage · 24/10/2023 13:11

Gordon Bennet,I can't believe I'm going to write this but I assume he'd washed his bum, then while drying "really well", the towel breached his bum hole 🤔🥺

Astonymission · 24/10/2023 13:08

PinkRoses1245 · 24/10/2023 11:39

This. Get a grip and some perspective

Actually @Imamumgetmeoutofhere Op said she’s not having sex.

Flatulence · 24/10/2023 13:07

The faaaar bigger issue here is that a grown man that you chose to marry can't wash his arse properly. That's disgusting.
I wouldn't care if my husband used my nice new towel; I'd care tremendously if he couldn't wash his arse well enough to avoid leaving shit on towel. 🤢🤮

ChocolateCinderToffee · 24/10/2023 13:05

SplendidUtterly · 24/10/2023 12:59

I wonder if men like this are blissfully just unaware of what they are doing, they simply just don't care, maybe have issues with touching/cleaning their asses because they think they will catch "the gay" or are genuinly a bit dim witted and simple? The mind boggles.🤔

He knew perfectly well what he was doing. The OP had bought something nice and fresh and pretty for herself and he crapped on it.

IDriveMySupernova · 24/10/2023 13:03

In all seriousness I don’t think I’ll ever get over the skids-on-sheets incidents. I’d be so worried it would happen with a new man. I’m not sure I could ever deal with a man in my bed again.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 24/10/2023 13:01

Which is why more and more homeowners don't let the tradesmen use their loo! Some are little more than animals when it comes to personal hygiene and respect (or lack of) for other peoples' property!

But then you'll have people come on here saying 'but toilets are for shitting in, stop being so precious'. Maybe the key is to embarrass them, say yes provided they clean up after themselves and then check it before they leave? (Only half joking.)
