To think its disgusting that dh used my towel

Bought myself a new bath towel recently, a lovely pink fluffy thing, a treat just for me. Dh used it this morning, stuffed it into the wash basket, and went off on his way. So I took it out to get it straight in the washing machine only to find he'd really given himself a good scrub and left the evidence behind 😠Anger level 1-10?

I'm truly sorry to disgust everyone! I just wanted to know if this was a typical man thing as I've only ever lived with one of them. And probably won't bother doing so again if this is anything approaching 'normal.' I am dreaming of the day I can go on a Dunelm shopping spree buying all the fluffy pink things I want. And I'm not even a pink fluffy girl! But I'll bloody well do it anyway.

Speaking as a man, no, it is not normal. My bum is clean after I leave the toilet, if I had a shower, the removable shower head can easily be directed as you would a bidet, how he got shit on a towel after leaving the shower is incomprehensible to me.

If you only have a bath and no shower, then he was surely bathing in his own poo???

Abouttimemum · 24/10/2023 14:20

We share towels but they’re for drying when you’re clean. I have no idea why they’d ever have shit on them! Minging!

Sayitaintso33 · 24/10/2023 14:18

Can't help with your revolting husband OP, but I've been letting tradesmen use various toilets over 40 years and never once have they been left a mess - not that I can remember, and I think I would remember.

HappiDaze · 24/10/2023 14:17

Maybe he just happened to fart and follow through abs is completely embarrassed having shat on your towel hence throwing it in the wash hoping you wouldn't notice

He's basically a toddler Grin or was in that panicked moment

If that's what it was

RubyBoozeDay · 24/10/2023 14:16

I would spread the dirty towel out on his bed, where he can't miss his shitty streak, and insist he replaces your towel. Then replace him in your life with a man who knows basic hygiene.

HappiDaze · 24/10/2023 14:15

WinkyTinky · 24/10/2023 14:12

@Fahbeep No, I just think he's unthinkingly stupid and incompetent.

Here's hoping

CustardySergeant · 24/10/2023 14:15

Have you spoken to him about this, OP?

HappiDaze · 24/10/2023 14:14

@CustardySergeant

You're an angry person to jump so viciously on my comment

We get your point as it's already been discussed numerous times by various posters

Fuck me no this is certainly not normal man behaviour! My husband thankfully knows how to wipe his own bum and wash his own bum properly. We share towels and never has he left shit on a towel, Jesus Christ.

So glad to hear you will soon be LTB.

CustardySergeant · 24/10/2023 14:10

HappiDaze · 24/10/2023 13:59

You should have bought him his own towel in a different colour

We all have different coloured towels here and woe betide anyone using anyone else's - looking at you DD - she tried it once never again Grin - got a good talking to

He's a grown man! Why should she have bought him his own towel? He clearly already has other towels available for him to use. What's much worse than the mere fact that he used the OP's brand new 'fluffy pink towel, is that he soiled it because he's so filthy and left it for the OP to find and wash for him!

Fahbeep · 24/10/2023 14:10

OP, I hate to ask, but has he done it on purpose to spite you. Grown men don't use towels to wipe their bums.

If the relationship is in a bad place, has he deliberately soiled your new towel because you were getting some joy and comfort from it. If you think this might be true, it's time to LTB.

WinkyTinky · 24/10/2023 10:50

@StoneColdAlibi literal shit.

This is nothing to do with the towel.

Who wipes shit on anything other than loo roll?!

This would be ending it territory for me.

PrtScn · 24/10/2023 14:08

I think it happens more than you think. My DH does the same. Literal shit on his towel after showering. I have no idea how he manages it, I’ve told him it’s disgusting and he hasn’t done anything about it. He sleeps in the spare room and I’ve not had sex with him for 5 years.

Holly60 · 24/10/2023 14:08

WinkyTinky · 24/10/2023 11:01

He does the same with his own towel. I don't do his washing anymore. And there is certainly no sex.

Oh OP. Surely this is bigger than the towel.

I would have to leave someone like this

Why should she?

Diamondcurtains · 24/10/2023 14:03

The towel wouldn’t bother me. We don’t have our own towels but the fact he doesn’t wipe or wash properly is fucking disgusting 🤢

HappiDaze · 24/10/2023 14:02

I do agree that's it's a really bizarre thing of him to do and does seem a bit controlling having read other posts.

It would put me off him quite dramatically and be good reason to LTB as there's more to it than just using your towel.

It's a violation really

Cherrysoup · 24/10/2023 13:59

That would make me vomit, very delicate gag reflex here.

It's a typical abusive man thing. It's the equivalent of animals pissing on things to show dominance.

Save your money and treat yourself once you have left. Good luck!

spookehtooth · 24/10/2023 13:51

@WinkyTinky definitely not normal, although if you're young you might find a higher percentage of untrained men. Common complaint, and I've visited some untidy/dirty houses of male only occupants. I'm quite a tidy bloke, and probably dodged a few bullets when I was younger. For almost all my house sharing years with friends, I was the only male living in house. Not by design, just how it worked out

jeaux90 · 24/10/2023 13:50

Nothing less attractive than a man child who can't even wipe his own arse properly. I can't imagine what other life failures he has.

Definitely a case of LTB what is there to stay for?

ehb102 · 24/10/2023 13:47

Wow! I often say that a man's behaviour is marking his territory like an animal, but this is the first time I've seen it done so literally. He rubber his faeces on your one nice towel! Just wow. Doesn't get any more basic than that.
