... to think Gary Lineker is odd?

Or more correctly his relationship with his second ex-wife is odd? They split and divorced years ago yet he's on holiday with her. They never had children together but she has a (now adult) child with her first husband and one with her second to whom she's still married, happily I understand (as much as I can understand from the papers).

Lineker says they speak three times a day and text all the time. If this was happening to any Mumsnetters they'd be on here complaining about it and rightly so.

What does Danielle Bux's husband think about this I wonder and how does he put up with it?

It's all most strange.

What the fuck has it got to do with any of us, eh? I'm sure we've all got situations in our lives which to other mumsnetters might be unusual but to ourselves are perfectly normal.

Well, it's not really normal is it? OP I'm sure I read an interview with him some years ago when he explained they split because of her desire for a baby. He absolutely wanted no more so they split, but remain good friends

It's not and I can't imagine anyone being happy that their current spouse's ex is messaging them day in and day out. It is as far from normal as I can imagine. I wouldn't have it.

Speaking to your ex spouse three times a day suggests one of the ex couple would rather they weren't exes.

Maybe her husband's there too and they're all good friends?

I can actually imagine my DH and my ex on holiday together, which must be fairly unusual in itself. What I can't imagine is wanting to be there. Grin

My understanding is she wanted another child and he didn’t. So he let her go and she immediately went off to America, got married and had another child (that’s the but I find odd, not the friendship). .

Her 2nd husband was Lineker, they didn't have a child.

I didn't think she was married to her first DD's dad. Not sure how I know that, though, so might be wrong.

She must have an extremely relaxed husband. Or it's a lavender marriage.

I wouldn't say odd but more lucky he has his reputation intact and laughable to consider him a man with morals.

Was an awful womaniser and cheating on his first wife and yiung children throughout the 90's up to his divorce but somehow it never stuck.

Think sir Alex Ferguson hinted at it one tome.when Linekar criticised him for issues he was having. with the media

SallyWD · 25/07/2023 13:59

If he's odd then she is too right? She's the one that's still married. It's a slightly unusual set up but if everyone's happy with it then fine.

Justcallmebebes · 25/07/2023 13:59

Not sure I'd be so thrilled in her current husband's shoes tho

Why “rightly so”?
People have different relationships and not everyone is immature enough to need to cut an ex out of their lives entirely. Who cares? They are all adults, they can have whatever friendships they want.
