Most women hoover above toilet seat in public toilets to pee?

I was out this weekend and had to use the toilet to pee. I normally hoover above toilet seat to pee in public toilets and was thinking to myself this is difficult especially if I need to do a long pee🙈😂 Is this what most women do too or am I being extra germ conscious and should just wipe the seat and sit down? Sorry if tmi but I'm just curious

I can’t hover, for some reason I always pee down my left leg if I try. I have to sit down but I check the seat is dry first.
Not many things more disgusting than sitting in other people’s piss.

If someone has dried the seat you can bet there are still smears of pee on it - probably from multiple people. So you're still sitting on it, even if you can't feel it.

I'm not a clean obsessive BTW, but I don't enjoy sharing other peoples germs.

If you live a normal life it’s impossible not to share other people’s germs. It keeps our immune systems healthy.

You can tell when someone's hovering in the cubicle next to you because it sounds like a horse pissing. I sit and quietly judge.

And they probably don't give a rats about your judgement.

I don't have the room in my head for caring about how other people choose to use the toilet.

Ukrainebaby23 · 11/06/2023 09:18

Covid united me with some really handy anti-bac wipes in mini packets, perfect for loo seats, door handles, wiping down communal high chairs etc.

I don't flush them, just pop in an mini rubbish bag which I carry fir all types of waste, and then throw when convenient.

I'm not a clean obsessive BTW, but I don't enjoy sharing other peoples germs.

While we're on with peeing, how much - in general - does your bladder hold? I have a handy measuring jug at the side of the loo and am so delighted if I'm peeing half a litre!! have once got up to 700ml but I think that was a fluke (and nearly a puddle on the floor getting there!) (Sorry if you're still in old money!)

MincePieandBaileys · 11/06/2023 08:31

It's impossible to hover over the seat if you're under 5ft tall.

pensterino · 11/06/2023 08:28

If you must hover, please please please put the seat up first.

And then put the lid down, if there is one, before you flush (faecal aerosol, anyone?)

And for goodness sake, if you get bits of paper on the floor, pick them up and dispose of them.

YOU KNOW WHO YOU ALL ARE....

Yes. Always hover.

Why? Why do you hover above the toilet seat in your own home? What’s the point?

SconesCreamJamTea · 10/06/2023 06:40

I don't pee on the seat.
Nor do i get bladder infections 🤷🏻‍♀️

SconesCreamJamTea · 10/06/2023 06:36

Yes. Always hover.

I always hover, unless I'm in my own house and even then I tend to hover.

You hover in your own house?? 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

SarahsHoneydew · 10/06/2023 02:16

Our saying back in the day “If you don’t hover, don’t bother” - Me and my friends are all “hoverers”

I sit. I tried hovering years ago but ended up with wee pouring down my leg (I was bursting and it just went everywhere and I spent the next few hours with pissy trousers 😔). Plus now I have kids I rarely wee alone and it's bad enough having to explain "why does mummy have a front bottom" without having to explain why I'm hovering, doing the superman to keep the door closed or praying one of my darling children doesn't open the door before I'm done flashing me to everyone. I don't eat off my thighs either.

When I was 13 Q: What do you get with Surprise peas? A: A wet leg!

What about train toilets

I hover and wipe after and even lift the lid just in case.
I know it's more work, but I'd rather that than sit.
I mostly leave the loo cleaner than l found it as I'm too embarrassed for the next person to think it was me.
No logic whatsoever but it's something I'm trying to conquer as it isn't a good thing to have.

Not sure what I'll do when my muscles aren't as strong as they are.

You'll sit, and absolutely nothing will happen except emptying your bladder better and reducing your risk of UTIs.

Nanof8 · 09/06/2023 20:11

I never hover. I do wipe the seat though.
If the washroom has the paper toilet covers I'll use one.

TheFeistyFeminist · 09/06/2023 13:32

I never hover. The seat touches the back of my thighs, so all that matters to me is that it is dry. Hoverers make the seat wet and leave me having to dry it before I can use it. To no advantage at all that I can make out.

DadBodAlready · 09/06/2023 13:28

GoneAwayWorld · 07/06/2023 08:00

This.
I don't hover, I sit. I find it very upsetting when women who hover wee on the toilet seat and then don't clean it.
If everyone just sat it would be much more hygienic.

Its worse for men! some buggers can't be bothered to lift the seat in the cubicle when peeing

OMG of course I always do! 😂

You think it's funny that you piss on a public toilet seat? Hoverers are truly disgusting.

Grazedpad · 09/06/2023 11:01

DarrellRiversCriminalBehaviourOrder · 09/06/2023 10:28

Will you please, please, please just wipe up afterwards? I know every hoverer says she's a urinary Robin Hood with faultless aim and trajectory, but trust me, at least some of you are wrong.

OMG of course I always do! 😂

I used to do this until my Dyson got too unwieldy to lug round the shopping mall so now I just take a dustpan and brush instead.

🤣🤣🤣🤣
