Most women hoover above toilet seat in public toilets to pee?

I was out this weekend and had to use the toilet to pee. I normally hoover above toilet seat to pee in public toilets and was thinking to myself this is difficult especially if I need to do a long pee🙈😂 Is this what most women do too or am I being extra germ conscious and should just wipe the seat and sit down? Sorry if tmi but I'm just curious

I always hover, unless I'm in my own house and even then I tend to hover.

you hover in your own house?!

LakieLady · 07/06/2023 09:15

I've never hovered. I bet the people who manage to piss on the floor in the toilets in my local supermarket are hoverers.

If a lav is so minging that I'm not prepared to allow the seat to come into contact with the unbroken skin of my arse, I'd rather pee in a bush, frankly.

Hoverers are the reason the seats get covered in pee in the first place 🤢

I'm sure I read somewhere that it means you don't empty your bladder properly which leaves you more susceptible to infections.

I always sit 🤷‍♀️

I read the same. I don’t hover for this reason, plus it’s more comfortable to sit.

Hovering is supposedly bad for the pelvic floor. Something to keep in mind

So is hoovering, which is a good excuse not to do it.

Hayfeverjogon · 07/06/2023 09:13

Correct me if I'm wrong, but seeing as it is probably physically impossible for almost anyone to lick the back of their own thighs

😂 I just laughed out loud at the imagery

This. I couldn’t understand why , around 15 years ago, I started walking into women’s loos being met with piss all over the seat, as if some bloke had used it.
then I saw all the shite about hovering above the seat. Doh

whats worngnwith just wiping the seat with loo roll and sitting on it as per design and ensuring your piss actually goes down into the bowl? Those hoverers are just making the situation worse as it only takes one hoverer early on after loos are cleaned to make all the following women go 🤢 and hover themselves, and it gets worse and worse through the day

really, stop. Sit properly and then wipe the seat down when you finish before you flush. Simples. Clean. And better for your bladder and bowels . Hovering in that position is bad posturally

fgs, I thought we’d moved forwards from squatting over holes in the ground or drains in the floor- at least that position is known to be better for full evacuation of bladder and bowels and makes some sense.

I hover and NEVER leave piss on the seat. I shall continue to hover and ruin my bowels, my bladder and my posture lol.....what a crock of shit...pardon the pun.

queenatom · 07/06/2023 09:11

I sit down. If a toilet looks so disgusting that I'm nervous to sit down properly (and it's usually ended up that way because of hoverers), then I just don't use it.

mast0650 · 07/06/2023 09:10

I rarely wipe the seat either. Only if it clearly needs it and even then normally only with loo paper as I rarely carry anything else with me. Though to be honest I'd probably move to the next loo if that is an option.

I'm never ill.

Muhwanda · 07/06/2023 08:00

I don’t. It’s the hoverers that make it a mess in the first place.

Riverlee · 07/06/2023 09:09

we use Shark which sounds a lot more dangerous when using the toilet.

Never hovered, I’m a sitter.

DuvetCoverNightmare · 07/06/2023 09:09

I’m a sitter.

No wonder the queues in ladies toilets are massive with all the seat covering and anti bac wiping!

changeyerheadworzel · 07/06/2023 09:08

Always, always, always hover on any toilet that is not my own.
Always, always, always wipe the seat before I leave with a wet wipe just in case but because I have been hovering since the year dot, I am a dab hand at aiming.

ShandaLear · 07/06/2023 09:07

Hoverers who don’t clean up after themselves are absolutely disgusting. I can’t even express how horrible it is to sit on a seat only to find yourself sitting in a complete stranger’s piss. Just sit on the seat. What do you think you’re going to catch? Some sort of thigh disease?

mast0650 · 07/06/2023 09:07

I don't. Sounds extremely uncomfortable to me! The toilet is where you have a nice sit down in a busy day. Sitting on a toilet seat is not going to do you any harm.

VivaLesTartes · 07/06/2023 09:07

Never a hoverer. But I hear about women doing it all the time and I thought I was the odd one so relieved by the responses. I'll normally give a wipe to make sure it's dry but honestly couldn't care less about my bum/leg skin.

Although I have face a couple of really grim toilets where I've had no choice 🤢

Spidey66 · 07/06/2023 09:06

I never hoover, and only hover if the loo is particularly grim....and if its that bad I'll try and go elsewhere. I agree hoverers usually splash and I'm sure I heard somewhere you're more likely to have a uti.

Dahliasrule · 07/06/2023 09:05

I hover, but only because I don’t like the thought of sitting on previous hoverers’ wee. However, I lift the toilet seat to avoid doing the same myself.

lankyhanky · 07/06/2023 09:05

Having seen toilets with shit and blood smeared on them no thanks I'm not putting my skin on that! The thought of my skin making contact with random people's bodily fluids makes my skin crawl.

I hover and wipe the seat afterwards.

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 07/06/2023 09:04

DH does the hoovering. Grin

I just come down on it like a ton of bricks...

Nannyfannybanny · 07/06/2023 09:03

I see some one posted on the back of your legs touch the seat, how is that even possible,or are you actually hovering!!

NC1843 · 07/06/2023 09:02

Not a hoverer. Wipe round with loo roll and a baby wipe if required, otherwise my skin does a pretty good job of keeping any nasties out, as it’s designed to do.

Nannyfannybanny · 07/06/2023 09:01

Why, well I have a bladder prolapse and the only way to void is to squat I don't splash or make a mess,I always check.

Tumbleweed101 · 07/06/2023 09:00

I chose one that looks clean (if I have the.option) and sit down. Never really thought on it before.

BarbaraofSeville · 07/06/2023 09:00

I clicked on this thread to see who was sucking away the 'contaminated' air above the toilet, but now see that it's just another weirdo who seems to have completely missed the point of skin, which does a damn good job of keeping germs outside the body.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but seeing as it is probably physically impossible for almost anyone to lick the back of their own thighs, I think it's safe to sit on a toilet seat, so please, just do that like a normal person.
